When you get into Vermont and further north, the white blazes are fewer and far between. There might even be days where you only see one or two a day in southern Maine NH, just FYI.

I don't have a history there, but my wife does. She was there with the Peace Corps in the 90s and more recently, returned to teach soap making & how to start a small business. She also lived in Tanzania a couple of years.

I am definitely worried about being out in it. Right now, on the trail, it is 24. I hope to get a sense of how much lower I can be comfortable

How is the drive up to springer ? Road conditions?
We took the road from the east side. Not too bad...just a few spots where we had to slow down. A sedan could do fine if there isn't ice.
