He said it well. I'm German, too and I've loved Native Americans, since I was very young. I'm old now, but I still love my native friends. They were just special and they still are. It's not their fault! The Americans took away the live of indigenous peoples and enslaved them. They killed their manhood!
As a Mechanic YOUNG APACHE, You can keep thing moving! As a Doctor YOUNG APACHE, You can keep Your People healthy! As a Carpenter YOUNG APACHE, You can build shelter! As an APACHE, You will always be a Father and a Mother; so teach THE APACHE!
Oh MY, What wonderful young people you are.! You must all study, and work hard, and get into positions of influence, teaching, nursing, government office. Take your country back !!!
This is beautiful. It’s huge that as a tribe we are still here. A small plains tribe with so much strength. I wish success, health and happiness for them.
I truly enjoyed seeing these young, strong, optimistic and PRIDEFUL young Apache White Mountain Natives (I don't know if my terminology was politically correct, so forgive my ignorance) My sincerest thanks to these youngsters and all involved in this project. I feel uplifted just by having watched this! Thanks again!
I am white.... and I look and listen to these young native american people and am ashamed of the white children today in America. These children just want a chance and seem to be humble and kind. These kids are amazing !
It saddens me to see all those young people who learn about hard living conditions and suffering at their young age. Their hearts should be innocent and unburdened by all that cruel things. They should know that we are proud of them, because they are our hope for the future to help our Mother Earth survive when we are long gone. Thank you for this informative video.
Be Proud of your Culture and traditions for You have a very rich heritage...I have several Friends who are Native Americans and they are Wonderful Hardworking and most Honorable.... They all have my Respect and Love....Take Care and Good Luck
big thumbs up to these wonderful young adults---nothing is gonna put them. They have a desire. My niece TayTay is a part of this & this is her senior year & yes she is going to the Army.
May God bless you all- the youth. you are the future of a proud noble people. if i can help you're beautiful people in any way send a reply. i live in nyc and am of 20 pc caribean indian known as Tainos. there are no more 100 pc Tainos that we know of, except maybe in Cuba. we are protected like Gods there because of the few remaining pure bloods. Again, God bless you.
I wish I had an Apache friend, but we are all so divided now that I think it's a very slim chance it will every happen. I greatly admire the Apache. I want to learn everything I can about Apache. I can never be Apache but still can be a brother. From the small bit of insight I've had about Apache I know that they are true survivors and no other can match their fighting spirit. There's no doubt.
Always keep your traditions always know, teach your culture. And please do not let anyone come between who you are and what you will become. Stay proud...
My hope for the children is they can build a business together. Whether coffee shop, art, pottery, bead work, fashion design, computer games builder, what ever their dreams can be true. Together WE Can.
I was working in Show low for a few months and went hiking and fishing out at the res. I have been blessed to do a lot of hiking and traveling, and i can tell you first hand that the White mountains are one of the most beautiful places i've ever enjoyed. Beautiful Trout, Eagles,Elk, antelope, all in abundance. Wonderful , easy going people. Just a great GREAT place to visit. :)
James w Mallory I honestly do not know... they might. There are a LOT of Elk in that area. We were doing a construction job and only had a few days off to fish and Hike.. But i DO know that the whole area around ShowLow is PRIME hunting grounds. A buddy of mine up there actually ran a fairly successful outfitters. And there is a Famous building in ShowLow itself that is complete;y made out of Elk Racks..
Look to the spirit world, the ancestral roots then look deep within your soul and do what you want to do. The things of this world will never settle your soul. Be happy and at peace with yourself!
Your voices are forever in my heart. We listened to your hearts .Its the inspiration to survive as traditional elders . Its our responsibility to protect all Apache. Born of the eagle families . Nothing will ever stop you from being the best. Apaches Rock
Always remember that you can learn a lot from the world outside your tribe, but don’t forget that you have a lot to offer that world as well. Keep your language and your customs, and grow your people. Every person alive is a descendant of one tribe or another.
I just found out that I am more Native American than Mexican and WMA is my tribe. I live in the Bay Area, I have never met anyone that was White Mountain Apache but it’s eery looking at this video and realizing that I look just like these kids. I have the blood pumping in my veins but have no knowledge of this beautiful culture. This explains why I never fit in lol maybe not but wow. Amazing video.
Be PROUD of your CULTURE and when you become SUCCESSFUL NEVER FORGET WHO YOUR ARE WERE YOU COME FROM AND MOST IMPORTANT BE THAT BEACON OF LIGHT YOUR COMMUNITY NEEDS JUST TO WAKE-UP ANOTHER DAY.
I m praying for you too to God in Jesus name, to help you and protect you all .Please trust in the Creator of the Universe , just pray to HIM for help . God bless you all, amen.
These are my People. I've been told I'm descended down from Geronimo and his Father in Law, Cochise. It also makes me related to Victorino...this is what I've been told. I've never lived on a res. But the trials in the big world are, in my opinion Bigger. On the Res, you're home. Unfortunately Out PEOPLE have been hurt and almost destroyed. I pray to Creator to learn of my Relatives and their ways. Blessed Ways to All on this video. It gets better with age. Fight on Mescalero!!

Learn your language ,keep your ancestors alive ,your existence is resistance against the imperialist machine ,the revolution lives in all of you ,solidarity forever ,unionize rise decolonize
We need to stop underestimating kids. The kids in this video are wise and reflective, and probably have experienced some things that no child should ever experience. They have a lot to teach us about what it is to hope.
Have you seen railroad tracks? Such is your life. One rail is your culture and tradition. The other rail is the "White" way. The two rails do not cross. There is no normal... there is just your life. You must have come into this world not asking for an easy life. But asked for strenght to endure a more difficult life. Outlive your life
This video, being somewhat dated and hopefully still holds true for these students and their family, friends and community over the years and I do so hope they survived and followed their goals. Western Civilization is something I'm ashamed of and my heart is heavy with sorrow regarding these wonderfully proud People. A simple message to all those young American Indigenous People that will follow; Always try to be the best You, you can be, seize the day and be spectacular.
YOU ALREADY SEE WHAT IS WRONG PLEASE CONTINUE TO BE STRONG TO MAKE A DIFFERENT WORLD FOR YOU AND YOUR FUTURE OF YOUR CHOICE YOU CAN YOU CAN YOU CAN ONLY IF YOU PUT IN YOUR HEARTS AND IT WILL BE DONE, YOU CAN DO IT
Drugs and alcohol are a hell of a thing, both of my parents struggle(d) with drugs and alcohol. My mother had the nickname "Easy Annie" because she would open her legs to anyone after she got enough booze down her throat. My dad still drinks and does drugs and the last time I seen him, in 2016, he looked like a seventy year old man instead of fifty-one. I also have grandparents who struggled with substance abuse. Due to these generational issues, I have such a fear of becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol that I rarely drink and I do not do drugs. I may have one drink every four years or more. I feel for these kids because I have lived it with my own family. I remember one year when my mom was so drunk, I could smell the booze off of her and she could barely walk. Plus she was trying to grab me and make me touch her. I had to carry her to her room and lay her down. My younger sister was crying and very upset because Mom was so drunk.
Google Geoff Lawton, on permaculture gardening, and see if there is something there that you might can use to make life better, it seems to be working in alot of other country's ,bless you never give up learning ,the United states is one big Rez...
My paternal grandpa is APACHE (Jicarilla & Chiricahua) Indigenous Native American My paternal grandmother is NAVAJO & HOPI Indigenous Native American My maternal grandpa was O’ODHAM & HUICHOL Indigenous Native American My maternal grandmother was European American. Not native.
I really dislike hearing them say they plan to join the white man's military. People have to fight their own fight, continue their own traditions & be very proud of their heritage. An elder would tell you not to fight for the white man's flag but for your own. I see no point in fighting for a government that took this land from it's rightful owners. Zero respect for that
Or they might just be proud of the government. The past is in the past. Of course we should have more benefits, and of course we should be treated better, but it doesn't mean that they completely hate all white men. Who knows what the Native Americans would be like without the white men. Everybody who lives in America should be grateful that they do. Native American or not, there is always somebody who is in a worse position than you. And do you know what makes America so free? The Military.
I bet your ass don't mind accepting that white mans check every month, do you? I grew up in the South with the Cherokee who see culture I fell in love with. I love the Cherokee people so much because they were so willing to teach me their history and were excited that I was so willing. Tattooed my body with their history and trials. I got transferred to the White Mountains and was beyond ecstatic to be with the Navajo and Apache to learn their history and native tongue. Never have I been treated like such shit by any people in my life. Not by one or two but by all I seeked information from. Unbelievable that any culture would not want to sit down and teach an outsider their culture to inform others how amazing your history is. Saddening to watch such potentionally strong people sit on their asses and just accept bare minimal welfare payments from the "white man" whom they despise. Never in my life would I have ever thought to have been treated badly from the Natives. It sickens me. Discourage your people from leaving the shitty living reservation conditions by not joing the White mans military to receive 100% paid college education so they can stay on the rez and collect that welfare check forever and watch your own youth destroy your heritage through alcoholism, drug use, and gang violence. You are the disease of your own people.
Go your way and dont give up. Live youre Culture and be proud. You are the real American. Greetings and all the best from Germany.
He said it well. I'm German, too and I've loved Native Americans, since I was very young. I'm old now, but I still love my native friends. They were just special and they still are.
