    we hear about unlocking the phone with a picture but haven't seen anyone actually doing it.

      +zorkor iDeviceHelp showed (I think) MARCIONOPHONE actually doing it in a video about a month ago

      zorkor "We?" You mean "you" because there are videos out there doing the picture test. I know because I've seen a couple.

      I did test that and found that was a big flaw. otherwise the facial recognition is awesome and speedy

      @YeenOwO Před 7 lety +4

      There's a option on the Galaxy 8 that lets you decrease the accuracy so the recognition is more faster
      There's a vid of a guy testing it and deactivation that option doesn't unlock the phone with a picture of your face

    I got used to the fingerprint scanner on my s8 plus but I prefer the iris scanner over the facial recognition only because the iris scanner is more secure

    Very good review, you kept it plain and simple. Straight to the point.
    Great job

    I don't understand why people lament the fingerprint sensor so much. Move your hand and shut up

    Good video, but your description at the end about facial unlock with someone's picture left me confused, because now I'm wondering: ?
    (Can a picture of your face also unlock your phone remotely if you have an IRIS unlock option? I thought the whole point of the IRIS unlock feature is to make it more
    secure than the entire facial unlock ?)

    I find my finger resting in the exact spot they put it when i hold my note7 or s7e. I would've swapped sides as most folks are right handed & i see its on the other side than i thought. Never had issues with iris scanner on note7 other than its clumsy & rushed implementation. it should just look for 1 eye

  • @danielhernandorojasrodrigu7076

    So if you mount your phone in your car for nav/infotainment purposes like millions of users, none of these three really work, do they?

      Michael Kirk No the face recognition can work but you have to lean forward a little

    So obviously the all seeing eye now has your fingerprints, facial and iris downloaded in their database😈. Meanwhile you could have just use a 4 digit pin code.

    Face ID worked before I started using a certain screen protector.

    • @zaggernut5054
      @zaggernut5054 Před 4 lety

      maybe the protector blocks infrared light, which face/iris recognition uses

    The iPhone doesn't have finger print

  • @edinfific2576
    @edinfific2576 Před 3 lety

    The S8 fingerprint scanner is basically useless if you, like most people, use a protective mask for it.
    And even without a mask, it is tricky to position fingers and too close to the camera lens.
    This is it for me, I'm done with Samsung and their stupid, planned obsolence/expensive repair designs!
    Samsung, along with iPhone, is now off my list.

  • @davidguerrero3115
    @davidguerrero3115 Před 6 lety

    Samsung fix the problem and it could be as accurate as the iPhone x

    • @kveeder3224
      @kveeder3224 Před 5 lety +1

      Because they work fundamentally different, the S8's facial recognition will never be as accurate at the iPhone X's.
