We also spent an afternoon at a local Maasai village where they shared their traditional songs and famous high jump dance with us. Next we met with their medicine man, watched as the villagers started fire with sticks, and learned about how the Maasai build their houses (spoiler alert: they use animal poop for the walls!).
It was a fascinating trip both for its cultural highlights and the animal conservation and protection efforts that Amboseli has done so remarkably well. The local people truly care about protecting the animals and creating an incredible experience for everyone who has been lucky enough to travel to Amboseli.

Who are the “Fernweh Chronicles”? ...And what does “Fernweh” mean anyway?
Hi! We are Georg, Tara, Liv and Bodhi and Fernweh is our way of life. It’s German (so is Georg) and it means a longing for far off places, or literally “far sickness”.
Georg and I met while we were each solo-traveling through Central America, many countries and adventures later we have two beautiful children, Liv and Bodhi, who are full of wanderlust just like their parents. We make every effort possible to bring them around the world and introduce them to new cultures, languages, people, and food, and hope to shape their personalities early on to be globally minded little ones.

Your little daughters is so sweet and well mannered. I've seen quite alot of videos of families both from abroad and local taking their little kids to these remote Maasai villages and let me say this is the first time i've seen a little kid ready to play with the locals, smiling, running in and out of Manyattas and immediately touching cow dung immediately she is told its cow dung😂. I bet she will be quite adventurous like the parents when she grows up. Kenya is indeed beautiful with alot to offer🙌

This is magical... The first time I went to Amboseli it blew my mind away..... Magic lives in Africa for sure... Kenya is very beautiful... Visit Samburu, the elephants & animal there are just insanely big... You will see the gravy zebras... The place is breathtaking

All sorts, that one was shot with the GH5, the newer films were shot with the BMPCC4K and future releases have been shot with the Canon R5. 👍🏻

Great Safari Video!
I have always wanted to explore the region around Kilimanjaro, Africa but due to money limitations I have never been able to do that uptil now.
This safari video was truly inspiring: I mean we watchers are pulled into the reality of the thing from the perspective of yourselves having a great journey. A little bit different from seeing a nature video on TV in a more traditional way. We can see the *reactions* of the children in this video and I think the video became more *rewarding* because of it - I mean a child is not as *jaded* as a fully grown-up human!
Great footage that you shot from inside the places you stayed at too - combining great footage of the greenland of the safari (with good animal shots!) with interior shots *within the car* - I liked that we got to see the distant shape of Mount Kilimanjaro too - Hemingway must had it right as you hinted at in the beginning of this video!
Good to me that we got to see actual African tribes people doing their traditional shows too: Really cool footage with quite impressive *performances* giving me an idea or two!

We talked for some time but I had to cut it a lot to keep the flow up. But I use the Rungu, as a meditation like tool, almost daily while editing. ❤️
