I am a teacher and tell this to all of my students at least once week. I lost my father at 52 to type 2. I have since changed my life using 48 and 72 hour fasts. I went from having blood sugars in the 300s. I tested it today and tested at 81. This man speaks the truth. The less sugar you have and the less frequent you eat the lower your sugar will go. Do not use medicine from the doctor as it will make you even more sick. If you value your own life you will do whatever it takes to make the changes necessary to be healthy. At the end of the day it's always about discipline.

I agree. I have controlled my blood sugar without meds but my doctor keeps giving me meds to take. The meds make me sick and I really don't need them. I am using the natural way of controlling my blood sugar, I feel much better. My blood sugar was 284 to 320 after meals. Today, all day I kept it less than 120. I had a healthy pizza and keto cheese cake. Today was my cheat day.😋
Now I can control my blood sugar without giving up my favorite foods. I can do this because I do intermittent fasting and eating one meal a day. I don't feel hungry at all, I drink one glass of celery juice every morning and my glucometer is my best friend. I test my blood sugar before and 1 hour after meals, to see what meals spike my blood sugar. Great video!

I was diagnosed as diabetic last year... it didn't make sense, I was not overweight... 189 lbs. But numbers don't lie. I went kicking and screaming into using a meter... but I had to as I had a glucose of 486+ a year ago and a 7.8 A1c, Doc tried to put me on meds, but I went for a keto diet. It was hard as I have always had a sweet tooth (cookies, cake, donuts, sodas, more cookies). 4 months ago I was down to a 6.8 A1c and glucose levels of 180-140 (Doc tried to get me on meds again, but I thew out the prescription), 4 months after that I am now at a 5.2 A1c and 98-110 glucose levels and my weight was 184 lbs... all because I just changed my diet to keto/paleo. I found the comments in all the CZcams videos were very helpful for me so I am adding my experience.

And another HUGE problem is after meal blood sugar levels!!! Because many people who are pre and even very early type 2 can have "normal" fasting levels simply because they are still making insulin and after 8 plus hours of not eating their bodies can get their blood sugar down into normal. If you could provide some info on what blood sugars should be after eating it would help a lot if people out as well.

I'm controlling it with out any issues, other than exercising will power, in not eating cakes, bread, donuts, etc. which if I could would be 100 percent of my diet. I don't know why it is the thing you crave the most is the thing you can't have, but that is life. When I want a big slice of cake or something unhealthy, I just ask myself, which foot do I want to have chopped off, and that pretty much helps curb my desire for sugary things to eat.

    30 min. After eating:
    Ketones: 1.2🔻

    Ketones: Lo🔻
    Glucose: 106🔺
    120 min. After eating:
    Ketones: 1.6🔺
    Glucose: 96🔺
I usually do OMAD But today since I’m testing different foods I have to say that I was not 8 hrs fasted before starting this test, I ate about 3hrs. and 50 min. Before testing some food.
So is this spike of 131 normal 30 min. after a meal? Took me 15 min. to finish that lunch, too fast for me!

I am very concerned for my health now I am 31 years old I am pregnant my first child so doctor my blood sugar is not stable. Fasting between 100-110 and two hours after food will be between 96-106 . I have to check my blood sugar every other day before breakfast. BSugar is always 178, 198, 160 never in the 90-130 range.
If I check my Blood Sugar before dinner it’s better in the normal range. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong I think it’s the dinner I’m eating but I try to stay away from sugar.

I’ve always been fortunate enough to be on the lower end of BG values, even after eating. I also know of no blood relatives that are diabetic. - I grew up on a small farm, in Germany... were “organic, non-gmo, grass-fed keto style eating” was and still is something that is a normal lifestyle diet. - When I came to the US to go to university, 30 years ago... I slowly ended up moving into a more “conventional US diet”. My BG values still tended to be in the normal range, but definitely higher, than before. 3+ years ago, I started a keto diet to lose 30lbs and have since remained on keto, for health and well-being.... and my BG values have dropped down to my “Germany levels.” My fasting BG is anywhere from 77-84, during intermittent fasting.... and around 72-75 when I do a 24-48 hr water fast. And anywhere from 1-2 hrs after eating, the highest has been no more than 110. - I don’t have a particular sweet tooth and therefore don’t consume a lot of sweetened foods.... which probably avoids the spikes that some sweets can cause, even if one uses the “healthier” sweetener options available. If I (rarely) want for “sweet” it will be a little bit of fruit with some full fat cheese, whipped cream or homemade coconut cream yoghurt.... or a only mildly sweetened keto-friendly homemade ice cream/gelato.

    • @Jan96106
      @Jan96106 Před 4 lety

You don't want to go by the guidelines. Normal for most people without blood sugar problems who don't eat a lot of junk is 4.4 or 4.5 HBA1C, per Dr. Berstein. For a diabetic the guidelines are 7 or lower, but most doctors would like it a lot lower than that as a 7 means average blood sugar around 150 which is high. They'd prefer 6.0 or lower or in the pre-diabetes category if possible (5.4, 5.5). But it depends on medications. If you take insulin, you run the risk of dropping blood sugar too low and maybe going into a coma. If not on medications , the lower the better. I hope that helps. The more years your blood sugar levels stay high, the more beta cells you destroy. I am assuming you are talking about type 2 diabetes. Type one is a different disease, but type 1 diabetics still do better eating fewer carbs and injecting less insulin. They have fewer complications.

Been keto 14 months. Same with my husband. His insulin is a 3 so it has nothing to do with insulin resistance. I have been trying to figure it out and am not totally sure what is causing it but it seems to just be how he functions. I am not worried about it just curious as to why he is so different than average.
Thanks for sharing. Knowing that it obviously happens to others (probably lots of ppl but they just don't check) makes me more sure that it just has something to do with how some ppl operate.

      *Diebetes /
So now you can count your diebetec limit as 100 + your age.
      No Doctor can guide u.
      No one will advice u.
      But its a bitter truth.!

The other side question is if you get up to go to the bathroom say around 3:00 and go back to bed dies that mess up your resting glucose if you then go to bed and get up around 6:30/7? Thx

The famous guy from the 1960's who fasted for over 300 days had a blood glucose starting at about 50 going down to 30 and stabilizing. Doubtless, this is also a result of his body become completely fat adapted over a six month period.
There is also, apparently, a study of students in the 1970's who had a glucose level of 50 after only a few days fasting. It is important to note that both of these studies were before the big change in diet that correlates with the obesity epidemic. Is this a difference in measurement technique or, in fact, as a society have we been so adapted to eating carbohydrates for 40 years that we all have insulin resistance and the more recent studies are biased to a higher level which is, in fact not normal for a healthy diet.?
When fasting I really struggle when my glucose goes below about 80 but am definitely insulin resistant.
    Great video. Thank you.
