It is highly likely that the fitting broke because you attached the oil pressure sender to the side of it. The pressure sender is quite heavy, it is mounted at 90 degrees and when you introduce vibration into the mix the aluminum is simply not strong enough to take it. I think you would have broken it even if you had put a top quality fitting in. I highly recommend to get better engine management that has built in fail safes, like turning the engine off when there is no oil pressure. I wish you the best of luck with the engine!

jeeeeeez, rough break with the s13, especially seeing all the work you guys put in really not that long ago, and it just being one cheap bit and being far away is really savage, you didn't get to enjoy it enough cause you put soo much work in, hope the rebuild goes smooth

When you have pulled the oil drain plug, and there was literally no oil I am so surprised that the engine is in such great shape! 😳 That damage is like just like a no damage at all, so keep your head up Sam, it will be more than alright sooner than you think about it. I'm saying from a point of waiting for working car for 6 months when in my EG is garage, and 6 years from crashing my EJ.
Pls don't V8 swap the Sil80, it will lose its style ❤

an oil pressure gauge and an oil pressure switch hooked up to a led and some kind of sirene is a must have, so if you loose oil pressure u can shut of the car immediately

It's frustrating when working on engines one small component fails and everything else is destroyed, but now you know the weakest link in the chain. you are always an inspiration to the community i hope you get back on the road faster than before!

First of all you don't mount oil pressure sensor like that, it should be in a p-clamp. Vibrations took that inlet out but the sensor did not help there for sure
Dang I even felt bad knowing the engines blown but you guys are really good at making a bad situation good.

Sam, I feel your pain, my 240sx s13 started having misfiring issues and now I only have a crank no start, some of my cylinders got filled with fuel and I think I’ll be getting a rebuild or a second used engine , I love your s13 and her color, mine is still yellow from factory

hey im an aircraft mechanic for checking oil filters you should cut the paper out completely then squeeze it in a vice to remove the oil then open it up and use a magnet to figure out if its steel or aluminum
