I always love the classic staged Kirby greetings ( "ah, Terry!" "Kirby!"). But this one was the best yet. I really the new camera angle with Kirby walking into frame for the greeting. Great stuff
I see Max and Mollie the apprentices in the background. I’m popping in this week to have a pair of their trousers adjusted; I’ve lost weight! Suyamba is completely excellent. I’m going to discuss having a pea coat made as well. All the staff really are first class; genuinely as funny and gently sarcastic in the shop as seen in these videos. Utterly charming.
Now this is quality content. I remember meeting Mr. Allison at a college get together. He aspired to get into investment banking and finance. However, he saw an opportunity of where CZcams had no good quality content that regarded the well dressed and all things fine. What started out as an experiment, turned out well for him! Great work Kirby! Glad to have had the opportunity to meet you before your real career took off.
First off... That navy db suit you wore at the beginning is stunning. The color. Texture. Finish. The way it drapes. Stunning. I'm so happy that you are continuing to work with Haste & Lachter. I would love to get a suit from them someday. Just lovely people who make lovely products. Thankfully they come to NYC so I may catch them when I'm ready. Thank you for continuing to showcase them! Your tuxedo is going to look fantastic!
I did all of this stuff you are doing back in the 80's. I honestly didn't think any of it (at that level of detail and quality) would be around today. Good for you! And thanks for keeping sartorial stuff like this alive.
It’s refreshing to see Terry’s open minded take on traditional vs. contemporary details like vents, lapel size, buttonholes, etc. where others might be more fussy or militant. Great video.
Kirby you have gotten me into trouble again! first it was handmade bespoke watch straps.. and now I am researching suits, shirts and jackets in Australia.... you are a great (sometimes bad on my bank a/c) influence!
The lining on the jacket is magical! Love the little red sheen. And the shirt is truly phenomenal, perfect collar and it falls and moved so amazingly well.
These videos bring great joy. The sheer craft and easy manner of these experts is very engaging. There is also a kind of sadness to it, also: will these crafts exist in the coming decades? I do hope so! Anything that can promote traditional methods must be of value. This channel certainly does more than most to promote such age-old traditions. Thank you as always, Kirby.
Brilliant as always :) Kent Haste & Lachter are so good…would love to see a bespoke commission with Terry where he has the chance to do something a little off the wall and original :)
A warm hello from Armenia Kirby. Thank you for the amazing content as always. These videos serve the channel's mission and are greatly motivational and educational.
Nice video. I look forward to seeing your suit when it is ready. The suit you are wearing in the beginning is beautiful, I love the lines on the shoulders and the cut is generally fantastic. Jeff
You had to do the double-breasted jacket too small, in the old days, so that the single-breasted waistcoat underneath could be seen, because the jacket was left unfastened? I had to run that line through several times.
Actually very interesting that Kent, Haste & Lachte seemed to have absolutely no problem with the weight loss over these fittings while Paolo seemed to be struggling on every fitting. And I think the result is absolutely stunning!
The fact we regressed as a society from wearing suits from 19th century to 70's to only become a thing you see in higher up corporate sectors is a tragedy. We either get our crap together with sophistication or return to monkee.
The suit as we know it has been worn by the lower class towards the end of the 19th century and was disregarded as being for peasants and inappropriate for a true gentleman. So times change. ;)
@@wiktork I don't think you understood. The suit (lounge suit) as we know it is the smaller brother of the frock coat. And that replacement of the frock coat only happened in the beginning of the 20th century. Before that it was mostly sports clothing or country clothing. So very casual clothing. But you don't want people wearing frock coats, do you? So why the obsession with the lounge suit? Or the predecessor of the frock coat, the justacorps. You don't want people wearing that either, right?
Cheers to Kirby and crew. However, it is so disgusting to see the reek of casualness which permeates today's fashion. In church this morning, it was upsetting to see many of the older men dressed like they were on the way to WalMart.
20:34secs " Stephen, I MEAN...blah blah I MEAN...blah blah I MEAN...." Word of advice, stop saying " I MEAN " throughout every sentence. The irony is that " I mean " is meaningless...it's as bad as the use of " like " every other word, which again is just stupid....
" I mean, you can take, I mean, the man, I mean, out of America. But, I mean, you can't, I mean, take America, I mean, out of the man, I mean....".... Point made, I hope...!

Good observation. Kirby’s production team has a nice cinematic approach.
Suyamba is the cherry on top. Her voice, her quick wit, her smile are all exquisite.
Still some class, decorum and tradition left in the world. Thanks for showing us that, Kirby.

My goodness that dinner shirt looks phenomenal!!!
I know. It's a gorgeous silk and that natural colour. Phew! I wish I could afford it.
Kent Haste & Lachter seem really kind.

I will never be able to afford such nice things but good to see much detail put into clothes. Hoping to have such traditions and craft preserved

the super wid lapel with the gradual curve in white (and tux) was stunning. you walk into any room with that you run the show
The gradual curve is called "belly". It's a bit too much for my taste but it certainly is very striking.

THE SECOND AND FOURTH DINNER JACKETS ARE STYLISH; GOING IN THE ITALIAN DIRECTION; IMMENSELY ELEGANT AS WELL!
The lining on the jacket is magical! Love the little red sheen. And the shirt is truly phenomenal, perfect collar and it falls and moved so amazingly well.

I recall early doubters, but Kirby knows quality
He does indeed.
The dinner suit outfit will look very nice, the cut is impeccable.
I swear, every time I watch these with Kent Haste & Lachter, I always think Terry looks like Wayne Gretzky
Now that you mention it, he does!
Brilliant as always :) Kent Haste & Lachter are so good…would love to see a bespoke commission with Terry where he has the chance to do something a little off the wall and original :)
The tartan jacket looks like something a certain Sir Rod Stewart would wear
Love to hear they are making more dresswear than usual, shows that black tie tradition is not yet all faded away
A warm hello from Armenia Kirby. Thank you for the amazing content as always. These videos serve the channel's mission and are greatly motivational and educational.
Welcome to beautiful Lanndon-on-Thames!
Pure quality content as always Kirby.
That is one fine dinner suit! And I hate cummerbunds so I'm so happy Kirby went for a proper waistcoat. That shirt is also to-die for! Full marks.
He actually went for both, they made him a cummerbund as well.
I like to take a sip of scotch everytime Kirby says "bespoke" in a video. I usually pass out before the end of the videos. It's an amazing time.
Man, that shirt is really something special! Amazing!
love these guys. Great video
..............G'day Kirby,
thank you for demonstrating beautiful sartorial splendor with such aplomb.
Cheers and God bless,
Malcolm.
The suit is obviously perfection, but that SHIRT...
Suyamba, more gorgeous than ever.
Indeed!!
Thats a phenomenal shirt just look how it sits around the collar
He certainly knows what he’s doing. The work is first class
Now Kirby will have to commission a suit every other week for us to continue enjoying the absolute delight to be at Kent&Haste
Nice video. I look forward to seeing your suit when it is ready.
The suit you are wearing in the beginning is beautiful, I love the
lines on the shoulders and the cut is generally fantastic.
Jeff
That is a beautiful jacket.
Dinner Jacket #1 is the best by a mile.
dude look like if reviewbrah and sheldon cooper had a kid. love this guy
My closet…or as I call it…museum of weight change…made me realize that a well fitted garment is a snap shot of one’s current weight and body shape.
27:55 - you welcome
Why?
@@Virtualghoul424Suyamba.
Your done Kirby. Shoulda had a Hestia when you had a chance 💨
Dad taught me double Windsor knot. In my opinion the symmetry is impeccable. Don’t really see it that often.
I am still trying to win the lottery to be able to get a fitting 😅
We're so back
🔥🔥🔥🔥!!
Yes, quite.🫡
Not convinced about need for a waistcoat but maybe I need to get out more 😂
Looks sharp. Solid conservative style
Hey Mr allison I noticed you said no watch with a dinner jacket how would you feel about wearing a low profile watch such as a reverso
Kirby! I know you've interviewed Tom Mahon in the past. But will you ever commission something at Redmayne?
More Suyumba, please!
chill
Hi my friend. Everything's fine Kirby? You did some numbers down on your weight don't ya?
Something looks much different about Kirby this time around
I need a suit for war cut out for me
I wonder if they would make something that has gone out of fashion, i.e. the evening white mess jacket.
Love to see Stephen stop what he’s doing when there’s comments on the collar.
You had to do the double-breasted jacket too small, in the old days, so that the single-breasted waistcoat underneath could be seen, because the jacket was left unfastened? I had to run that line through several times.
Kirby mate, are you ok? This is a rather dramatic weight loss ...
Ozempic old boy!
This is what he looked like when he started the channel.
Actually very interesting that Kent, Haste & Lachte seemed to have absolutely no problem with the weight loss over these fittings while Paolo seemed to be struggling on every fitting. And I think the result is absolutely stunning!
I thought that, he looks ill 😕
Kirby is the only American that is starving 😅
Splendid suit, but the shirt simply steels the show. I tip my hat!
The fact we regressed as a society from wearing suits from 19th century to 70's to only become a thing you see in higher up corporate sectors is a tragedy. We either get our crap together with sophistication or return to monkee.
there is a place and time to wear a suit, but day to day it doesn't make sense
The suit as we know it has been worn by the lower class towards the end of the 19th century and was disregarded as being for peasants and inappropriate for a true gentleman. So times change. ;)

What happened to his partner? The older gentleman…

Horseshoe vest too low. Come on kent and haste. Need better discretion with stuff like this. Make client look proper.
Kirby,
You really need to pull your shoulders back.
Where’s what’s her name?
28:00 there she is
قل اشهد ان لا اله الا الله واشهد ان محمد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم .
“Bespoke” may be the most pretentious word in the English language.
Why? It’s your resentful comment that is pretentious.
Tuxedo is not a word in english
Do you mean it's not British English? Because Kirby is American where a dinner suit is called a tuxedo...
