Unbelievable that the Audi R8 4.2 was actually faster than the 5.2 FSI V10.
It was lighter, and Tsukuba is a small, tight track that favors lightness and grip over power. Makes sense. Plus 420hp is pretty powerful. The v8 was always my dream version of the R8, paired with a Whipple supercharger. One dayyyyy

It’s such a shame that the v8 its so high maintenance. I can say as a fact that it’s cheaper to run the v10. Apartment from the gas of course.

Damn, v8 R8 quicker than a Gallardo and v10 r8 on the time attack ?! Must be the lightness/ manual gearbox
Must be the driver fucked up the lap. Gallardo and V10 R8 are way faster. V8 isn't that much lighter, and the manual gearbox would make it slower.
BeyerT1 the r tropic is an absolute shit of a gearbox. The v8 is faster on that short track because the v10 can’t reach their full potential on that little straights. On Suzuka in the other hand they would annihilate the v8. Plus the v8 is just like 50 kilos lighter than the v10.

@@Eidrian111 yes the v8 is more responsive, it's better suited for this kind of track. Also that 50kilos do matter in cornering
I think is the driver: Seiji Ara was the best in the period
r8 4.2 was a beast on this track. because Tsubuka is so tight and technical the v10 cars dont have a big advantage and if anything the extra weight is a penalty

I’ve seen probably 20 or so of these videos and this is the first time I’ve seen a Lambo win.

@@granitgerbeshi4576 I'm not a Lamborghini fan but currently a Lamborghini just setted a new world record of fastest 1/2 speed and time (for a proper modern production car) which can be found by 1320videos and Lamborghini just won 24hours of Le Man's 3 times in a row. As of 2020 January 27.

Most of this japanese test are manipulated. Porsche gt 3 rs is fastrer than the Modena. Also, they need to test a tunes GT-R becouse the stock one cant win.
thats the point, GTR is fast when stock for sure, no way 500+hp is slow. but the other cars just being faster. no shit but all cars are good in this one

@oneviwatara and that means nothing if it breaks down after only a few laps. You try launching a GTR multiple times next to a 911 turbo and see which breaks first. There's a reason why one is cheap.
