that dubsteppy sort of bass you asked about at around 4 minutes of your video, that was Layne. He uses inhale bass and throat bass as his bass techniques, while Geoff uses regular voice (also sometimes a very breathy voice), subharmonic and growl as his bass techniques. Layne's techniques can't really be used for proper singing, but they do produce some pretty funky and cool bass sounds. so if you hear bass sounds that sound very different than what you are used to hearing from Geoff, it will be Layne doing them. You also saw the camera focused on Layne during that part, a typical sign of who is making the sounds you're hearing. 🙂
The inhale bass is so fascinating to me because obviously I can do some low notes and have bee practicing subharmonics but I tried to do an inhale note while typing this and I choked on my air 😂😂 these guys are amazing.
This was filmed in an abandoned department store. The graffiti and vandalism was already there. They had to cover up some of it before filming. Also... Voiceplay released their new video on their patreon Thursday.. It should be on CZcams soon. J None is back in this one. Geoff Castelucci just posted his new video on his patreon A week ago. He brought back the 4 Dwarves from his Misty Mountain Cold video. He will premiering it on CZcams June 9th. Both are absolutely beautiful.
No easter eggs in this one, the set isn't a set, it's an actual abandoned building, so they couldn't alter anything. they don't always have easter eggs in their videos. As for Anthony, he's pretty huge on tiktok, and also sings in an a cappella group of his own. an amazing young singer.
The guy you don't know is Anthony Gargiula, pronounced Garjoola, he was a Tik Tok singer I believe, and appeard in VP's Just Sing as someone they hoped to work with, then appeared in their Golden Hour. He has a brilliant voice. I don't know who was doing the sounds you refer to but it's been done in post production, something electronic to distort the voice. I am ignorant of such things but know it can be done. Some incredible sounds in this. I've watched so many dramas now where they flip bakcwards and forwards in time that I didn't find the coming and going odd at all. :)
I had the same reaction about the escalator as you when I first saw it. When you look closer, each of the guys are making an entrance, Eli with his bat, Cesar on the escalator, Anthony G. coming around the corner, Geoff coming down a hall with stuff on the floor, Layne picking up a window frame, later a pipe. I noticed that Cesar's progress up the escalator was interrupted - pick up where it left off later, and again and again. Same for the rest of the group. Their entrances were broken up into 3 or 4 pieces of the video and interspersed into the video. In case you are interested Geoff has done a couple of videos on how to sing really low.
Ah it did kinda look like they were making an entrance. And ooh I have to check out those geoff videos. I can sing pretty low and can hit some subharmonics (check this one out czcams.com/users/shortsV4UeYaRNZ5I?feature=share ) but it's always good to learn new things, especially from someone as talented as geoff
Cesar was also chilling on the stairs in Dream On, which was a prequel to this one. I think it's just his post-Apocalyptic thing. Maybe it makes it easier to pick off any approaching zombies before they can reach him? Although a rope might not be the ideal choice of weapons for that. XD

Their next video goes back in time somewhat, but still has that swagger. Look for it to be released soon.

I would say that the 'importance' of Anthony is rather obvious as soon as he opens his mouth and starts singing. 😅 You've missed out so far on previous song they did together, Golden Hour. They have also done a couple of shorts that are recommended listening. First time we meet Anthony is in Just Sing where the csptions say: We haven't collaborated yet, but we want to. Now they finally did. Extended VP family, his mother and Eli's are longtime friends.
I'm gonna have to check out golden hour and just sing. Definitely interested in the backstop of Mr Anthony because is voice was amazing along with the rest of them.

As far as I know, this was shot in an abandoned store in a shopping center in Orlando and all of the graffiti was already there and some of it was not suitable to show to all audiences so they put masking tape over it. I feel this song showcases all of their talents better than anything else they have done. All six of the individuals shine.
