    The logo is from the 70s era. It started with Jon Pertwee, then continued with Tom Baker. Its iconic.

      @@zemoxian It's a UNIT dating controversy joke about how the production intention was very much that the 3rd/4th Doctor UNIT episodes of the 70s are set in near future of the 80s but are completely undermined by later 5th Doctor episodes that assume they were set when they aired in the 70s. So there are a lot of inside jokes about that ambiguity.

    Okay so mine and a few other whovians theories about the whole “let it go” thing is;
    A joke about how previous male presenting time lords have always struggled to let go of the doctor BUT Jodie’s doctor welcomes it with open arms.
    Another one is that its been a known fact since classic who that Female presenting time lords are more powerful and have more control. As shown by The Rani when she tells the doctor he’s stuck with his regeneration but she can change her appearance if she wants and when Romana I regenerated into Romana II she took the face of Princess Astra willingly because she wanted to.
    Also shown by River in Let’s Kill Hitler when she tells Rory to be quiet while she focuses on a dress size! Also when she chooses to give up all her remaining regenerations to save The Doctor’s life!
    I like both and think both apply but people are torn between

      That’s a good point about Jodie, although I haven’t watch her season I did see that episode:)
      Ooh I’m looking forward to watching these episodes now, unfortunately I haven’t watched them yet but that sounds really interesting. It’s definitely a good theory, thanks!

    As a person who’s not exactly cis, I wouldn’t say that the reason Rose is trans is because of the Time Lord aspect of her, but instead that the meta-crisis is the reason that she feels ‘different’. (I.e., her gender being different is not the same as her ‘alien’ nature)
    As someone who is Agender (so under the non-binary umbrella), but also neurodivergent, I can assure you that the part of me that feels like an alien among humans stems from the neurospicy part of me.
    As to the binary/non-binary, I think it was just a really neat way of expressing the totality of the Doctor’s nature: not only about gender, but about how they think, function around other species, & exist in a world literally alien to who they are as a person without a species.
    Loved the story, & reaction 💜💜➕🟦

      Ah, thanks for the explanation, that makes sense💖
      I appreciate you sharing with me and I love the term neurospicy!
      That's a great way to put it, I never saw the term as a way of expressing the Doctor's nature as a whole before, so I really like your description of that!💙

    Hey there :) another fellow Whovian from the olden times. I would recommend you pick up Doctor Who again. It would be a lovely series for you to react to on your channel. This episode was a continuation from the 13th Doctor. There has been a lot of history and beautiful story in between the 10th Doctor (David Tennant) until now. A jounrey into Matt Smith's and Peter Capaldi's eras as The Doctor would definitely be a fun experience for you, as well as new followers/viewers :)

    • @ReactandRamble
      @ReactandRamble  Před 8 měsíci +5

      I might just do that! I did see one episode of Matt Smith's, the Vincent Van Gogh one and that moment at the end was expertly written and acted, it really packed an emotional punch. I guess I was just very disappointed David Tennant left at the time so I struggled to get into a new Doctor. From the little clips I have seen, I am intrigued with Capaldi's Doctor and would like to see more of him. Thanks for the comment! :)

    If this was 2008 this would be a pretty mid tier RTD episode. In 2023, after five years of uninspired and mediocre-at-best Doctor Who, this episode felt like the best thing ever. Great reaction, I'd definitely watch more!

    • @SunniestAutumn
      @SunniestAutumn Před 9 měsíci +5

      That is not true. Us Doctor Who fans need to let go of our hang-ups regarding other people's preferences. I stuck with Doctor Who for five years, during which it actually kinda sucked. The episodes were, in my opinion, boring, unimpressive and most often mediocre at best. I stuck with it and now I am actually happy to watch the show again, but I would blame nobody for giving one era of the show a go before deciding to give up on it, whether it was Matt Smith era, Capaldi era, Whittaker era or even this new upcoming era. As long as people do it for right reasons (such as personal preferences) instead of completely stupid ones (such as saying the show is too "woke" because the Doctor is a woman or because there is a trans character), taking a break from the show doesn't make you less of a fan.

    • @quietdemon8138

      @@SunniestAutumnit does it literally does make you less of a fan, a TRUE fan sticks with the show in its highest moments and the lowest, anyone who claimed to be one for one Doctor’s era and then dropped it to me doesn’t deserve to be called one

    • @mareiramv
      @mareiramv Před 8 měsíci +5

      No such thing as a true fan or fake poser fan. People are fans if they like and are invested in whatever it is they are consuming. I love Spider-Man, does that mean I have to watch every single cartoon, read every single comic watch every single movie? No. If you can't accept that some people can be fans but also be more casual consumers, then you really should rethink the way you see things.

    • @quietdemon8138
      @quietdemon8138 Před 8 měsíci

      @@mareiramvSpider-Man and The Doctor are two completely different characters so that comparison doesn’t work, the different versions of Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy etc are fundamentally different people whereas The Doctor IS the same being every time they regenerate, I’m standing by my opinion that anyone who stopped watching when David left was never a true fan they just jumped on the bandwagon and then jumped off once ‘their’ Doctor left, if anything regeneration deserves to be praised and respected because it’s what has allowed the show to last 60 years
