I just wanted to know is it possible for someone from a different background to pass this exam and moreover qualify for the interview or will it be a hindrance for me because I also have 2 drops? Should I go for it ?
Hi. Anyone can go for an MBA so whether you're PCB or something else has got nothing to do with CAT preparation. However, I would suggest you to first fix your academics though. Ensure that you clear all the subjects at the earliest and improve your grades as much as possible.

What should my preparation strategy be? Should I solve NCERT books from grades 6-10, or will reading the module notes, watching pre-class concept videos, and practicing exercises suffice? For example, in this question: Q) 72 hens cost Rs. 96.7. What does each hen cost, where the two digits in place of ‘__’ are not visible or are written in illegible handwriting? I was completely blank. Later, after watching the solution video, I learned we need to use the concept of missing digits. After some research, I found that this topic was explained in the NCERT books from grades 6-10. So, what strategy should I use? Should I first solve the NCERT books and then approach the module, or should I refer to the module and build my concepts by doing the questions in the module? Additionally, do CAT questions each year revolve around the same concepts with only the values changing? Will I be able to solve CAT problems if I memorize the concepts of different types of questions from different topics (in-class exercises, practice exercises, SIM CATs) by watching video solutions?
Hi Shivansh! NCERT books are not needed. You can instead focus on the courseware provided to you and take your time to master the concepts considering you're a CAT 25 student. To answer the second part of your question, the concepts tend to get repeated but the language of the question and complexity differs. The best way to prepare is to do the concepts thoroughly and expose yourself to a lot of questions and remember as much of it as possible. That ensures adequate preparation prior to the CAT.
