I hate old school WOF! The players are idiots, the dollar amounts are so low, their slow in solving, the puzzles are not as big, not as many rounds. You can't keep the money you earned coz you have to buy prizes you don't want. How depressing! I like today's wheel or at least wheel in later years!
@@davidbrunson8887 It was cheaper to do. They could get the prizes at a reduced rate or free for mentioning the sponsor. Where else would the $150 ceramic dalmatian become famous.....or the ability to buy a car in one of the rounds! The Bonus Round didn't exist as a regular segment until the week before Pat started in 1981!
A leftover balance after shopping could be carried over through the rest of the game, but if you hit a bankrupt or didn't win another round to spend it, you'd lose that amount.

Pat did go to Saigon in 1967 because he was in the United States Army where he was a radio announcer.
