    Love your content bro!! how about in season? how many days a week u in the weight room,? and what changes for your weight room sessions from off to in season?

    • @nikoschultz4306
      @nikoschultz4306  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Thank you! So in season I only do 2 days a week & since I just started outdoor season it is a bit more aggressive, for example the other day I had 3x5 squat all the way up to 315 & 5x3 hang clean up to 215 in the same day.
      But as we get closer to championship season we lower the volume like crazy. I might even go to 1 day a week closer to nationals and all the lifts are just going to be light and easy(maintaining my strength)
      Off season weights are tailored to build general strength in all areas of the body, very similar to building a base with miles as a distance runner. Then when you get in season your main focus is explosiveness & stability (similar to a runner doing speed workouts to get ready for his peak)
      Hope this helps!

    Great video. I am curious to know, why you train upper-body as much as you do. One would think it isn't necessary for an 800m running and that is taking energy away from your leg training?

    • @nikoschultz4306
      @nikoschultz4306  Před 4 měsíci

      It is to make sure your body is proportional. Can’t focus too much on just one area. However my lower body is a lot stronger than my upper body. My bench is terrible but my squat and hang cleans are really good.

    Hey man I’m entering my final outdoor season running 1:58 outdoor pb no pr in 800 indoor but prs in 600 and 400. Hoping to end my highschool career with a sub 1:55. Any advice for staying consistent and training more optimally?

    • @nikoschultz4306
      @nikoschultz4306  Před 5 měsíci +3

      Yeah man, my high school pr was 1:54 indoor and the best advice i got for training optimally is having training partners that are hungry for success. Even if they are not as fast as you, having competitive people around you, especially during the difficult workouts will separate you from being an average 800 m runner to a extraordinary 800 m runner.
      Another tip i have is doing the small things right, fall in love with your warm up routine, the workouts, the cool downs, the recovery, and the overall process of being a runner.
      Before you know it, youll be a sub 1:50 guy because you been showing up everyday with a smile on your face, putting in solid work, and growing closer and closer to your max potential.
      It will not happen over night, but slowly over time, you will outgrow everyone around you and all your competition. Day by Day, put in the work, there really is not cheat code besides hard work and stacking small wins which eventually turn into huge wins.
      Go get it man!

    That much muscle weight on the upper body especially on the arms and breasts seems unnecessary for the 800m, if you see the top 800m they are kinda slim and even the 400 guys. But i can understand it from an aesthetic point of you, a little muscle on the upper body makes you look better.

      Last season it was too much and my pr capped out at 1:48, i was 164 pounds last season. Now im 152 pounds but just a lot more lean & cut. Last season i was cut & too bulky. I definitely am still adjusting to my body & my physique but this definitely helps as i ran 1:47 indoors & 46 split.

    What time do you think is better in comparison? A 50.5 400m or a 1:59 800m?

    • @nikoschultz4306
      @nikoschultz4306  Před 5 měsíci +1

      In my opinion, I think the 50.5 is more impressive but they are just about equal. My PR's my sophomore year of highschool were 1:59 & 49.9 so they are basically about even but that 50.5 speed is crucial to 800 success. What do you think?
