      Sadly, another unfinished project. It's as if they're pressured to air the programme prematurely. If the premise of the show is to feature a property restoration then surely it's a no-brainer to present the finished article at the end.
      Disappointing to say the least.

      You think the fuddy duddies who make everything difficult for people who want to modify buildings are leftists? They’re older, more conservative people who don’t like change. I know you guys love your narratives about “leftists,” but they bear no resemblance to reality. You’re projecting political ideas onto things that they don’t really apply to.

    • @keirfarnum6811
      @keirfarnum6811 Před 3 lety +2

      Kristine Bailey
      The people who make it difficult to make changes to old buildings in the UK tend to older and more conservative and not like change. It has nothing to do with any “nanny state.” On the other hand, the current conservative government is trying to sell out large parts of the government services to the private sector, resulting in greatly increased costs for the taxpayers. Whether a government has laws that infringe on life and liberty of citizens has little to do with the size of the government; it’s about how that government is run and what laws are put into place.

    It's the agenda of all these renovation shows to push the wife to the foreground as the project manager, even though they have no experience, and push the husband into background or make him look like a bumbling fool who needs her help. It was so nice to see this dear old lady not play their game. But the way George reported the progress was as if she was there on site working and making decisions everyday.
