- I made a trip out onto Lake St. Clair at Metro Beach (daysail) for a morning of ice fishing for Yellow perch. This has been a crazy Winter. Very very mild. I’m hoping Mother Nature gets herself right soon!

I was out there Saturday and caught 17 keepers in 2 hours mid day. Went out again today (Wednesday). Very slow ended up with 6 keepers in 4 hours. Slloowww. Ice is getting bad. I won’t be going again until it gets safe. Someone went through the ice on an Argo. Sunk. Everyone was ok. Great video.
I’m with ya. I think I’m going to hold off until it gets cold again mid February and go from there. Thanks a lot for watching I appreciate it!

they were killing minnows.....biggest fish I have ever seen off Metro.....last week Mon-Th-Fri.....kept 23 fish total....3 over 13".....nothing under 8"

Was out there Saturday with a buddy, we were in the two shanty's behind you in the vid while you were digging the perch eye out. Mostly caught dinks and 2 good ones, everything came on a little gold grub jig using a spike/waxxie.
Right on man! It didn’t look like anyone was doing anything crazy that morning especially with all the hole hopping going on. They kept coming in in waves so I eventually just rode that spot out. Thanks for stopping and watching! 🤘🏻

How rare is that blue perch? Ever think about getting a mount done?
They’ve been caught before but it’s my first in 30+ years of ice fishing. So relatively rare but no I didn’t consider a mount. Thanks a lot for watching!🤘🏻
I was out there the day before. The ice blew out fishing in close by the beach. I fish for 9 hours and got my limit. It was a blast. I was fishing with the middle head and never move. Just stay in one spot.

I went to the metrobeach today came across a spot of 4 inches of nasty ice and backed away. Some fellas who sank a tracked Argo had a snowmobile out there trying to get it out. I hope they didn't sink the snowmobile as well. I didn't catch one fish, the water was so dirty I couldn't see the transducer.
I think most will probably be calling it until it gets cold again. I’d like to make a few more trips but not at the cost of a cold plunge. Thanks a lot for watching!

I used to catch jumbos at Metro on wigglers. My Dad showed me the perch eye deal after running out of bait on Anchor Bay

It held up but man it’s getting punky. She’s pretty much a lost cause. Anchor Bay Area might be better I hear.
@@TheOutdoorConquest Hell I gave up on it last week anyway man I messed my ankle up pretty bad dragging all my gear WAY out there at Crocker one of the first nights and said screw it after a couple of more trips that I didn't really do real good on. Just gonna go back to Musky fishing this weekend probably.
I loved perch until my dad started making me clean them, haha.
It can be a job when ya get a bunch for sure. My dad always cleaned them but I learned from him for sure. They’re down right delicious
@TheOutdoorConquest Yeah perch taste awesome. I catch more bluegill and crappie than anything else. They are my favorite fish to clean and eat.

I will out on the Saginaw Bay but it seems like St Clair they really like the beaded spoon. Tiny jigging raps seem to work good too.

I think parts of it will toward the end of Feb. I don’t think we will see very thick ice but then again the weather forecast seems to change daily. Hard to keep up. Thanks a lot for watching!
