    Great video Blaine. Love the attention to detail. And I won't feel so bad getting plaster on the top half of my trowel now 😅

      Thank you Marcus mate. I really appreciate you watching my friend...it means a lot. And yeah, as long as the plaster is on the wall then its all good 😂😂

    You can plaster onto moisture boards without needing to add anything to it, I have noticed it does sometimes suck in a bit quicker but never an issue 💯

    Great video. Real therapy to watch that. Would really like to have another go sometime. My past experience (before the days of CZcams) was it just all suddenly set solid, and before anywhere near smooth. Love that big smoothing rake thing. Look forward to the next one

    My line of work is room in roof, insulated plasterboard (62mm) and skim. 90% of the time we just end up doing a curve because we are given a set amount of days to finish the job. Depending on size usually 2-3 days. Bet it was nice not having to do them Velux reveals lol.

      Arrr fair play to you mate. Can’t be easy in the summer as someone stated before!! Haha yeah it was nice to have them bathed with timber - definitely made my job easier ha!

    Love the videos buddy. You ever used stop bead on internal corners? It leaves a crisp straight line and also allows you to get both sides of the ceiling on at the same time.

    Interesting that you used the same mix for the second coat. Is this something that can be applied to most plastering jobs? Thanks.

      @Danny-ql2ep Před 2 lety

      It’s how most of us were taught I was anyway smaller hits same gear sets quicker 2 separate mixes give you more time

    • @PlasteringForBeginners
      @PlasteringForBeginners  Před 2 lety

      Yeah, exactly as Danny said! I often do it this way if I want a faster hit. You can do it when you like really pal!

      @lukemcquaid8481 Před 2 lety

      I’ve tried so many you want to get your self a twitcher (flexible) corner trowel and the best one I’ve used is a ragni

    • @PlasteringForBeginners
      @PlasteringForBeginners  Před 2 lety

      It’s the Ragni one mate - only get the gray one like the one in this video. It’s the wider winged one (3 inch maybe). Hope this helps pal

    You speed skim second coat all the time Blaine? Don’t bother normally

    • @PlasteringForBeginners
      @PlasteringForBeginners  Před 2 lety

      It depends on the hit mate. I don’t always do it, especially if the plaster is setting a bit faster than usual. I’ll only use it if the plaster is still wet and payable 👍
