My Spyder jacket from 1997 I wore for 21 years , the waterproof membrane disintegrated in the washing machine all the sudden. For shits and giggles I contacted customer support to see if they would repair the garmet or had suggestions on how to not have that happen in the future (I carefully followed instructions)
They told me it was just too old but gave me a code for 30% off ....
I went online and bought the Eiger GTX shell and it is the best jacket I’ve ever had. One thing this review fails to mention is it has a built in rescue beacon so if your lost or buried they can find you by ground or helicopter as long as you have the jacket on.
Hey DG - I am stoked they took care of you! That is impressive customer service. You are correct in that there is a RECCO reflector in this jacket. That is a nice feature for inbounds skiing and snowboarding and it can be a valuable tool for ski patrol. I would like to clarify to the readers and viewers that the RECCO is no replacement for an avalanche beacon. Though it can work well with one! Safety first :). Take care! - Sean
