Not really , Morrison in a Tony Thomas says ,we are spectators. Which is true , legally we do not have the freedom to express ourselves. Not all expression is good. Even Jim was arrested in a time when society in the U.S. was more tolerant.
Those 19 guys who 'unliked' it are pathetic, as they didn't know or realize that Jim Morrison was always ahead of Time, his generation, to understand his songs and poems one got to walk his walk, wearing his shoes. Which I have tried for last 35 years and got a lil bit inside my bones.
He was a man of his time. The sixties took him into the seventies and he was still straddling the fence. Every thing is circular. Peace to his honesty true artist you knew you'd survive. Infiniti...
The greatest American Poet. James Douglas Morrison is my hero. My inspiration. The biggest influence of my life. We all lost a great human being. Lament every day His death. RIP Jim Morrison. Thanks for your poetry, brother.
Catolina A.g. Jim will always be alive,as well as Ray. Just listen to his words every time to read his poetry or listen to a song,he's there. He said he'd be alive in the music, and he is. When I hear Ray play,he's living and breathing. That's the thing about the doors, everyone else died, but Ray and Jim are alive and well.
My older brother looked very similar to Jim Morrison but passed away three and a half years ago.He had all the doors albums and this American prayer is my favourite as I adore poetry and singing along to the darkness.
Its amazing how Jim morrison combines the different sides of a human being. How he connects the beast, the animal and the spirit. He gives us in his poetry and mucsic a perfect example of how wonderful human beigs can be.He shows us our potential. Thanks a lot!
great channel! listening to my all-time beloved Poet, not many of them around unfortunately with all that rapper crap! there is no evolution anymore in Music we must go back to the 50s 60s 70s 80s and 90s - 2000 is a shame! a disgrace!
Jim Morrison my mentor my American poet brother I started where you left off the poetry we write will hav no end we will Rest In Peace in the severed garden
This album shows Mirrison and his poetry to full magnificence, kudos to the other Doors being able to put music towards the magic that are the words/poetry of Jim, this is an album that will stand time. Jim was first and foremost a poet but, without the others would we,ve heard his words? Perhaps! This album is and will be a classic that will search-out by future generations. JIM will show you a good time. W.Pauley
We lost a real warrior poet some would say shaman, but not me it is too descriptive of being pigeon-holed & I know Jim wouldn't want that thrust upon himself, because he understood, limitations imposed however could defeat even time. But time couldn't contain him! thanx for another doozy of an album! kudos for sharing it with all!
No habrá un nuevo Jim el fue poeta en su época y lo seguirá siendo en esta y en todas las vienen me inclinó ante tan semejante músico misto y loco grande grande grande
Piano backing Jim is outstanding! I like it better than the doors backing him on American prayer. You can truly hear and feel Jim. Thank you for this jem.
Hombre libre.
Do you know how pale & wonton thrillful comes death on a strange hour? Unannounced, unplanned for, like a scaring overfirendly guest you've brought to bed? Death makes angels of us all, gives us wings were we had shoulders, smooth as ravens claws. No more money, no more fancy dress, this other kingdom seems by far the best. Until its other jaw reveals incest. And loose obedience to a vegetable law. I will not go. Prefer a feast of friends to the Giant family.
@ Aficionado Joe - American Prayer was published a few years after Jim died by Mazerek, Densmore, and Kreiger. The band stated in their book that Jim would go into the Studios wasted and right these poems. Once they got their hands on the poems recorded by Jim they actually got back into the studio and created new music and took music from their songs and old Jam Seessions when they were a band and basically put it together into a album to show how good Jim really was at writing lyrics and poems.
I'm tripping balls: whoever uploaded this, muchos gracias! I'm still confused if this is sort of a mash up, or just American prayer? Anyway, this is the coolest chill-out mix on Jims' poetry, loving every inch of it! A real psychedelicatesse!
i own a lyric book with commentary's from Paul a Rothschild the doors producer and you just basically quoted him different phrase it doesn't surprise me tho because it is such an accurate statement

Jim knew all about other dimensions, alternate realities, portals, time travel - he was a traveler...
he was moor than that.
This thread made me laugh so hard the one reply is dumber than the comment itself 😅
Jim is the Gym of the Other Side
I do believe the mind-altering substances, of which he was particularly fond, might have assisted with his cosmic travels etc...
