Pre-ordered all the MKT forties except for one through my dealer. Now I anxiously run to my mailbox every day for the next 365 days waiting for them to arrive. This is my fitness program. Thanks Rapido!
Thank you for acknowledging the Katy (Missouri-Kansas-Texas). Plenty of Katy modelers out there.
It's such a beauty scheme!
Yep, now that they have the straight 40 maybe we can get the late 1960s Barriger Red scheme. It’s hard to find for some reason. Though I won’t complain, I’m happy to get that mother slug set.
Agreed! Thank you so much!
I'll be wanting one of those Cotton Belt GP40's!
They're pretty sweet!
Just put in my pre order for all the mkt units . This is exciting!!!
YESSSSSSSS! I’ve been waiting for a Katy mother/Slug set since before Pluto got demoted! (Still the 9th planet in my opinion….the magic school bus is never wrong) …and it comes with MO-POWER?! I’m preordering that TO-DAY! Thanks gents for such great products (and videos)
I shall patiently wait for the run of Rio Grande. I have no layout for said Rio Grande but nonetheless wait with a smile..
I'm behind you too. They're still 9 planets.
No doubt about it!
Ill be getting an IC and WC! Thank you, Rapido!
I'll probably be picking up one of those WCs too. Felt like it's been a while since there's been a decent WC 4-axle road switcher.
Nice of the Katy line to come out of the hat.
You'all have too much fun at work!
It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it!
First off, let me say bravo on Rapido doing yet another powered slug! Secondly, these units sure look nice. I hope in a future run the Cotton Belt units will be 1980's GP40R versions with no footboards and Southern Pacific's TEBU's. 😀👍
Excited for a zebra. Really want ONR one. I like that tease for the Go Gp40tc as well. I see what you did there
GP40TC?? Must've been a glitch! 😏
Another impressive emd 4 axle model is being made along with the original gp38, I look forward to seeing these original gp40 models when they are completed and I personally like the Western Pacific and Cotton Belt examples of the gp40 units that are being offered.
Thank you so much for doing the proper CN GP40! Ordering the Wet noodle 4017... Now I don't have to order the Atlas one and have it custom painted!! Thank you again 😊
We thought it was about time!
WOW! Thank you for the CN units!
No Conrail? No New York Central? C’mon, hosers…
There will be future runs!
Buy an undecorated one and paint that baby up!
It's a magic show ? It's a astronomy lesson ? NO ! It's RapidoTrains !
Love seeing that RF&P is being done, I’ll definitely be getting one or two. Hope so see some SAL Jolly Green Giants next run!!
OUTSTANDING as usual by RAPIDO
The GP40 predated (just barely) the GP38 but because it's Jeremy we'll let it slide because Jeremy's awesome. And, yes, Pluto is STILL a planet (just waiting for its artificial sun and work colony, "Praise be to the company"). Oh, and a GP40 in SCL would be nice. Once got saved by one years ago but that's another story.
You guys are awesome!🎅
Finally!! After creating the GP 38. I knew that you guys were going to produce the GP 40s. Guys it's time.. please produce the GP 40p-2s in CNJ Blue there is 13 unit numbers to choose from. SP and UP had them too. Then there is the NJT GP40ph-2. 4100-4112. These are the original 13 CNJ GP40p locomotives that were converted to NJT GP40ph-2s. 4100, 4101, 4105,4109, 4112. They are the oldest diesels still in active in non revenue trains service and commuter train revenue service since 1968. I am a NJT Retired Mechanical Foreman. My crew and I Maintained and Repaired them since 1968. They are the most reliable locomotives in active service. Recently 4101 has been re- in the original NJ DOT Blue Bird paint scheme. The 4109 has been re- painted in its original CNJ scheme. I would buy all of them. If you produced them. I predict if you produced the CNJ long hood flat back GP 40ps and the Angled long hood versions GP40ph-2s they would be THE best selling locomotives that Rapido ever produced. Also if you guys are really up for more additional GP40 versions there is the NJT GP40fh-2s. Both variations of the NJT GP40s are also in the NY Metropolitan Transit Authority...If Rapido produced them. You guys would be the answer to the 40+ years of waiting for a company to mass production of these locomotives accurately and correctly. They would be without a doubt The Hottest Selling Locomotives that Rapido has ever and will ever produce. You heard that here first!!
I would like to make a correction to mentioning The NYTA having GP40ph-2s. I apologize for the Senior Citizen Brain Fart. I meant to say Metro North of New York operates GP40PH-2s and GP40FH locomotives as well. Also I would like to add.. Ex NJT GP40ph-2bs were purchased by the Maryland Transit Authority and added to their fleet for revenue service trains.. aka Commuter passenger trains.
I love the slugs. 💙 T.E.N.
1:03… does this mean a new run of FPA-4s are in the works? 😉
Thank you guys so much! This announcement shows you listen to your customers. Got my WC GP40's ordered. One question are they going to to have the diecast fuel tank like on the M420W? Also, are the WC units come with the replacement window frames on the firemen's side that WC did to most of their units. It seems that WC is the only one who did that. Now, I'm still waiting on the GM RTS buses. Between all the pictures and Jason actually driving one, it seems like you're teasing us. Has anyone been noticing a trend? The last few models are following Atlas catalog of locomotives GP38, GP40, H16-44, RS11, and C30-7. Jason even said it's possible to do the C424/425's.
hello rapidotains it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
Thanks Randy!
Love the Western Pacific & Cotton Belt..
OMG the deadpan bald guy is great! I need some of those GP40s!
Awesome, the Katy 'three-stooges' are legendary! Now about that caboose......)
Sluging it out at Rapido! Slackers😂
Superb models! I really like the lit gauges that are inside of the cab, would love to see a Boston & Maine paint scheme for the next run!
Agree! Blue or black and orange with the big G? I found a few pics on google of #311, 314, #315 that would great to see. B&M #200 Bi-Centennial GP38-2 would also be amazing. B&M and Maine Central modelers have it tough. We rarely get good models. When they do come out they’re sold out instantly.
@@danrao3707 Oh yeah totally agree, seems like all of the new england stuff on eBay gets sold relatively quickly i noticed haha. Would be really nice if they could do both Guilford and big blue! And yeah the bicentennial would also be really cool, i have one in N Scale and would love to have one in HO as well.
Having fun while building model trains dang!
I like the look of these. I may just have to rework one of the SSW units into a 1990s era GP40R. With both GP40’s and U25B’s under your belt, could we see Southern Pacific TEBU slugs?
Can we take a moment to highlight how awesome the video production was? Really sells the GP in my opinion
No NYC? They got the first GP40 manufactured.
BTW I'd like to see some of the modern leasing companies made. They would be a good fit all.
I love you, Rapido.
These look great guys!
Excited to see if we might eventually get some sort of GP40 38-2 rebuilds since so many of them ended up getting rebuilt in that way.
Well Mr Shron, if you produced a CP Rail GP38AC , there’s only one variation. These units were seen all across Canada. Maybe also incorporate a CN GP38-2 with only a few variations. Your half way there with your US GP38s and the unique Canadian handrails on the GP40 CN announcement.
Pluto is a planet.
Sure would be nice to see a Canadian slug unit to go with the gp38
Thank you Rapido for doing the IC GP40R rebuilds. These are must have locomotives for anyone modeling IC or CN
Excellent, i feel like i'm doing three things at once.
I'm choosing the next locomotive, i'm watching the X files, and i'm listen to the latest comedians show !
Njt/Mncr/ctr gp40ph-2👀👀👀
I definitely can’t wait to get one. I have to ask, with the GP-9 slug and now the MKT slug 501, Would there be any chance of a future release of the Seaboard Coast Line/ CSX GE U-36B with a MATE unit?
Wow!! I was just wishing for more SP caboose’s and was surprised that somebody (Rapido) would also do a cupola one, but i was concerned that the marker lights would probably be forgotten, but no!! You guys hit on the mark!! Please make bay window cabooses too!! Once with the “frog eyes!” So far once I see the “frog eyes” are too bulky!! Will buy the the Cotton Belt for sure or if you have multiple road numbers will get two!!
Oh, by the way. I have a picture of a cupola SP caboose I took when I was 10 bout 50 years ago. The lettering was “stacked” not like how your prototype has it; across.
It’d be really cool if these existed in N scale as well
I love the models, id love to see more n scale stuff though
I see what you did there, that tease is GOing to be great
DO THE GP40TC!!!! Great model! hello from calif!
These look very neat.
Thanks!
the SP caboose!!! OMG!!!!!!!
I need that CN one!
And it needs you!
@@rapidotrainsyes!
I would love to see Rapido make the New York Central Mercury train set. The 1930s set that is. Including the Mercury steam locomotive. That would be incredible.
If you ever do the GMD GP38-2 eventually you should do Devco GP38-2s
Damn man! I just bought an Atlas GP40 with ditch lights and am fully detailed for Canadian Pacific #4600.
Hopefully, you guys can match this!
You people crack me up 🤣🤣👍👍
Yes!! MKT!!!!!!!
Nice engines thanks for sharing. Pluto is a plant no doudt in my mind. 🤕
GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
Looking for a smaller steam locomotive (Berkshire or smaller) with working smoke effects, hope you guys will produce one at some point
Hopefully the slug will be sold separately 😊
@1:41, or as we say here in Boston: "Mo-Powah".
Wicked awesome!
More Rapido gold!!!
My goodness, U25Bs, C30-7s, GP38s, and now GP40s, whats next? GP40X, CF7, GP60M maybe?
Amazing video
5:34 Y'know that scream is famous. It's put in all Harrison Ford (less Blade Runner) movies. {Note in the German Train scene.} Ah, the GP40... During high school in Wisconsin mid-late 1980's, I chased a CNW peddler freight with a CNW GP-7 and MKT GP40. I asked "...why the GP40?" They told me: "Well, since the cabooses were mostly gone, we needed an extra seat for a brakeman..." They were towing the GP40 dead just for the extra seat! John BC, Canada
What would be truly amazing is for these locomotives to be available in O scale!!!! There is a market out here!
Could one be expecting a GP 40 - 2 variant, specifically a nj transit GP 40 - 2?
One could certainly expect them! Not yet sure if one will actually get them though...
Ill keep my fingers crossed@@rapidotrains
Hope a New Jersey transit gp40 variant might be in future plans?
So we've got the straight 40s, GP40TC when?
This looks amazing, i cant wait for the production samples to come in! By the way hows the d10 coming along? It went from 3rd quarter to october and now sits at 4th quarter 2023
Please make Amtrak viewliner sleepers and I’m still waiting for the rapid-o’s
I WISH you must always include a undecorated version
The GP40TC is the new Turboliner isn't it.
Great offering...like them all and you have not even made run 2 which will probably offer schemes that will put a dent into my wallet...i know they are coming !!
2:16 Me with this hobby. I feel your pain xD
I have shifted my modeling focus exclusively to HO scale depressed flat cars carrying loads of 12 oz (355ml) budweiser cans through the wall in my living room to my depressed wife sitting on the couch. And a return loop back to the kitchen. Do you think the Gep40 is the right power for this operation? If not I will keep using my overland trackmobile
Time to sell the Atlas ones. 😊
WC forever!!!
I'll take a CN or 2 and a Wisconsin Central. Will ONR versions come too ??
As for the micro second clip of the GP40TC... I will take one of each!!
Would have loved to see an undercoated version of the slug for a freelance road.
How did you get a dalek prop, I’m so jealous!!! 😂
WE NEED MRL #500!!!!!
Sit tight!
Toronto ... Commuter ...
I hope to see RF-16's be made.
Aw, shoot. this is gonna cost a pretty penny.
Wait.... it's still a ways off, i should be ok... yeah. Yeah. Gotta get a CN, because CN is who i grew up with (and a smattering of ONR), and, well, there's no SP, but SSW'll do in a pinch.
Know what'd be really cool, and nice? SD-35s. Yep. Totally awesome.
4:55 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Are you going to make the Amtrak p32 ac dm?
GP40TC?
What makes you say that?
Are these the same loco's that haul the Rocky Mountaineer from Lake Louise to Vancouver.
The video shows a different RF&P scheme to the website, just curious about what’s going with that.
Sill NO Undecorated lone slug offering !!!!!!!!
Can you purchase the slug separately or only as a mother slug set
We're only offering them in a set at this time.
I will take Illinois central and southern pacific. 3 units of each 🤓😀
Can you do Seaboard System in the next run, I would love to have one as 6678
How about some Grand Trunk Western GP40's ?
Needs to be done in a future release!
I would love to see a 38 or 40 in Illinois Central Gulf orange and white
No KCS?
Where did Jason come up with the Silurian mask?!
The 2 CN units that ran on passenger services... what exactly made them passenger geared or passenger specific??
They were re-geared to go up to 89mph to make them suitable for passenger service.
Give us our turbotrains alreadyyyyyy
