I can relate to Guy’s dad yelling at him, My dad grabbed arm and practically threw me through the card shop door, when he found out the Pete Rose rookie card I wanted was $30.00. ( late sixties probably ) Old time parenting I guess.

You know what I learned from you today? As a coin collector I always believed that EVERYTHING that a coin dealer had was for sale. Even coin dealers have "special" coins close to their hearts they will never sell. Good to know and restores my faith in the hobby.

Already had to let a few things go just to cover a few expenses this year..
In about a year and a half or so things should get better for me...
By then I will be able to access as much as I want from 401K and recover what I had to sell...

I wonder how many kids in the 1920’s era had a coin collection of what was then just basic coins that they put out in a hole under a stump and forgot about. Meanwhile some of these highly sought after coins are in a sack now embedded in a tree trot likely never to be found or chopped up by a stump grinder 😮
As a former tree guy, we were always looking and hoping.... Only found weed 😂

I bought a handful of The Star coin catalogs from the early 1920s and I have one from 1892 I love looking through those books. The chain cent in 1892 which is 100 years old is worth $2.50

He should employ someone to stream on eBay live. His prices are less than half of what I’ve seen on live shows
And why is he cleaning coins? Unless he has a way of cleaning them, that doesn’t look like he cleaned them, he’s destroying the numismatic value of the coin.
Today I hear Silver closed Friday at 34 Spot , I bought it at 31 on Thursday and I think I also paid about 4 above in my LCS so , it's just sit and Hold , I had days where I thought about selling , and it seems that when I think abut it , it's like 29 Dollars , One Day when I need Money and Silver is around $40.00 or more I might sell about one Tenth .. idk :\ QC

I've got a 1919 Merc with a gas bubble hole almost full bands can't find it's value but it's got to be worth something,I got it through family member that worked at the mint in the 70s a lot of error coins also handed down to me.

the 16d is rare most common he is right but ive sern several ms 62-64 at places like northern nevada coin and the prices are crazy but they are out there

Here in Canada, we're heavily digital. Sporting events are cash free along with most parking and some public facilities.
I've gone back to cash simply because it's more human. Financial privacy for both parties, tips re-emerge as far more personal & meaningful. I'd love to tip in silver or btc, but realistically, when you give most people a few extra fiat notes, it makes their day.
