John is totally correct, to study virtually anything, it has to be multidisciplinary, which cognitive science definitely is. Even when you study such things like the nature of mathematics, in a heartbeat, you're into ideas of language and not mathematics per se. When you REALLY scale problems down to seek their original source, you go through so many academic disciplines to get there. It's one reason why education should be multidisciplinary, regardless of chosen field.

how an MD can reach to cognitive sciences, I'm curious. neurology and psychiatry are the fields that can be linked easily to cognitive science. the application of such construct to solve the mysteries of schizophrenia, dementia, sequelae of any other diseases such as vascular disease with language impairment. I'm still a student but I'm always interested in the way we think, logic driven by words or by numbers. how a brain can do these things? ??? and how we unlock, and trear efficiently the aquired impairments.

With respect to Indian universities, many IITs offer their masters program in Cognitive sciences. Mainly, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur. Apart from these, CBCS and Chandigarh University also offers their masters program. COGJET is an exam specifically for admission in cognitive sciences through which one can get into some of these institutions. These are open for graduates of all backgrounds.

Hey John I'm hopeful you'll reply to this but I doubt it. Is there some way I could speak more about cognitive science with you I'm interested in the field but worried that my lack of knowledge and ...well... interest in some of the sub classes that make cognitive science AI and computer science for example. I'm wondering and worried if I have to know the field to be able to communicate it perfectly and use it along with other sub classes to have a "language" that's more comprehensive or if the skill of communication is more important.
I feel like and have so for a while that if you understand a concept fully that with the right communication skills you can teach that concept to anyone so I'm worried that If I don't understand "a.i. or computer science" I won't have the skill to communicate and use it to work with the other sub classes of cognitive science like psychology linguistics anthropology and philosophy.

yeah thats doable but if computer science is your passion you might as well do bachelors in CS and Masters in CS. If you want an undergrad degree that covers multiple subjects including Philosophy, neuroscience, CS and linguistics then cognitive science is the way to go. If you take the cognitive science path for bachelors you can look into Machine learning or computation for masters. Hope that helped
