This will go down along with Silent Hill as my all time favorite game. Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy, Suikoden, all great RPG series, but with the music and full animation cut scenes, this is just special and one of the things that inspired me to write a fantasy novel.

+phubans it may not be the original but there was a psp port if you have a vita. it's like $10 on the PSN if you wanna buy the Silver Star Harmony version. not gonna lie, they changed some of the lyrics to the songs because of legal stuff. but all in all a bit of an improvement in graphics and battle system. plus no more item restrictions like in the original where you could only carry 20 items per character.

It is my all-time favorite and I'm sure everyone who has come to watch this video will agree! I hope to have time to revisit it soon!

From the challenging battle system, compelling story and memorable characters...one couldn't ask for more.
I was 13 when I first played this game back in 99. Back then, there used to be a lot of single game demo discs you could get for free from video game stores. I got a demo of Lunar and loved it. I then went back and bought it brand new from and EB games. This is the first rpg I played and I have loved the genre ever since. It's an awesome and timeless game. It has such a great story, very emotional, and good character attachment. It will always be one of my favorites.
Man, this will forever be one of my favourite RPG's, together with Chrono Trigger, Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana), Breath of Fire 3, Final Fantasy 6/7, Legend of Dragoon and Xenogears. I miss the days when I used to play these games like a madman....
i cryed for joy when i 1st played this for the PSX , its was so heart warming and moving the soundtrack , it was so wonderfull , the playability was so easy.. it was so cute and cooliee
Everything about this game...from the opening sequence, to the final battle with Ghaleon and the ending cinematic...it's all just incredible. This is one of the first Playstation 1 games that was able to keep my focus until I beat it. I then went on to Eternal Blue Complete, which was also a great game, but not nearly to the standard of the first. This is up there with the Kingdom Hearts and Arc the Lad series' as one of my favorites. Cheers to the uploader!

This song has a lot of life and light to it. To say it is terrible is to say your tone deaf. There is a spiritual connection to music that doesn't have to be funneled through one type of music genre for people to enjoy. I'll have to go back and listen to the original. In fact I still have the CD

i still own the PS1 copy with all the extras even the special leather back book was one of my child hoods best games ive ever played and its still in my damn heart and will never leave me

omg i soooooo miss this game. This was the 1st game i ever got for my ps1. It was my Bday and my dad and his girlfriend took me around a game store and said pick any game you want. I saw lunar sitting on the shelf and it said new release on it. The guy told me it was a one of a kind game... he was right! so many memories on this game i've beat it 30+ times thats how much I loved it lol only beat enternal blue like 3 times though >.>
Impossible to describe this game. Awesome is not enought. The story, the musics, the caracters... Everything is so much. For those who like, I recomend the EXTRA CD that came with the original game. There you will watch nearly half an hour of "behind, in the studios" of the game production, including others versions of the game. Way to go!

I played this game a loooonnnng time ago on the Sega CD when it first came out and then Eternal Blue came out I played as well-this game got me hooked on RPGS (and All WorkingDesign Games as well). I was stoked that both remakes came out on the PSX-the stories got even better. It's still a fun game to play-both the original and the remakes-to this day.

I bought this rare gem at a used game store in springfield, IL for about 40 bucks. I think it was a damn good investment. Even though I only got the jewel case and the 4 discs and not the acual box,manual and cloth map, Its not everyday you see this game.
In all honesty guys, If you haven't played the PSP version, don't knock it yet. Give it a shot. If you have played just the demo, there are a lot of awesome character moments for the new cast you have yet to see. Spike Spencer is pretty amazing as Nall. The new voices for the cast while different, bring forward a maturity to the characters that fits with the new translation which has a mature tone in general. The supporting cast voices are professional VA's this time instead of random employees.

have to agree, both had great storylines, thats one thing I go for in a good rpg if the story isnt good and gets boring I will stop playing for like months and pick it back up if I get bored and need something to play at the time

I'm a proud owner of both of the PSX versions of this and Eternal Blue. THE best PSX games of their time. As far as story goes, I'd even go so far as to say it's better than Final Fantasy 7, It just didn't get the publicity that it more than deserves. Eternal Blue is almost as good too.

yeah lol I always wanted a sega cd long ago for this game alone back then...So when it came out for the PS I was so excited~ My friend is lucky enough to have a sega cd, but doesn't have it on the sega though. But yes, it's good to see someone else knows it was originally on the sega cd!
that was an awsome game they need to remake it again, and or make a movie about it. A movie based on this story would own all other mythical movies including lord of the rings.
Great man! It's a shame he never pursued voice acting outside of Working Designs' games. He could have definitely been a wonderful voice for so many great roles in animation and games.

Download it and play it again. If you have a computer and a good emulator it will work for you I bet😃

i have so much good old memories each time i see lunar intro, i feel happy to have both special edition games lunar and lunar 2 for psx.

I loved this game from the perspective of an anime fan, and it's pretty darn good looking at it as a gaming fan, too.
