  • Tired of the low-res, fuzzy, and hard-to-understand webcam that's built into your PC or Mac system? For far less than you'd think, you can now upgrade to the terrific eMeet C970L Ultra HD Webcam with Ring Light and massively improve your video experience. Tech expert Dave Taylor wrestles with the box in the unboxing, then plugs the eMeet webcam into his MacBook Pro to demonstrate that it really is plug-and-play. This review includes demo footage so you can see - and hear! - the eMeet unit too.

@@AskDaveTaylor I received this in the mail today. Because of your video I was able to open the box properly. I had this connected and running as a second camera in my OBS program within 3 minutes. So easy. I'm excited to have two cameras for my videos again. This way I can show things up close while in the same program rather than multiple cameras. Much better flow. And the quality is very good.

A Ha! The benefit of watching someone else struggle with a box :-)

I am wondering if I have to download emeet link on my laptop? Also is it really plug and play, so I plug in the usb and my camera works?

    • @rmorine6394
      @rmorine6394 Před 2 lety

Yes it is. I plugged it up to my work laptop and it worked immediately. I can't download or use outside software on it, so I won't be able to use it with the event link.

Question: how do you use the privacy protection feature?

You just need to flip the webcam up !

Hi. I was looking for this camera.
    My additions and elaborations :
    - "Ring-Light": Is a "very mixed bag". In low-light situations, it will make a difference. Problem is "in what direction" - it can create a more-overblown/white-face. Only situation I can ses the ring-light adding positively, is if light comes from behind the person, and the background is brighter that the face ... then it might illuminate - but since it has not got enough power/lumen, to counteract back/sidewards-sunlight, well, then it is "a gimmick". My advise: Choose the cheapest of the C970L and C970 ("C970L", without ringlight).
    - the 60FPS provides a slicker motion.picture experience than 30FPS (although introducing more picture-noise in lower-light situations). Blur will/can still happen (because of less-than-perfect light, because of longer exposure times) - as seen in the video.
    - the video is standard/good (1080p, sharp, not curve-distorted).
    - field-of-view of 75-degrees is suitable / fits 1-on-1 video-conferencing (sitting in front of a PC-workstation/laptop).
    - the audio is better than average on webcams (they are all much worser than the typical studio/USB-microphones).
    - cable is appr. 200cm - compared to Suirui-1080p etc, with only appr. 120-150cm - making for much more flexibility and no extension-cord).
    Some good advice:
    - watch other youtubers "open boxes", so you are prepared.
    - check if the built-in webcam is blocked, before activating it.
    - try out the ring-light in a low-light situation, where it makes a difference (to see its limited function, and plusses/minusses - and to experiment IRL).
    - check subjectively the resolution of the recorded test-video - to make sure it is in the right resolution (your test-sample looks like either 480p, or 720p + "very compressed" ... whish makes me wonder, whether the audio is maybe also affected by a low-res audio-codec).
    - pay attention to, how resolution-standards are named. Here: "Ultra" stands for 4K / U-HD (3840 x 2160), opposed to Full-HD (1920 x 1080) .. a factor 4 (2x2), which makes a Huge difference. Unfortunately the usability of the review gets blurred when it comes to these details, since the "test/sample video" as mentioned doesn't show any Full-HD resolution.
Once again thanks for putting forward a video, showing the webcam and the software ... and, we all have to learn - so stay tuned.

You have very specific expectations of an unboxing and demo that aren't the same as what I do in my videos. People experience unboxing without studying others doing the same, so that's what I do too. Otherwise, thx for the suggestions.

Is Full HD not ultra HD

In this instance, it's the same thing. The difference between HD and UltraHD is the color range.
