tomorrow i'll get my first offline japanese subject in class, kinda nervous tho😖 since i've been doing online school for 1 and half year of my high school
I'm definately going to be sticking around on this channel since i've always wanted to Japanese and study animation in Japan someday🙃 Thank You this video was very helpful i'll be sure to watch it over and over😁
I'm interested in learning Japanese and your channel helps a lot! I am learning so much things from your channel thank you! (English not my native language-)
this one is pretty useful, but there are a lot of more things about numbers right? like, for example, under which circumstances you use shi or yon? and the same for the 7 and 9. Also, what are the kanjis for these numbers? is there a difference in the writing for shi and yon, and so on? numbers are complicated topics in any language it seems XD
Yes there are different placements for numbers. For example in counting, the kanji for one which translates to ichi would be read as ichi 一 it’s onyomi/chinese reading) and in different contexts it can be read as something else, usually for counting things. For example, if we were talking about one person, or wanted to literally say (one person) then it would be read as it’s kunyomi (japanese) reading and turn into hito, with the hito (person) kanji 人 turning into ri, and if woild be read as hitori (一人 1人) Hope this made sense, if it doesn’t let me know ill gladly try to restate it lol
Hi, I'm currently learning Japanese and your channel helps me so much in my learning journey. As a beginner, I'm a little bit confused about some numbers with 2 different names. Can anyone help me explain in which specific cases I should use one of those names, or is it based on my preference? Thank you!:)))
I am not an expert but I learned that there are two versions of every number from 1-10. This is because there is the Chinese way of counting and another more Japanese one. Japan uses both systems but in a lot of cases for different things. For example: If you want to talk about two things you can say futatsu but not nitsu. However, I have never heard anyone use ya instead of hachi if they were counting. I don't know why that is but there is a rule. The chinese readings (On-yomi) are: ichi ni san shi go roku shichi hachi kyuu juu The Japanese readings (Kun-yomi) are: hito futo mi yon itsu mu nana ya kokono juu
To add onto @SS Hotaru’s comment incase you are confused the kun-yomi readings of the numbers are usually used as counters for objects. For example, if we take the kanji hito 人 which means person and combine it with one of the number kanjis, say ichi 一 for example, ichi 一 would be read as hito instead. It would be read like this 一人 (romaji/romanization: hitori) sometimes you can also see that word (meaning one person) written as this: 1人 with the actual number replacing the kanji for it. Hope this helps
Fun and clear-pronounced video for beginers, the test helps memorize the numbers, highly recommended. I appreciate your effort! 對初學者來說是有趣、和發音清晰的影片,小測有助記憶日文數字,非常推薦。欣賞你的付出!

We can't learn any language without characters. And counting is kinda difficult if we use in sentences. Love your vids 💜💜love from India 💜💜
Ok My opinion Duolingo helps but like léase Ing the characters in Japanese but the información is not really godo for like Numbers, Colors or things like that.

In italian are easy you only need to remember 1,2,3...9 after that 10 20 30 40....90 100 1000 100000 1000000....
Yes, all numbers use kanji but since it’s for beginners it doesn’t use kanji. (To others who are beginners learning Japanese)
It has the same structure as Chinese! Makes it much better to learn
十三 13
四十六 46
八十一 81
