In the reboot Brain decided to save Pinky istead of kiling him like Brain from the alternate reality said. And that means that Pinky is more important for brain than taking over the world!
The original show's halloween episode had Brain (ruler of the world) give up the world (and any chance to take it over ever again, but to be fair this idiot didn't read his contract with the devil when he signed), for a chance to save Pinky who was being happily tortured in hell for eternity.
He trusts Pinky more than he trusts himself
He's given up the world one time because Pinky appreciated him

In brains night off, they literally went on a date and that was the whole episode 💀
