- Overt racism is easy to identify. But what about unconscious bias - soft prejudices that we all have, but of which we are basically unaware? In today’s heated social and global climate, this lack of awareness can deeply impact your professional and personal life, as well as the way you unintentionally communicate and think. It can even have serious economic ramifications.
This provocative talk will take a deep dive into the subject, where you will confront your own biases and see how you - regardless of race, status, income or education - have been a victim of unconscious bias. Yes, you are right! I am prejudiced and I know it. I wanna be a better person and free my mind from this kind of stupidy. However it's no use saying you are not when it is still not true.

I didn't think she COULDN'T do those things. If you asked me if she could, I'd say yeah, why not? But I definitely wouldn't have presumed that she was actively actually doing those things.

Statistically most of models are not disabled. It is very natural to make stories about ppl like that, that saves your time, cuz you don’t have to study the person unless you have to, cuz that’s your job if you an hr manager or something. Ppl also manage the message they give to other ppl and impression they make
It's natural, but still a prejudice: You are assuming things about a person, without knowing the facts.
So you open with a BS question ("What does she do?") as if most normal people wouldn't answer "How should I know?" I can't believe people actually buy into this nonsense. True enough that we don't normally think of RUNway models as people in wheelchairs, but that says more about the modeling industry than it does about us. And overall, what's the problem? So people won't be able to guess your job just by looking at you. Have we really become so spoiled, that this deeply upsets us?
We can’t be judged based on our unconscious choices like in this test. Only on conscious ones. Unconsciously we are machines of survival of our genes. Selfish in all cases except for those when being altruistic is self-beneficial. Ready to destroy anything that stands in our way. That is why those reflex memory tests don’t mean anything. Our ability to make conscious choices makes us moral agents. (if you agree with morality models of behaviour).
In addition to that we can’t see anything as it is even in theory. Not just other people, but anything in the universe. We can only see how thing appear to our senses and how things can be interpreted given the specifics of our brain and nervous system. So, I guess try to fight the irritation of doubt and satisfaction of belief and don’t rush to conclusions, but deal with the fact that there is no such thing as objective truth. Everything to a certain degree is defined by who presides it.

The only thing worth listening to is the final thought. Dont judge a book by its cover. This talk is certainly not worth listening to. Nothing important said. Just a how to guide on how to judge people and be an bigot.

She even said in the video if you listened to it that everyone carries some unconscious bias, including herself. Sounds to me that you didn't watch the video or you wouldn't have commented what you did.
