@@Toorin69 that's actually a huge part of getting better. In reality, it is super helpful to spar guys that are worse, the same, and better than you for varying reasons. Sparring lower guys is super important and helpful because that is when you can be playful, experimental, and work on your B-game. Same is super helpful for pushing each other and keeping healthy competition between gym-mates. Going against better is either a healthy challenge or a great opportunity to learn from someone who knows how to modulate their speed and power and are intelligent in what openings they purposefully leave you to help you get better.

yeah blue went hard and people are complaining about it but this is the nature of combat sports, there will always be gym bullies and egos, i've been on both ends. The reality is you need occasional sparring matches like this to become better (especially if you plan on fighting), and the dude in orange shorts will, he was game the whole time in spite of everything. He'll train harder and become better than his opponent. It's a really tough cycle but a necessary one if you want to become a fighter.
Yeah I agree, but this is once every 2-4 weeks really I’d say, mixed in with more technical sparring, but overcoming fear and getting stuck in counts, heart is as much as technique

Just rewatching this, actually this was a good sparring session, yes blue was better, but they both have heart, and if red is serious about fighting you need these sessions, I wouldn’t say this was bullying, he showed respect and didn’t take advantage at many times he could have, that’s a bully, this was just a case that blue was better and likes to go hard, nothing wrong with that, this is Muay Thai, it’s no joke, MT is a beautiful but brutal martial art. Blue shorts put him down with a lovely left hook to the body around 2.40, it’s good to see MT fighters use these shots, I feel lots of MT boxing skills are not developed enough, MT is not just kicking and grappling, there’s a great diversity in the art, if your sparring drop these sneaky hooks to the body in, add a jumping / superman punch, mix it up, pure boxing is part of MT, often it seems boxing skills are neglected, this looks like Mexico maybe? we all know left hook to the body is a Mexican jewel, think Chavez, Barrera, love that hook to the body, catch it with correct timing it’s a KO punch, very nice, good session, but can’t spar like this all the time, good session though, fair play to both of them
This was just a beat down, feeding ego's, don't put someone in a much much higher skill bracket against lower skill brackets unless the stronger guy is going to go easier. If there was no one else to step up, understandable.
I highly doubt you know anything about this gym or the people. That "beat down" was needed to help him understand the intensity of a fight they also weren't head hunting, yea a couple of solid punches from both of them to the head though

@@SandaBoxing Yes sure, but demolishing someone lesser than you is unnecessary and doesn't produce skill any more than going 50-70% power. There is a higher risk of injury. In matches like these there are only value that the bigger guy can train to go all out if he hurts his opponent for example. But this doesn't simulate the same level when they are still both in similar strength. In the long run you'll be eventually CTE will be developed from continuous brain trauma (assuming you spar hard that is, and are on the receiving end most of the time).
Blue definitely has way more experience but shout out to both fighters #respect orange got heart blue was smashing them low kicks damaging Muay Thai ain’t no joke
I wish more gyms in usa sparred this hard. I mean every week this hard sparring might be over kill but not even once a month which gives you time to recoup learn to take a beating as well.
My guy in the blue has dynamite in his hands and legs. Red guy took a beating but still had a good style and good heart. Good experience for both participants well done lads much respect

Is that really good to have hard sparring in Muay Thai? I trained thaiboxing sens i was around 5 years untill 12 and never had hard sparring exept when we did boxing only. We used to have some sort of fun sparring with relaxing body movement but when we trained for real we just did clinching alot with boxers who weight more then use to train our strenght. About the same when i grew up and went back to my home, Thailand and trained at Windy Sport, we did almost the same. I think its two edged of the sword when you do this kind of hard sparring. What do u guys think?
It's very bad to do hard sparring often, but I think it's good to do once in a while. 95% of all sparring should be light and technical, but there are some things about real fighting that you can't learn from light sparring only.
The difference is that in Thailand they fight ALOT more often than in western countries. Therefore they don't rely on hard sparring and also hard sparring always has the risk of injuries. As just about all of the Thai fighters fight to support their families they cannot risk getting injured in training.

Umm you can never hit the liver with a right Hook(unless your opponent is a southpaw in karate/narrow stance) . Liver is on the right of your opponent.

Liver shot is like a button. I’m remember when I was training I caught a dude with a right hook to the body.

this guys gave a punching bag to a guy with way superior skills. I would like to see a pro fighter against this blue fighter. He was with evertyhinig, but would be killed by buakaw. Sparring is supose to learn, and not being a punching bag.

@@sebastiangza2 que chingon, se nota la influencia del boxeo Mexicano en este estilo de Muay Thai. Me refiero a los golpes al cuerpo cobinado con leg kicks y el sparring duro como se hace en todos los ginasios de box en el norte. Saludos y respeto desde Tijuana y California.
