OMG! The Messi Dressy! So fabulous! It looks amazing. My favorite part of this story is the impact you had on that little girl in front of you. She’s going to remember, and not be afraid of making mistakes. What a gift you gave her! Heck, me too! Thank you and keep creating! ❤️
Totally agree… ❤❤❤ 🎉
I completely agree! I love the story of the little girl wondering about mistakes. It's a lesson for all of us. ❤️
Well said! That dress and you are amazing!
15:05 KNEW IT! You cranked up all that delight in a massive crowd of perfect strangers. The world is a better place because of you.
Aww. I love the kiddo obsessed with your dress. I bet she'll remember that forever. 😊❤
Your Messi Dressy story is perfect. What an awesome memory. What a talent you are and an inspiration. 🩷💜❤️
I have tears of happiness listening to the Messi stories. Brava!
Omg!!! The story about the little girl asking about your mistakes brought tears to my eyes. So moving
MESSI DRESSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII wow what a special garment with now so many special memories. THIS IS WHY WE CREATE.
Fray check works really well to finish ends. It's liquid nylon and dries nearly instantly. I think your dress looks so fun!
Agreed!
I totally get it, Nora. I'm also someone who LOVES complex, challenging, mindful projects, but I also need the mindless ones to give my hands and my brain a break from counting yarn overs. I think the thing we often forget about making plans is that life is about changing and growing...and if your plans change and grow with you, then I view that as a success, not a failure.
Okay but the cable sweater and crossing bridges...huge missed opportunity to say "we will cross that cable when we get to it " 😉😂
Holy Smokes Nora! Your Messi dressi is amazing! I love how you just go for it. You are quite the Designer! 🙌🏼💙🤍✨
Congrats 🎉
Watching this right now and my pitbull/boxer Willow is glued to the TV. She heard Osi barking 😂
Oh my gosh, your Messi Dressi!! Nora, you nailed it! I love this story, and it has been so much fun watching the whole process. What a triumph!!
I love this weeks video!! following your story of the Messi Dressi has been a joy!! It turned out gorgeous and you look amazing wearing it, my favorite part of this journey is the last week of challenges and major wins! what maker hasn't experienced that feeling of having tons of time to finish a project by a deadline only to be faced with a mountain of last-minute hiccups. I love that you defeated every challenge, were able to finish on time, and then wear your gorgeous creation and received so much appreciation. Well Done!! Thank you for sharing
I’ve had so much fun grinning over this dress with you!! Brava! 🎉
Congrats on the well-deserved success on your Messi Dressi! That is the best, when you’ve gone out on a limb, designed something yourself, then had the guts to wear it…and EVERYONE raves about it! I think it looks fantastic and I’m glad you were able to finish it in time.
Watching you each week is like a visit either to spa or a retreat with all the good feelings. The little girl story is so good. The fact that you got stopped so many times at the game is exciting. You have such perseverance in your process( waiting for the cricut piece) and not giving up or cutting corners. Your vision came to life, and beyond. Thank you for sharing your stories...my weekly ted talk visit.
Hahah thank you so so much!! 🥰
You’re amazing. We had the game on in the background and all I could think about was “Messi Dressi”. You deserve all the attention for your fabulous work of art.
Aww thank you so much!!
Nora, your “Messi Dressi” is outstanding !! You are totally amazing🎉. I love your enthusiasm and love of the craft. Thank you for taking the time to share and educate us on your journey. ❤
If you ever need to do vinyl on knit/crochet again, I’ve used my silhouette to cut a stencil and used deco foil duo adhesive and iron-on foil to do a similar jersey-number look ❤
I love the special effects you add to your videos, you are so talented, the dress looks great too 👍🏽
Wow I love how the dress worked out, and fantastic that you got to have fun wearing it.❤
Such a fun selection of knits on your needles. Congrats to all the winners.
Bravo Nora!!! on completing your Messi Dressi garment. I was in AC this past weekend saw the game instantly thought about you. Glad you had your Red Carpet moment. "Queen from Connecticut". Impressive. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
Thank you!! Such a fun experience!!
I have to show my son your finished Messi dressy! He's a huge Messi fan. Also, I had to pause the video and go buy the Sailor Swift pattern before you finished 😂 I have had it sitting in my Ravelry cart for 2-3 weeks. After seeing yours, you completely convinced me I need one! ❤
Your Messi Dressy is such a flattering neckline on you 👏🏻
How fun to hear the joy the Messi dressy brings! ⚽️ Score!!
Loved your story on teaching the little girl about mistakes, a remind for all of us. Stunning Messi dress.
Thank you 🥰
So cool. What a great job you did on your dress. Love all your videos. 🎉🎉😊keep up your positivity you display. You made my day.
You’re a Queen for sure! I ❤ the Messi Dressy very much and your stories. Congratulations 🎉
If I plan too much, it always changes. I’m happier knitting the project that’s got me hooked now, and maybe have one or two in the wings, but I decide each one just in advance of starting. Planning too far ahead-or holding myself to plans made in the past-makes me feel less alive. Thanks for helping me figure this out. 😂😂😂
Love all these makings. About superwash yarn, I 100% agree with you. It feels like acrylic and is not my favourite, too. I never used that specific brand and I had the same feeling.
Super Congrats on the Messi Dressy! It looks fabulous on you, is definitely "handmade" rather than "homemade", and its obvious you had a great time wearing it and engaging with all the admirers. You should think about publishing the pattern. Think how it could be adapted for different teams, etc. I love, love, love the striped tank. It fits you perfectly and the colors are a great complement to your complexion and hair. I also love the oversize cable sweater. I can see that as a great piece for lounging on the couch on a fall evening as well as on the beach. Once again, a great episode! Also, congrats on inspiring that young girl with uour perfectly imperfect motto.
So happy to read all bout the success of the Messi Dressy! The whole time you were making it I was thinking that the media and crowd were going to lose their minds over this and I was ridiculously happy for you that they more or less did, especially the little girl you talked about. And like another commenter said, it's why we create. A Magnum Opus (or merely one of many for you I imagine). Brava..
Thank you so much!! I genuinely did not expect the reaction I got and it was such an overwhelmingly amazing feeling to wear it out!
The Messi Dressy is amazing! You are such an inspiring knitter! If you want a tiny easy bit of lace with a lot of bang for your buck (and something you can make with less than 2 full skeins of fingering) give the Confetti Crop a try. It’s so speedy, perfect for that random skein of fingering and is really easy! Thank you for the podcast!
Thank you so much!! Good to know-I will have to check it out! Thank you 💛
Congratulations 🎉 to all the winners and everyone who participated! The Messi Dressy looks fantastic! I love how wonderfully it was received because you worked your behind off to create something so stunning. Happy creating 💚🧶💚
Well done on the Messi Dressi.I tturned out FABULOUS!!! 👍👌👌
I'm listening to your Messi Dressy story and the Jaws score is playing in my head! Well done 🎉 for getting it sorted ❤
Love it, I feel so much second-hand pride at how well the Messi Dressi turned out! It looks sooo good too, I'm sure it felt great to get all those compliments!
Oh so fun. Congratulations on the messy dressy. It was all worth it. I just put my tubing on the end of my needles and just work enough to get the room for trying on, then I don't have to remove my needles.
Thank you!! I’m always so terrified the tubing will just pop off mid-try on if I do that lol
Messi dressy is fabulous and looks so good on you. Congratulations to all the winners 🎉
Yayyyyyyyyyyy❤ I won a prize. Thank you so much .Love watching you so much.
The dress is just the ultimate WAG and so gorgeous on you. Such a cool craft milestone and memory 🩵 also obsessed with how your tank is fitting you!
The Messi is fantastic! So fun!
I’m knitting my first ever cardigan with a double knit button band which I have been doing over the last few days and for nearly every row I kept thinking of the monumental task you have of doing an ankle to ankle button band. You rock! I finished my band last night and one side is a good two inches shorter than the other so I guess I didn’t pick up as many stitches on that side, so I’m going to knit the second sleeve and then undo the band and start again though I think I will only need to undo about a third of it.
Congratulations on finishing your Messi Dressi. It looks awesome.😊
The dress came out so good! ❤
Wow! Your epic experience making your Messi Dressy and the finished dress is mind blowing and a testament to your skill, intelligence, and determination! You look like a movie star in your dress! More gorgeous than any currently trending crochet dresses out there! The closest I’ve ever got to what you described was when I crocheted a dress for my daughter for a concert in 10 days and then having to quickly hand-hem the under slip in the hotel room before the concert. When we were waiting in line for the restroom at the arena, a girl around my daughter’s age turned around and asked her, “I like your dress! Did you make it?” And my daughter said, “No, my Mom did.” ❤
I absolutely love your Messi Dressi!!! 🎉It is a magical piece and deserves a spot in an art museum or a sports memorabilia museum!!! 🤩
Thank you so much for being so genuine and talking about your full thought process of balancing the types of things you’re working on. I have found that I am also attracted to some pretty complex patterns, but don’t always have the brain space to work on them. So, I have been working on a few simple knit / crochet projects along side my more complex projects so that when I feel stuck on working a complex piece, I have something simple I can pick up and work on and see those projects grow slowly towards completion over a longer time. It’s been really helpful.
You did SUCH a fabulous job with the Messi Dressi! Good for you, Nora! I hope you always look at this dress and feel the straight of accomplishment you showed in the video today 😊
Good job on your Messi Dressi, Nora. 👍🏽
You are such a pretty person. Your dress looked so great, job well done❤️
So happy for you that you got the perfect evening in your Messi dress after all the hard work and last minute struggles. And it looks fantastic on you!
Love how your fun dress came out! Maybe for next knit along can be gift knits .... since i know my mind is already thinking of knitting up my Christmas knits for others.
Ahh the Messi dressy looks great! I’m so glad you got it done just in the nick of time!
I am currently knitting the Kuutar tee by Sari Nordlund and I’m really enjoying it. It’s my first time doing a proper summer knit in a bamboo/cotton yarn.
Thank you!!! I love her tees! I have one on my list to make this year too-we shall see if we get to it! I’m dying to try some silk
Your Messi Dressy turned out so amazing! I’m happy to hear all the love it got! 🎉
Wow❤❤❤ your tank .. looks great too and love the brown and cream
That Messi dressi....girl! Inspirational ❤. Love that
27:00 I can completely relate, we always need a mindless knit and a mindful knit to give ourselves a break in between all the intellectually stimulating knits ❤
That’s the best balance!! I am learning lol
That dress looked soooo good on you. I knew your dress would be a topic of conversation at the game!!! ❤❤❤
Wow! The Messi Dressy is an absolute triumph! My father and his family were from Argentina 🇦🇷 and I wish he could have seen it. Well done! Also, I had zero interest in making the Sailor Swift top until you tried yours on and gosh, now I am going to make one! Thanks, this episode really made me smile!!😊
Wowsa, congrats on finishing your Messi Dressi on time it is fabulous! I love hearing your excitement and the whole experience at the game.
Thank you!!!
Your dress is so cool😊 love it!
I crocheted for years through childhood and adulthood. Then a few years ago I picked up knitting. With crochet, I always did the standard weaving-in ends back and forth. I learned from Kay Litton (Crazy Sock Lady) to actually weave through the yarn strands and not just back and forth through stitches. This has made a huge difference for my speed and sturdiness, and also hiding the ends. I wonder if this will work with crochet stitches just as well? I use it for knitting socks and nothing has ever unraveled.
That is so cool about your dress. I’m really glad you got it done. I love listening and learning about how you fix mistakes or figure out changes
Congratulations on your Messi dress it must have been so much fun wearing it to the game
Thank you!!! It was a blast!
Lol the face scarf! I was looking down and almost missed it 😂
Well done!!!
Love your dress!! And thank thank fits guy you stunningly!!! Simply gorgeous!
I rode horses competively as a child. While the craft gene is strong in me, i think the match was lit in me watching older ladies knit at shows. I think you made a simliar match strike in that sweet little girl.
I, too, am so all over the place with what I want to knit right now. I just can't make a decision.
Your messy dressy is AMAZING!!!! Congratulations.
I was digging in my stash and discovered three skeins of Cascade Ultra Pima cotton. I began looking for patterns to use that quantity of yarn. Settled on Cancun boxy top. I have some tank dresses and thought it would be a good thing to wear over.
I'm so happy for you. It's always nice to have people's admiration when you work so hard on a project. You deserve it !!! Did your team win?
Your dress is gorgeous!
This dress is amazing 🤩🤩🤩 you did it perfectly even though broken machine I don't know name 😂
I’m so happy for you and your vision for that dress! 👏👏👏 ⚽️
And I have been so looking forward to this Saturday morning video because I saw your Insta story and got a glimpse of the magic at the stadium! 💖
Love your dress!
Your dress is fabulous!
Yay for the Messi Dressi! 🎉 what a fun experience. I really love the questions that little girl asked. I could see my youngest doing the same thing. I bet you inspired a young crafter to be ok with making mistakes and to have fun with creating. ❤
I commented before watching the entire video so now I’m editing to add more. For the Berroco ultra wool, I knit a sweater for my youngest and that was the yarn she picked. I didn’t really enjoy it and it gave me acrylic vibes as well. However, blocking really made a difference with that yarn (to me). It feels so much softer now.
Your FeelGoodCableSweater will fit in the size medium when you use superwash wool. Superwash stretches!
Your Messi Dressi fits you so well! Fabulous job! It sounds like that little girl at the game is on her way to becoming a designer! It must feel so rewarding that all that hard work paid off! Brava!🤍💙🤍💙
Sailor swift fits like a glove! Great job on all your projects.💜
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all the sponsors. 🎉
The dress is amazing! The neckline looks lovely on you. You have to wear it again 💙💙💙🇦🇷
YOU ARE AMAZING
Your dress is stunning! So, so cute!!!
Your Messi dressy is brilliant, well done Nora 🎉
Congratulations to all the winners x
Congratulations on the Messi Dressy. It looks amazing!
Love the dress. I wanted to watch the game to see if you would get interviewed. I couldn’t get the game. So excited for you.
Thank you!! 🥰
I think hitting the row in the cable chart is more important than the exact length as you need to be in the same on the fronts and backs when you start working back and forth.
That’s what I’m thinking too! That’s why I figured it’d be best to knit the fronts first because the increasing for the vneck will really determine where those end. So then I can try it on and see if I need to knit another repeat on the back or not
Gotta love vinyl cutters lol. I work in a t-shirt printing shop and our viny cutter is an old(er), out of production machine, so we only have so many spare parts. We just kind of hope that nothing important breaks haha.
Hi, Nora! Give the cables a quick steam block and see if you hit the 15cm. Great episode! Love the Messi Dressy!
Hi Nora! You look aweome on your Messi dressi! Just a quick comment to practice my english🙃... The word Mecha (as it is an Uruguayan yarn I assume it is spanish for wick or strand) is pronunciated me(like in melody) cha(like in "cha cha cha" or in Chattanooga)😅 Love your channel!
Congratulations on ✨ Starring in the Messi dress ⭐ and many congratulations to the winners! I also participated in the #stashbustspring and won so much! Many finished objects, lots of yarn used, lots of creativity and lots of entertainment from you, so big thank you! Next, let's make another knitting challenge fro the summer knits
😂 thank you!!! I love that you were able to get so much done with this challenge!! I am happy to say that it’s been so rewarding to see what you’ve all accomplished too!
Love your Messi dress🎉❤
Someone needs to TAG MESSI on this
I agree that superwash wool can feel kind of plasticky. 🤨
Score one for the Messi Dressy!!!!!!!! GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!! lol ⚽️🧶🥰
Can i ask what program do youbuse to edit? Thanks for another get episode
So maybe "summer knitting plans" should be changed to "summer dream knitting"? Maybe make it a goal to do one of them. We are human our interests change and new patterns come along... Go with the flow but dream knits are fun too and bring attention to patterns
I'm in my stripe era too - have you seen Rebecca Clow's Leith striped cardi...or Andrea Mowry's Douglas cardi...? DREEEEAM
What have I said about technology - Technology does not work in direct proportion to how much you need or want it to work!
👏👏👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉
