This is an awesome resource, really nice to see it all detailed like this with a demonstration. The only substantial difference I hear A/B referencing with some comparable tracks in the OST, some of the lead synths feel a lot more forward in the mix than was generally common in SA2. Could simply be mixing, or maybe additional EQ or saturation on those synths stems by the mastering engineer. Something like SPAN (free) with Dan Worrall's recommended settings might help dial in those mix and master details. Also, thank you a bunch for the impulse response!

For better or worse, I've been researching Sonic music for the better part of 6 years (and there are actually some members like Collision Chaos Radio who have been going for 10+ years) so I'm fine on that front! I will definitely get to Kumatani, but for that episode, I'll have to get a jazz band (which isn't impossible but will cost some money) to emulate Rouge's music.

I haven't found any drums for the Shadow songs in SA2, but I would guess they were added by Kumatani since she reuses loops from them in later games she composed for (e.g. the Supporting Me drumloop is in Via Tubus from Phantasy Star Online Episode III)
We sadly did away with our old GEM S2 a long time ago, before I even knew it was used in Sonic & bought my Trinity. Very sad to look back on, but the thing was pretty busted, so I guess it was inevitable. Still have the manual lying around.
Yeah, sounds about right. Of the few pictures that I could find of existing S2s, most of them were not looking very good. It was super difficult to get mine; I had to have a friend from Italy proxy ship it to me, so I was really lucky not only to find one and get it but have it in good condition as well. I might try to find an S2 Turbo or S2R soon.

could you maybe show how you mixed your fender to sound like jun's esp? i'd love to hear the difference. im assuming you mixed the clean signal before running it through the amp, but idk how those two guitar's clean tones differ.
is it possible to recreate the Korg Trinity's A030 Spectrum Lead using the Korg M1? I've been trying because I don't have a trinity, but I'd love to have that sound.
@@NUKELEDGE We just started assembling the team yesterday so we have no budget yet, what about a cut of around 35% for you when its done or something like that, or you could also keep the rights for them and make individual profit out of them, if not idk we just started, we dont have a full plan yet, so probably music still wont be done until we have some prototypes and we dont have programmers yet, just tell me what you think, it will also be my first game so idk.

I don't use a Mac or Logic Pro. I use FL Studio which is available for Windows.

The effects chain that I showed goes after the amp. It's a bit of multiband compression with OTT, then a HPF and cutting out high-minds around 12k.
could you cover sonic cd or unleashed next? i feel those 2 games capture broad areas of the franchise
