    I have a lot of "secret work" but how secret can they really be I love to share everything I do. Sometimes I realize something is a secret work when someone asks why does it work for you and not me. I have to do it again and focus on what I was doing and then watch what they do. Sometimes I realize I am doing things I didn't originally share with them. Then I share it. So, no I don't have Secret Work and at same time I do. However, I train for real life situations and in that respect sharing too much is a disadvantage, if you share it with the wrong person.

    Could you kindly indicate which Aikido technique is used in episode 8 (at 10:20 minutes) of anime "Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today" on Ani One CZcams channel, please? It seems somewhat like Shiho Nage. But it seems to be some differences thus I am not too sure. Thank you so much.

    Sensei I have questions about weight lifting, why is it not good for Aikido? I just started Aikido for almost 6 months now. I will have my 6th kyu test soon. I just want to share about my journey. At first when I started I just love to do the fall and learn to fall without breaking my bone but I did broke my fifth bone on the left feet so I have to take a break from the dojo for two months. Now I am coming back I start to be fall softly not throwing myself like before cause I didn’t really know how the fall work. Now I can say I started to know how to fall correctly. Since I coming back I started to focus on my technique cause when I practiced with the black belt on the advanced class I realized other class has been easy with me cause they don’t want to injure me and in the advance class they really made me feel the technique ( power, timing other things) I can’t figure it out and how to be good like them. So now I try to come to class every day hope that I can know how to do the technique like them. I find it hard to put my mind to get the martial arts in the Aikido. But when I practice with the black belt I do feel it. I actually have one more question how can a white belt develop the ability to do the technique correctly ? And advise for white belts to have in minds if they want to develop themselves when they want to learn the effectiveness of Aikido? Cause I know it take time you have to be consistent and always show up to the class but is it really that way?

      Thanks for asking. Weight lifting is not bad per se. The problem is that body building type of lifting causes the body to move in an inefficient way. No one lifts anything up lying on their back in real life. Because of muscle hypertrophy and inefficient movement patterns, our movement starts to become stiff and choppy. Ever seen a body builder run? Laborious. Now truth be told, I have started lifting weights again because I have two separated shoulders and a torn meniscus. My body type gains muscle fast so I have to figure out how to build strength without the stiffness that comes with lifting weights. Let me know if that answers your question.

    What's the name of the technique(sacrifice technique?)on the photo? And do you have an instructional on it?

      Hello. A sacrifice technique is called sutemi-waza. Here is one of the videos we have done. czcams.com/video/L2pAGSMDvGc/video.html

      @AikidoCenterLA thank you for reply.
      This is the version that I thought you might be using. I've seen similar stuff from Takeda Shihan and Lisa Toamaneli and I wish all of you the best for your efforts. I'll be sticking to the classic Sutemi Waza like Yoko Wakare for example 😉
