@@sandboxaccountz.zy.7012 not exactly. UN ‘resolutions’ are just that. They are not binding. Our geopolitical stances has never been tied to the UN. The US, as do other nations, uses the body and its seat on the ‘security’ council among others to strong arm other nations to do our bidding or to push a certain agenda or narrative. The UN only has the power to which we give it. “United” is a nice thing to think about, but anyone who actually believes any of the member states are ‘united’ is a fool. And those who assert the UN has any enforceable enforcement powers is of the same ilk.
We need to exit the UN and the WHO. I don’t understand why we’re so quick to give up our sovereignty.

I was so happy to hear from Senator Mike Lee regarding his proposed legislation. I'm 73 and have for years felt the UN and the WHO have been utilizing our resources and tax dollars as they gaily lead us down their primrose path. I applaud you Senator Lee for proposing this legislation.
Oo when you were about 70 you didn't notice the vital role WHO played during the pandemic, when the US had a president with no clue what to do. Good luck with the next pandemic.

@@davidsilvercreek8541 Hi David, my opinion isn't expert. I trust the virologists and epidemiologists for that. However I know enough to see that your claim that the WHO spread covid is false. What they did do is alert all world governments that there was indeed a pandemic and how best to respond to it. They also facilitated the collaboration of the world's best teams of virologists to develop vaccines against the virus in record time, saving millions of lives. If you would rather face the next (inevitable) pandemic by relying on how much big pharma can make instead of a coordinated approach yielding the best outcomes for the most people, I think you're mistaken.
That is the most appropriate action that could be taken under the circumstances. Charity begins at home . At home send ALL the migrants home and start to take care of our police firemen veterans and senior with medical personnel trained in America and let all be citizens born in America.

This statement I will 100% agree with as a non US citizen. It has always been left to the USA to pay the lions share in the UN, NATO and other global offices. This is bloody disgraceful and while some nations claim to be poor, I see that wealth does exist in one form or another. The UN should be funded on a per capita basis as a minimum and it should not be left to industrial rich nations to supplement it. However, that said all decisions are then equal and a majority vote rule should apply. As for the UNSC, the power of one country to veto should be abolished as well, or if it remains, then the invoking of the article 99 by the Secretary General overrides this rule. There should be sufficient reason for invoking the rule, such as imminent nuclear war or such.
The UN would not be a force that provides military, but sanctions or not an action which all members abide with. The role of the UN has gone from simple to beyond its reach in 70 years. It needs to get back to its grass roots tasking.
We should have left the UN long ago. I really hope this passes.

Since the UN chooses to operate rogue it is time that the U.S. disenfranchises itself from the whole UN operation and to go a step further issue an eviction notice to them and tell them to relocate outside the U.S. The building could then be converted into housing for homeless veterans and also include a grocery store and doctors office that could be used by the veterans. The veterans that would reside there would be required to follow extensive rules that would prohibit the use of drugs and alcohol among residents.

A law needs to be passed that restricts the government from giving tax dollars to any organization, country or persons unless the people
