This worked amazing. Mine looked almost exactly like the one in the video. It's just as easy as the video shows.
That's what I like to hear!
Took me awhile to figure out he was alternating needles when going up/down (but not over). Great video. Will finally fix my 2011 Explorer.
@@edge929 Thanks! Good luck!
This worked great! Thank you! I just used the heaviest duty black nylon thread I could get at a local fabric store and put some glue inside the seam as well.
@@TimWhite-w2c I Love to hear it! Thanks for the feedback!
My explorer looks the same. I purchased the kit from Amazon. Hope I can do it as good as you. Thanks for sharing .
@@ElvieDuplantis It takes a little time, and focus but I think you can!
Looks just like mine
Excellent video, I have been thinking about tackling this on my 2013. I have a dark gray interior and what I might try before stitching is darkening the foam with a sharpie.
I like that little step!
I have this issue, and decided that the best way to fix it is stitching it like you stitch leather. It's been like 40 years since I've done leathercraft, so came here to see what other people are doing. Of the videos I've watched, other than you holding your phone the wrong way, this one if the best. I'm glad I came looking, because your technique is actually a little easier than what I was going to do using 2 separate threads.
Cool technique with the knife and super glue; I was going to use the 2 part system I use in some fiber optic connectors, but the super glue will be easier.
Hey I'm glad you got value from my vid.! & sorry about the crappy phone recording. I need new phone. Looks right when I record, but then uploads with a border. Might be the editing app.
@@problemsolver8447 sounds like you need a problem solver. 😂

@@problemsolver8447 HI. Where did you purchase the correct color of nylon thread? I have the light tan interior. Please help. Love your instructional video!
Thanks for the video. Very helpful!
Glad to help.
Great job so helpfull.. thanks a lot
You're welcome!
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
I'M HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH MY LINCOLN MKT ARMREST!!! GONNA GIVE THIS A TRY! QUESTION: DO YOU TIE A KNOT IN THE THREAD OF EACH NEEDLE?
No. But you can if your needles keep falling off. My needle eyes are pretty small so they stay threaded pretty good without a knot.
@@problemsolver8447 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PROMPT RESPONSE
Hello. Where did you purchase the correct color of your nylon thread? I have the light tan interior.
I have the same color. Did you ever find it and how
I just order off of Amazon, or the local upholstery supply store
Nice
Thanks
Why two needles ? are you alternating needles..? Not really sure what you are doing
2 needles so that they pull towards each other and you don't get a zig zag look.
Do you alternate the needles? Like use one to go up in the stitch and the second one to go down.
Yes.
Where did you get the nylon thread you are using? I ordered thread from Amazon and it is nowhere near the same quality you are using. The tread you are using appears to be a much more rigid and retains stiffness compared to the thread I received.
@@MartyMichaud I got it from the local upholstery supply. I just asked for a Nylon roll of thread. Or Superiorrestorations.com out of Sacramento CA. Has it. OR, Fishing line works as well.
What color thread for the light tan interior and where to get needles
Beaver, or brown. Upholstery supplier, or Amazon. Look in the description for links.
I got everything I needed from Walmart, easy, and looks good.
@@tomhenderson7972 Nice!
Are you rotating needles?
Yes.
I can’t find the link to order the needles and thread. What sizes are the needles and thread?
I like 3 inch recurred needles. Amazon has the stuff.
