4 weeks into my total reverse shoulder replacement surgery.Had it done at the VA Loma Linda hospital by Dr. Sayed,a sports medical surgeon. Can't say enough about the result so far. No pain since waking up from surgery. Spent 4 days in the hospital, shoulder constantly bathed in a recirculation ice water bath. Have kept it, my shoulder, in a sling and "tried" not to move any more than needed. As mentioned, 4 weeks out, never any pain, I am typing this with both hands, and looking forward to starting PT on May 11, 2015. If you need this, go do it. Make sure you have a DR. who has done this several times, with a good team to assist. You'll be happy you did. Pain free!!!!! Whooooo Hooooooooo!

Great video without the blood and gore. I had rTSA on my right shoulder 10 months ago and my left shoulder 6 weeks ago. All I can say is .....Oh what a relief it is to be free of shoulder pain. Two success stories performed by a leading Upper Limb surgeon who sticks to shoulder-replacements only!

I've had four shoulder surgeries with open cuff repair with complete tear on each shoulder. So, two surgeries on my right and left shoulder. I have always been in pain. Since my last procedure in 2013, I thought I was done with these surgeries. It's been a year since it started again with frozen shoulder, in late 2022, and had no improvement from continued treatment. Now, I need to see the surgeon, and I'm tired. I've been told I have limited space in both my shoulders with bone spurs that greatly contributed to the complete tear of my rotator. I would like to ask for a reverse shoulder replacement due to living with my disability and continued pain since my first repair in 2003. I hope the surgeon agrees, I can't tolerate living with continued pain and loss of ROM. I'm seeing a surgeon at UC Davis very soon, and I hope for a better outcome for a this surgical option. Thanks for the video and I pray for all those who suffer from multiple shoulder repairs. 🥺 🙏

I had my right shoulder done, it was a very good choice it took longer to heal than most because of Cancer in the bone down the Arm but I’m very Thank ful I did, !!!!!

This will be my 10th orthopedic surgery (most spinal fusions), but having a *massive* rotator cuff tear of my primary shoulder (at three points), exacerbated by a recent dislocation of my longhead (upper) biceps tendon, you never really grasp how much you rely upon this darned joint. Standing pain is a constant 2 on 10 scale, with spikes of 10 with the majority of standard motions. I was offered a free experimental surgery (for FDA approval), requiring a cortisone injection, with three months of physical therapy which I've declined for several reasons, being I'm gaining weight due to my inability to perform the simplest of activities, and I simply cannot take another 3 months of this pain. Great video, and good to hear I won't be in a sling for 3 months, as is the case with the arthroscopic approach to this surgery. Can't wait!!!

10th? That’s kid stuff. Lol. I’m on #20 in the last 20 years including 5 back surgeries. I must have been put together with Chinese parts. Lol.

I had this op nearly 12 months ago after a traumatic fall. I'm unfortunately still in pain. Feel like someone hit me with an iron rod. I have a reasonable range of movement but cannot reach upwards or behind my back. It could be worse I guess. I could have lost my arm but I just wish it would improve. It seems to take a long time to get over for some people. I'm 70 so maybe that's the problem.

@herculesinwyoming I'm grateful as well but I know life will never be the same. This is a serious operation and I know the limitations and pain I have are permanent.

I am scheduled to have a reverse shoulder replacement it looks like in 10 days. I am 55 years old. Final determination will be done after he opens me up and sees the total damage. I viewed the article very well done. The question is from what I gather from the watching, I will have LESS movement and range of motion than I do know is this correct because this is kind of freaking me out a little well actually a lot......

I was told that I will need a Reversal shoulder. I fell 2 months after my shoulder was replaced. The nightstand corner is not very forgiving .I was very much able to get out of my room once I realized that I had done something wrong with my shoulder replacement. Had my Ultrasound done and An CT scan. Thursday, this week they will perform a test on the fluid draw. Severe Trauma can cause a major infection from what I was told. Either way, Dr. Said for me to plan on around the end of October.

Gary - Probably not advisable so soon unless its an exceptional case. Usu age for RSA would be 70+. Most certainly cant allow lifting heavy or heavy work after RSA

Get another specialist to check it out. You should not be having this problem if you did, in fact, have a TOTAL shoulder replacement.
