This presents a rather distorted picture of the extent of protests. I just came back after seeing them with my own eyes. There are a few hundred protesters at best (out of a student body of over 40,000, so they are not even representative). The protests are peaceful and the police are doing a super job funneling them through the streets on campus. At one point, the police were inside the Structural Engineering Building and the students were outside the glass doors. The students banged on the doors but did not break anything. The police eventually let them in and they marched straight through the building to go out on the other side. The students are mostly demanding the release of the ones arrested earlier this morning when their encampment was removed. Despite the Palestinian flags, there was hardly any mention of Gaza at all. I did not see anyone who looked like an outside agitator. I saw students barricading an exist of another building, went and talked to them, explained about the dangers if someone gets trapped inside, they agreed and left, letting me dismantle the barricade. If the students remain peaceful, the university and police and doing the right thing with how they are handling this.
That's the same way ppl described jan6insurrection too. They were invited inside by police, given a tour, and were arrested for trusting the police. You must not have been on the right corner for today. I would be careful about getting involved anywhere near that, avoid it all together
@@slantchev I'm not saying anything against you, sorry if it came out wrong. I love that ppl are out there trying to peacefully make a difference. Just be careful 🙏 our government isn't itself lately 😔
@@larynOneka8080 illegal assembly isn't fighting for the first amendment, it's just illegal assembly. They are supposed to get a permit to hold a protest like the rest of us.
CBS, do you not listen to your audio before you post? Your videos never have the volume right. Can barely hear anything per usual.
Difference is between arrest and... Charge, jail and sentencing++ fine community service.

When you point your finger at someone three are pointing back at you. Shame on you.
Low IQ saying
Protest your parents for not raising you with Respect!!
Fighting for the First Amendment and human dignity shows that they were raised correctly.
These idiots have zero dignity! And 90% of them couldn't even tell you what the 1st amendment says. @@larynOneka8080
