Bring back Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonalf amazing singers together. Still makes me cry. We were so lucky to have had and heard them all those years ago. I am 91 they still sound perfection itself. So wonderful. I thank God for my iPhone such pleasures.
miller forester: Because it’s a movie whose purpose was to take you away from everyday problems. And that’s not the real world even for Canadian Mounties who speak and sing like an American.
Jeannette MacDonald was one of a kind. So beautiful, and sang like a sweet bird. So sad she passed away so young. I use to watch these old movies with my mom in N.Y. such wonderful memories.
His voice is deep and manly and her voice high pitched and very feminine and they sing beautifully. Both have the capability of making one feel when they sing. What a wonderful combination they made.
Am so honored and humbled to have the joy of Mac & Eddy 's love songs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will be 80 years old in five days !!!! The Good Lord has blessed and protected me. Love Mac & Eddy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you both a hundred million times !!!!!!!!!!!! Love, Robert Hu Jan. 26, 2022
On a lighter note, my aunt Miriam back in Dayton Ohio, (who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket) once was sitting under a dryer in the beauty parlour. She began to 'sing' this song, not realizing that others could hear her; and she couldn't understand why everyone around her was laughing.
Dearest nelson! Today is your 118 birth anniversary ,we cherish your memory and highly appreciate your greatest talents, heavenly voice ,your truly love and devotion to jeanette, close relationships with your mommy isabel, the greatest mother in the world who created such a wonder ,her beloved sonny a remarkable personality , very talented and admired by all who are always with you i love you dearly forever
The first time I heard this Aria from the movie ROSE MARIE, in 1950, a Remarkable pair of Nelson eddy and Jeanette Mac Donald as you go through them then fall into the nostalgic in
There is something so haunting about this particular song and those two together singing to one another, like the residual energy found in old houses and places that hold memories so powerful, they keep echoing back to us in this time. This is the real deal with them. You can hear their hearts, those poor fated darlings.
Saw this beautiful movie when it first came out many years ago, and today, I still find it as my all time favorite film. Fantastic actors, scenery, music, story line, etc. I wish we had movies today as good as these were, but I don't see it coming from Hollyweird.
Thank you so beautiful a gift to all...the Love they sang about and the love they are and shared as one God bless them forever to remain one in their beautiful love
I grew up hearing this pair of songbirds and I love there music so much that I play it as often as I can. My mother used to sing to the old 78 we had. She is gone now but I will always make sure that I have this on my playlist as anything they sang was and still is some of the most beautiful music of all time.
My mum and Dad's favorite singers,I used to hear my dad singing these songs, when mum passed away 1970, he would sing so good, brings tears to my eyes hearing this music,😂😂I always think of them,😂😂
Aren’t I lucky to still be alive at 91 to Listen to Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald singing. And see their pictures as well. No one in this world will ever sing like them. Thank you so much ❤
My aunt Claudia she trained to sing when she was a young girl and she used to sing this song A long long time ago I think she's around 89 now I would love to hear her sing now she sings mostly at pow wows now but she just drowns out the other lady singers her voice is so beautiful I would love to hear her sing this again my mother used to love this song too she passed in 2003 the se two Jeanette McDonald this is just so so beautiful Nelson Eddie has a beautiful voice too I love this version thank you so much I listen to it all the time
What lovely memories this bring to mind. I'm 87 years old and I remember every movie they did from the age I was 6 or 7 years old, how I loved these movies, my mother loved, Americas Sweethearts, so would she take me and my sister to all of them when they showed their movies at our neighborhood theater. This was 1939 or 40. As young as I was, I was completely enthralled with their movies, I loved them, and as I grew up I would wonder where they went why didn't they make anymore movies of course no one had the answers then of course I found out much later when I was an adult. Their love story is a classic example of the control Hollywood Producers had on their Actors, they ruined so many lives with their meddling. Judy Garland comes to mind, she became addicted to drugs because of them. I want to compliment everyone for this video and all the ones you have made of these precious two. Thank you, I have a question for anyone who can please let me know the answer to this. back in the late 50's Television shows were still live . I saw a program in which Jeanette was the main person and Nelson Eddy was brought on to sing one of their songs, halfway through the song he choked up and stood there frozen, Jeanette stood up and went to him and took his hands in hers and he suddenly started singing and finished the song. It was so beautiful, it was like she brought the song right out of him. This was after she was already married to Gene Raymond, thanks to Louis B Meyer. It was not "This Is Your Life". I have searched all over the internet, my hope is someone in the Fan Base may Know. Thank You in advance. And may God Almighty bless you all!
I am 81 & Nelson & jeannette were & still my favorite singers. Sad that kids these days have never heard of them or heard them sing Thank you so much for your tribuate to them. You did a wonderful job with it & I so appreciate it. I go to sleep hearing them sing Indian Love Call. One of my favorites. Such a shame those two were not let to get married. Thanks again letting me be able to hear them on my phone
This lovely couple: Nelson and Jeanette makes the entire world understand that LOVE is so vital to a happierlife. Their songs resonate with me and I can hear them everyday and want more. Thank you so very much.RIP!!!!!! Me ke aloha pumehana (With much love and aloha) Sincerely, Robert S.J. HU

8/23/2014 Jeanette MaCDonald and Nelson Eddy.......the most romantic couple ever.....Y remember their 30's and 40's movies.... what a beautiful movies......never seeing again.....they showed people how to love.
Aloha Mac and Eddie !!!!!!!!! Love your singing always, especially "Indian Love Call." Your singing has blessed my life and extended my life span gloriously !!!!! I'm not kidding. Am 78 years and more new days to come if God permits it !!!!!!!!! Mac and Eddy are my number one "love couple duet." Robert S.J. Hu Sept. 25, 2020.
Am 80 years old and so privileged and honored to have Mac & Eddy sing this magical love ballad for me !!!!!! Thank you so very much !!!! Robert S.J. Hu March 12, 2022.
This song reminds me of my grandfather, who would often sit at our piano and play this tune when he visited our home. We had it performed at his funeral. It brings back fond memories. Thanks!
(continued) Thanks a million for this ultimate and emotional (for me) tribute to the legendary memory of Jeanette and Nelson. Thank you too for the acknowledgement. I am humbled by your amazing generosity in providing us with classy videos for our unending thrill and enjoyment. This is a very special song of Nelson and his Jenny for me and for it to be immortalized in a dramatic but lovely, romantic and poignant way...it is truly a work of incredible art!
What glorious voices ... brings back memories of a bursting chest full of wishing, yearning and calling the loved ones when they were away ... to finally feeling that relief and overflowing joy when you greeted each other again. I think I am among the lucky ones who allowed themselves to (a) feel that way whether you have won or lost in love's battles, and (b) to be aware of it. So many people have no idea what such expressions are worth ...
paulitza9 correction ... I think I am among the lucky ones here on this site, expressing our joys and appreciation with others ... sharing as one would with a best friend or close family member ...
This video is so beautifully put together, the music, the pictures, Jeanette and Nelson. It is a priviledge to have been able to see it. Thank you Baz, Vonnie and Maria.
My heart is so full and the tears are just streaming down my cheeks. This is so incredibly beautiful, you can actually feel the love flowing between them. Thank you Baz for your masterful skills and Vonnie for your inspired artistry and Maria for the heart and soul you bring to honoring our beloved Sweethearts.
I appreciate this so much. My Grandmother's favorite film of all time. She introduced it to me 50 years ago. Im near 58 now and she is long gone but hearing this song brings back the beauty of her, in my memories, sitting in front of the tv, crying to this beautiful song & movie. I hold this dear to my heart forever. Thank you for posting. (wiping away my own tears too)
I am 71. We will never see this approach to popular music again in our lifetime. But I didn't have to tell you that, did I? I took the course in Romantic Literature from Dr. Austin C. Dobbins at Samford University (Birmingham, Alabama) in about 1963. If I learned correctly, Romanticism was a reaction to the Industrial Revolution and to Newtonian physics, both of which seemed to reduce life to an unpleasant, cut-and-dried, even dirty existence. In fact, Dr. Dobbins asserted that the eighteenth century emphasized thought, the nineteenth emphasized feeling, and the twentieth went back to thought. Well, the twenty-first is still stuck in the realm of thought, isn't it? The Industrial Revolution had nothing on this Techno-graphic, drumbeat-and-graphics culture that the younger generation is so obsessed with. No, we'll never in our lifetime see a swing back to Feeling and its concomitant emphasis upon the beauty of nature. Such would be heresy to the present generation-in-charge of the popular culture. I can only hope that the next generation, those who are in grade school now, may swing back to Feeling, having gotten sick and tired of hearing a synthesized drumbeat every day of their life.
Although and oldie I used to hear this song a lot since my late Dad had the record. I always liked it, the duet both singers make is beautiful. -Beautiful and so Romantic really with such talented singers and very nice lyrics.
My sister and I would stay up all night to see one of their movies on t.v, I never cared for any of the colorization so until I saw this. The pianist was from another world. The music came from angels above. I am so afraid that beautiful Baritone and Soprano voice will be lost to the ages. I think I am so grateful to the artists that made this wonderful video. If you know any young person you have any influence over please try to influence them PLEASE TRY TO GET THEM TO LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AND THE MOVIES. I am reading SHaron HIlls book, If you are a fan you must read it yes it is sad but I pray they are together now.
I am a nurse in a nursing home. I take care of Carmen who is 102. We spoke one night about her favorite music in her life. I came across your channel and lie my phone next to her one good ear and play. Her eyes light up and she is so happy she cries. Thank you. You have made our time together so special!
The Philippines' foremost educator and diplomat - General Carlos P. Romulo - loved this song that before he died, he asked that this song be played on his funeral procession. He was a former Secretary of the United Nation's Security Council who stood up against Russian Nikita Khruschev on security matters. The Russian in his anger, threw his shoes at him,
Good to hear and to watch too. I wonder why can't we have man-woman duets like this nowadays in which their voices combine perfectly. Both singers taken alone had great voices but combined the results are simply spectacular!!!
(continued) their film that they are most famous for; the most picturesque shots of Lake Tahoe in all its natural glory; weaving the beautiful and haunting melody of Rudolf Friml, both vocal and orchestral interpretations into the fabric of your video tapestry, and creating such dramatic impact by transitioning from black and white to the gorgeous colorized photos by Vonnie (thanks so much, Vonnie). This is truly a masterpiece beyond description, Baz. (see next comment)
Yes, they were, and also at Lake Cascade adjacent to Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe. It's a beautiful part of West Lake Tahoe area. If you haven't been there, you should put it on your bucket list.
Great exterior still shots. "Indian Love Call" is, in my opinion, the most romantic song ever recorded on film. It may also be the most romantic song ever recorded..
Hi Baz: what can I say about this elegant, magnificent, fantastic and truly ultimate video of my favorite duet from our 2 darlings? I will run out of adjectives in describing this, the best Christmas gift I will cherish not just from this holiday season but for many more Christmases to come. I get teary eyed when I hear them singing; "You'll belong to me, I'll belong to you". The whole song just gets me all choked up. Even though this song was most parodied (see next comment)
Baz what can I say, this is wonderful, I love these two so much, no one in this world will ever surpass their incredible voices. Vonnie your coloring is wonderful. Thanks so much Baz
You used to have a video, at least I think it was you, that included the introduction to the song. It went like this: So, echoes of sweet love notes gently fall Thru the forest stillness As the waiting Indian lovers call! When the lone lagoon Stirs in the Spring Welcoming home some swanny white wing When the maiden moon Riding the sky Gathers her star-eyed dream children nigh: That is the time of the moon and the year When love dreams to Indian maidens appear And this is the song that they hear: What happened to it?
After Josef Schmidt Nelson was one of my mothers favourites, she used to sing along when plaiting out hair before school! Memories! - thanks for the opportunity!

My Mother was born in 1926, me in 1957, she introduced me to this, such an endearing song and lovely music back then
Still is my dear, still is. m. in Louisville, Ky.
Only as a child did I see these movies, as they passed through again and again. Why can't it just be like this always?

Agree
To my Dad, I remember this was your fave, Miss you.

They don't have singers nowadays. In particular Nelson Eddy had a great baritone voice and his diction was impeccable. JLL. Tenor

I was inducted into Nelson Eddy when I first saw New Moon at the movies at the age of seven. I have been addicted ever since.
Nelson Eddy has a magnificent voice!😍❤️💕

Hi Baz: what can I say about this elegant, magnificent, fantastic and truly ultimate video of my favorite duet from our 2 darlings? I will run out of adjectives in describing this, the best Christmas gift I will cherish not just from this holiday season but for many more Christmases to come. You used to have a video, at least I think it was you, that included the introduction to the song. It went like this:
So, echoes of sweet love notes gently fall
Thru the forest stillness
As the waiting Indian lovers call!
When the lone lagoon
Stirs in the Spring
Welcoming home some swanny white wing
When the maiden moon
Riding the sky
Gathers her star-eyed dream children nigh:
That is the time of the moon and the year
When love dreams to Indian maidens appear
And this is the song that they hear:
What happened to it?
Veľmi pekná - úžasná melódia . Ďakujem za zdieľanie.
After Josef Schmidt Nelson was one of my mothers favourites, she used to sing along when plaiting out hair before school! Memories! - thanks for the opportunity!
Beautiful singing always.
