This became one of my favorite Jay-Z songs ever after hearing Pharell's explanation of the beat. To msot, he said a bunch of nothing. To me, he explained it perfectly. Then Jay came in and completely blessed the track with an incredible conceptual masterpiece.
You can see those creative wheels in Jov's head kick into overdrive once the beat starts playing. Pherrell hooked up a really nice track here! Man, I love this video. This is Hip Hop history that we are witnessing right here!
I honestly dont think we will ever have another rapper like Jay-z in this lifetime... Hate him or love him, what jay-z has done for hiphop is on another level
watchin this is just..inspirational. pharrell knows this song is just...it. and i love the look on jays face when he hears it. you could tell he was already formulatin the lyrics right then. instant hit man. best song off the album to me by far.
That niaga got a soft voice.... But he KILT THAT ISH... IM BOUT TO LISTEN TO THAT ONE NOW! I tend to love Pharrells music no matter what Artist he collabs with. Justin Timberlake Jay Z Brittney Spears - The songs I would replay only feature the neptunes!
It's called, Fade to Black. Check it out, its a documentary that follows the making of his 'supposed' last CD and also follows his Madison Square Garden concert too. Its a really good watch. Gives you some good insight into what goes on when Jay is making his magic.
Love this vid! When Pherrel starts up the the beat for Hov, you can see the wheels in his head start turning, cooking up something to lay down over it. This is one of hip hop's hottest samples (Diana Ross's "The Interim"), and the song that Jay-Z lays down on top of it is just, damn, I can't even think of a superlative that would be fitting! Still, this is one of hip hop best songs right here;)
@youngbeno man you know what. i remember when this album came out and me and my brothers just rode and listened to the whole album front to back and that allure came on!!!. bro we listened 7 times and that shit became a everyday song for us real talk
@ikelenafly To take that even further, Kanye and Timbo had beats that were done long before and prepared for Jay's (or anyone's) arrival. Jay made Pharrell sit down and make that one from scratch more or less while he waited, even though Pharrell had beats already made that he personally loved. It's nice to see that single minded focus output such a sick final product. Jay's flow on it was just sick icing on the cake.
Jay had no words when that beat dropped because knew Pharrell was right and a beast. Pharrell doesn’t make music he makes stories.
“That’s it? That’s the speech?” 😂😂😂
fav song on the whole black album. Allure
Man I thought I was the only one lol this song IS the black album.. fucking always play this shit
Lol, funny how Pharrell says "Goodbye"
Lol. Like a call centre agent.🤣 You'd expect him to sign off with, "A'ight. One." or something like that.
Definitely one of the best beats, from the 2000-2010 era no doubt
This beat sends chills up my spine. Pharrell, you are a true artist!...amazing

Hollis2Hollywood *MOST
suns setting, raining, Jay’s taking the train out of town. that’s what i envision every time
I love how Hov's got a real stern look on his face but at the same time he's feeling the beat.
Pharrell is one of the few people to deliberately bring music theory on a Jay Z record.
I love Pharrells confidence. Inspiring.
You can feel the homie's in the sky on this beat.
V a l n s k y *HOMIES
This is a nice beat. Can't forget that Chad is apart of this too. He does the add ons and mixing
ONE OF THE BEST BEATS EVA MADE

The look on Jay-Z's face when he looked at Pharrell at 2:28 was like him saying, "This sick beat is making me sick!!!!" Priceless!!!! LOL!!!!!
Yeah I agree with Jay-Z .... He is definitely at his best when he is with Pharrell
I love all pharrell's beats, All different
A memorable moment in hip hop right here
That niaga got a soft voice.... But he KILT THAT ISH... IM BOUT TO LISTEN TO THAT ONE NOW! I tend to love Pharrells music no matter what Artist he collabs with. Justin Timberlake Jay Z Brittney Spears - The songs I would replay only feature the neptunes!
Allure is in jayz top 3...fight me
John Dew idk if it's in my top 3 but I can understand why you would say that. It's definitely one of my favs off the album.

one of my favorite beats. :)
so smooth....perfect timing on the track
one of my favorite tracks off the Black Album
Pharrell is a legend.
..and then Jay just "blacked out" on the shit, it's evident when you hear the track. For me, Allure is the greatest track of the latter career of him.

Yo, as soon as the beat hit my hear, i could hear jays voice. like some automatic response.

I agree totally
Só quero saber quem foi a lenda que legendou isso em PT-BR em 2008
lol thought it was the last album, then came blueprint 3, so ambitious :)
@18isboss The song is called "Allure".
The combination of these two equals AMAZING!!!! I love when these two come together and make something beautiful.
The title is "Allure" its on the black album
Didn't know the Neptunes did that beat..... Now I loike it even more.....
@Proseedz What r u talking about the entire song is amazing from Hov's lyrics to Skateboard P's beatmaking and singing,Allure is a classic Jay-Z song
Pharrell is so dope with the neptunes .
Major 7 chords have a "falling in love" sound to em
This is arguably Jay-z's best song ever!!!!!!
@Crimptube I thought that too but if it make his album he's fuckin wit it major, and it made the black album which was dope.
Ai meu coração

@trey14211 i was speaking in generalities. because i really love both of them for their musical talents.
allure of the game!!
Jay-z tried to stay so cool but the beat just moved him lol no one can resist the temptation of pharrells talent.
If Jay rejected this I would have NEVER listened to him this song made me LOVE THE NEPTUNES and JAY.
lol jay looked like h walked in there like.."shut the fuck up nigga and just play this shit...got me over here all late and shit"
