    I’m fascinated by walking too…not so much the mechanism but by pilgrimages and the history and the power of the journey etc etc.

      I'm fascinated by both....the mechanics because it puts into perspective how complex it really is to better understand my struggles....and then the poetry of walking, which is this book. I think you would love this book! ❤

    I completely “got” this. I found the words of the author being read while images of you walking to be beautiful and artistic. I just really appreciated this video. Great job.

      Oh thank you so much Danielle!! I am loving the book and the words she writes, her "investigation" into the history of walking are so magnificent I think helps my b-roll look pretty good 🥰 Thank you kindly for your comment! I have a big smile this morning because of it! 💕

    I have moments when I’m walking my dogs and the meds are on that my walk feels normal and it’s the most amazing feeling.
    I can walk without thinking about walking!

    Great topic, Jennifer! I have always loved taking long walks. It helps me clear my mind and think through problems. It’s the one thing that is the most frustrating things about the way my Parkinson’s has affected me, as I can struggle mightily at times. But I have my good moments as well!😊BTW, you still have some moves!

      Thank you Jeremy! Walking is vital for so many reasons and a big one is to clear ones head. It's frustrating at times for me too but I am still moving and shaking, lol! 🥰

    Taking a step back (pun attempted) and contemplating the act of walking was really neat, and thought provoking! Long walks have taken on a prominent role in my daily routine since PD came along nearly a year ago. I’d always been a runner but now find that walking adds a meditative experience to the day’s exercise; so it’s a twofer! Thanks for the video- and Happy New Year!

      Thank you!! I love walking with my dog and it is contemplative, and you get to see things you wouldn't see on a run. But every now and then I love to do quick sprints with her, and those feel great too! 🥰

    I love your creative topics. It's funny how we don't really think about walking until something about it is different. When my left foot starts acting up, then it's all I can think about as I walk.

    As an animator, I have had a fascination with the mechanics of walking that predates my PD that I think has helped me maintain the ability a bit. Even after working on a feature film and a couple of games I still find creating a convincing character’s walk to be about the most difficult thing to animate. It’s basically a controlled fall, where we continuously throw ourselves out of balance and then catch ourselves again. It’s a miracle of the nervous system even when everything is working as it should.

    • @ParkinsonsWigglesProject
      @ParkinsonsWigglesProject  Před 7 měsíci +1

      It really is a miracle of the human body! I can't even draw a hand, and can only imagine how difficult capturing a character's walk would be. Thank you so much for giving a deeper perspective of walking....I hadn't thought of it and am curious now if she touches on illustration in one of her essays?! 🥰

    I just discovered your website, and if you let me know how, I'd love to talk to you.
    I recently found out i have Parkinson's... by accident. Fun fun. I went to the Mayo Clinic preparing for a completely different and unrelated issue that I was having, and they connected the dots and figured it out. I had never connected the dots. I had no idea that acting out my nightmares and getting very physical during the night eas a major symptom.
    With hindsight being 20/20, as I look back now I can see, realize, and connect the dots. But I knew something was wrong. Wrong. I kept pushing doctors about it and they just kept blowing it off. There's got to be some way to fix the early recognition and diagnosis of this. Now I'm 54 and freaking out. I know 1 thing for sure.... I REFUSE to be a burden to anyone else. Period!
    I just wish the spasms & jerks were in my "privates"! Then i could at least make lemonade with the lemons!
    😎

      It's easier said than done but do your best to not freak out...it won't do you any good! I got my first therapist to help me process my diagnosis and what it meant. There is still so much life to live!

      Is it like that all day? My feet do that in the morning when it's time for my meds. I have C/L induced Dystonia but it goes away usually in 10-20 minutes and I can't really walk during and it hurts. Thank you for sharing! 🥰

    I suddenly start tremor in my right hand and I have smell problem and small handwriting and sallowing difficulty and I go to neurologist they say it's not parkinson's and I am 20 year old but face like mask face so even after my neurologist recommend me dopa pet scan for parkinson's and then It's normal no parkinson's but still the symptoms growing I don't no what it is please say

      Try to find an MDS a Movement Disorder Specialist. They are a neurologist specializing in Parkinson's disease. If you can't find I would get a second or third opinion. That's what I had to do...which was kind of my own fault but it can take a while to get a diagnosis, especially being so young. Hang in there!!

  • @MikeMercury

    hello dear

  •  Před 7 měsíci

    People with this disease have different symptoms from each other despite similar symptoms is that true?

    • @ParkinsonsWigglesProject
      @ParkinsonsWigglesProject  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Yes and no, it's complicated 🙃Take for example one symptom, the tremor. I have an intention tremor, but most people with PD have a resting tremor. So while I have a tremor, my tremor is not a dominant symptom for me. My tremor appears if I experience stress or my meds are wearing off. So it's both things we can be the same or different, it depends. Hope that makes some sense! 🥰

    •  Před 7 měsíci

      @@ParkinsonsWigglesProjectSo it basically varies on the individual because I noticed my thumbs pinky index fingers toes start twitching yesteryear and I have been having internal tremors migraines and headaches muscle aches twitching and they get more worse when stressed so I do not know if I have Parkinson's nor MS so I am scared

    • @ParkinsonsWigglesProject
      @ParkinsonsWigglesProject  Před 7 měsíci +1

      @ you definitely want to figure out what is going on, hopefully you have an appointment see a neurologist or a Movement Disorder Specialist. It's easier said than done, but try not to stress out....it only makes things worse, won't benefit you, and you don't have a diagnosis yet either. I hope you figure out what is going as soon as you can! I know it's a difficult process but it could be something you haven't thought of and totally treatable! Let me know how it all goes♥

    •  Před 7 měsíci

      @@ParkinsonsWigglesProject I know I am going to see a neurologist on the first next month but it's hard because I started to have these symptoms this year and it has gotten worse plus I have fibromyalgia osteoarthritis spinal stenosis irritable bowel syndrome spondylosis but the internal tremors and vibrations has been more prevalent and I just noticed last spring and summer
