I finally did a Niki song! Her arc lately has really grabbed my attention and I just had to write about it!
Niki has always been a kind soul. In L’Manberg, she was always there to be helpful, always looking out for her friends. One friend in particular, Wilbur, she cared for a lot. She placed her trust in him, and he betrayed it. He made empty promises and she believed in those promises for so long. Now that Wilbur is back, Niki feels conflicted emotions. She did truly care about Wilbur, he was her friend after all, but he hurt so many people, especially her. Niki’s changed, and she won’t allow him to manipulate and hurt her anymore.
Big shout out to my friend and producer, Grace Thygeson! She has been an immense help to me for so long, always there to help me out with her amazing piano and production skills. Grace actually helped me with the melody of the chorus for this song as well! She’s so awesome. Grace helped me produce this song, along with several other songs of mine, and is currently helping me with my musical as well! She is a talented and amazing person. Once again, thank you!

In my opinion, Niki’s life so far has been one of the most tragic lives on the SMP. She was hurt and betrayed by nearly everyone who she cared about (Wilbur, Tommy, Fundy, etc.) and even then she continued to be kind for so long... I really hope she gets to be happy again in the future. This song is incredible!

This was amazing, it perfectly captured Niki's conflict. She had thought that she'd finally moved on, found a place she felt safe, put him behind her, but he just had to come back, and come to the one place she'd found a home. Now she's afraid she can only watch as he does the same thing he did to L'manburg, corrupting her new home just like her old one.

Poor Niki, so angered and confused by Wilbur's death that she blamed Tommy and Tubbo, not realizing that Wilbur had chosen that path himself.
I'm glad that this song shows her finally realizing he never cared for her, as heartbreaking as it is. Hopefully revived Wilbur doesn't bring her back into his clutches...

Just what I was thinking
this song hits hard after what happened.. i looked up to wilbur and he was the first youtuber that turned out to be horrible. the two lyrics that hit the most are "The person that you were, I watched them fade. Only a twisted apparition remains" i don't see a friendly face when i see his face anymore i see just an average guy who's not even that pretty like i thought he first was. hes fugly and i hate his voice. hes putting effort into his voice when he sings so his singing voice probably sounds so wrong without him putting the effort to give him his accent- according to friends.

I think the only one I trust when making a promise is Techno, since he has been very serious about Dream's favor, which is kinda a promise of sorts. And he said he doesn't make promises easily since he will need to stick to it to the very end. He is such a sincere character xD
