    Just back from the Scottish Highlands and did the same run. Stunning roads, beautiful scenery. Ideal roads for the motorcycle.

    Bettyhill a magical place. Looking to retiring there in the next couple of years, if we can find somewhere to buy. My husbands family are from Bettyhill originally and we still have relatives there, albeit not close relatives. Farr Bay is also a magnificent beach, and we have been lucky that each time we were there, we had it to ourselves. We were there 3 weeks ago, and hopefully go back again in a couple of weeks time. Really enjoyed your video, Thank you !

      There are few places in the world prettier than that. Thank you for the comment!

    I cycled this route back in summer of 1992 :-)

    Very isolated at the top of Scotland, it even looks like Cornwall at the other end of the country. All right if the car breaks down here and many miles away from AA and RAC assistance.

      Never thought about that. You're definitely in for a long wait in case of a breakdown.

    May seem undaunting for some, as those roads have been widened and straightened, 70s 80s these mostly where single track and roads I learnt to drive on ,good to see use of corner cut as we used to always do , called looking ahead and know your roads. Thanks good memories from thurso to tongue ,just wee bit further on...

    Parece que Escocia no dispone de muchos km de vías de gran capacidad (autopistas) , hay mucha diferencia con el resto de U.K ? , por cierto , buen vid como siempre ...

    • @RoadsofEuropeverreme
      @RoadsofEuropeverreme  Před 7 lety

      Las Highlands o Tierras Altas son una de las regiones con menor densidad de población de Europa, así que ni hay autopistas ni hacen falta. En el resto del país sí que hay una red de vías de alta capacidad parecida a la de cualquier otro país europeo.

      I think the nearest motorway to this spot is the M8 through Glasgow. Is any part of the A82 along Loch Ness dualled, though?

      A deadly road? Its just a bit of inanimate tarmac.

      Its completely worn out now too. I moved there because of the roads and they are ruined by NC500 tourism now.

      @@Ukmongoose3 I only go in autumn/winter, but even then it feels like maybe the whole tourism thing wasn't such a good idea :(
