About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

I’m so glad the locals showed up and were able to share stories of the past and let you know how happy they are with all your hard work so far. Those tunnels sound like something that would be fun to find. The walled garden is looking amazing. Just think what it will look like in two years when you have everything planted.

A resounding success, the town people came in droves to show their support, how wonderful. The Chateau did not disappoint, it shone like a diamond. Tanya’s cakes looked so delicious, what a treat for everyone who came to celebrate Bastille Day with you. Loved seeing the French flags waving proudly from the awnings. You have to be utterly exhausted from all of the work it took to prepare for three days of open house. Plus the rush of the past few months preparing the gardens. Time to sit back, kick off your shoes and sip a nice cool drink. Congratulations wonderful family and friends 💗💗💗

I got tears in my eyes seeing how beautiful everything looks, but even more so for all the support you have! I feel the same way when ppl save the old mansions in our area in Pennsylvania, US. They’re works of art. Williamsport PA has “millionaire’s row” streets full of glorious mansions from the loggers who used the Susquehanna River to transport logs that built the town. We don’t have 300-400 year old structures here in America.
Letting the public see all the progress & how important it is to save, I wouldn’t be surprised if they join as Patreon or make donations toward large projects. Improving the chateau improves the entire area.

Yes, the years of thankless, back-breaking work in damp and freezing conditions. The never-ending list of things "to do." I am sure it is heart warming to know that the locals - and others. - all support the work they have done. The property is going to bring years of stories and happiness :)

I'm so happy for you guys! Open house events are incredible for both attendees and for you guys too; a real shot in the arm of motivation and encouragement. Meeting former owners, neighbors, renters, folks who know history of the property, gives important details that help us understand what has happened to our old homes and why they got into the state they were. We've been doing public tours of our home for the past 25 years and it really helps people understand what you doing, why you do it, and maybe .. just maybe... inspires others to take on similar projects in your area. We've met the great grandson of the folks who built our home, got a pencil drawing of the original owners, copies of their passport photos (back in 1890), stories of their lives and where they are interred. Couldn't be more please for you - incredible work to get this far, but incredible benefits! Congratulations and hugs from America!

Idk if it’s the same in Europe, but in America pineapple & wheat was used in decor to represent abundance, wealth & prosperity. I collect old light fixtures. A lot of wheat & pineapple etchings. Beautiful. I’m glad you took the time to enjoy your company.

I was born on Bastille Day! Everything looks amazing. The back of the Chateau is really taking shape! So glad you had an amazing crowd. I'd love to get turned lose on that pond area! So maybe you need to build a greenhouse to bring on good plants for the urns. And winter the plants so you dont have to rebuy plants every spring. The colour in them will be fantastic..

I’m so happy for your family that the open house was such a success, with all the local folks showing up, I knew they would, especially if you drive on the road everyday, and word of mouth to the folks in town.
