I agree with you we need more if this maybe the world would improve if we thought about the words in Mat Munroe's song and just listen to his calming tones
The spirit of this song is resurrected the moment you heard this. It's like a ghost song haunting everyone through memories. A bridge between yesterday and today.

I met him in 1981 - the year my dad died. Dad used to sing his songs in clubs. Matt had the most lovely voice - watched a show a couple of years ago where his son Matt Jnr. sang his songs - great night x
It's so beautiful. I keep listening and will listen to it in the future. The 60's songs were much nicer than the modern ones and people were much more polite in those times. Thanks to those who have given us this beauty. Matt is gone, but his songs will always live on.

You forgot the LA, LA, LA's. Lo, Lo, Lo, La, La, La, Laaaa, La la, LalaLaaah la la. I think if Matt had created himself a sort of shady, gangster persona he'd have been as big as Sinatra, but I think he just was himself and people didn't find him as fascinating as Franky and his gang. As a singer, Monro was great. I'm glad to listen to most of his songs on repeat.
No wonder Matt Monro loved this song so much and performed it so will, it was written specially for him by his lifelong friend the great Don Black. Two equally gifted men who rose from humble beginnings to worldwide fame. We won't ever see their likes again!

Everybody seemed to have time to devote to me
Everyone I saw all swore they knew me
Once upon a song
Main attraction, couldn't buy a seat
The celebrity, celebrities were dying to meet
I've had every accolade bestowed on me
And so you see
If I never sing another song
It shouldn't bother me
I had my share of fame
You know my name
If I never sing another song
Or take another bow
I would get by, but I'm not sure how
Always posing, but you love it all
Though you have to learn to act like you're above it all
Everything I did the world applauded
Once upon a star
Framed citations, hung on every wall
Got a scrapbook full of quotes, I can recall them all
There were times I felt the world belonged to me
And so you see
If I never sing another song
It shouldn't bother me
I had my share of fame
You know my name
If I never sing another song
Or take another bow
I would get by, but I'm not sure how
But I'm not sure how
But I'm not sure how

"Where do I begin?" Question that is stuck in my head cause I know I was born already in 50's 60s and was there when these songs was played. I love the life back then than today😣
I'm not that old but one of my wishes to leave back in this period of times everything is glamour and simple and pretty .. if I have time machine no question I will jump there then I will destroy it to stay there.
His voice is soothing and tantalizing.
The kind of music that blows away one's anxieties. It goes deep into the soul.
Rip Matt your voice is pure and utter magic if only singers of today had a 10th of your talent they would be so lucky xx
Muriel Barker oh so true

One of the greatest talent the music industry has ever had.
Reminding my childhood to listen this song without understanding even one word. Only can stare with full of admiration to the black plate spinning continuously showing a high technology at the time, echoing a gentle and authoritative voice of Matt

" MATT MONRO- IF I NEVER SING ANOTHER SONG"
In my heyday
Young girls wrote to me
Everybody seemed to have time to devote to me
Everyone I saw all swore they knew me
Once upon a song
Main attraction, couldn't buy a seat
The celebrity celebrities would die to meet
I've had every accolade bestowed on me
And so you see
If I never sing another song
It shouldn't bother me
I've had my share of fame
You know my name
If I never sing another song
Or take another bow
I should get by, but I'm not sure how
Always posing, but you love it all
Though you have to learn to act like you're above it all
Everything I did the world applauded
Once upon a star
Framed citations hang on every wall
Got a scrapbook full of quotes I can't recall at all
There were times I felt the world belonged to me
And so you see
If I never sing another song
It shouldn't bother me
I've had my share of fame
You know my name
If I never sing another song
Or take another bow
I should get by, but I'm not sure how
But I'm not sure how
But I'm not sure how
Thanks!

I'm glad to listen to most of his songs on repeat.
josefina rebacca i love you josefina rebacca where are you now my love
josefina rebacca Thank you
Matt Monro truly had a golden voice, could sing ANYTHING and make it sound great. Finest male singer, ever.

I love old love songs especially from the late 50’s. Very soothing my the ear. Very meaningful.
No wonder Matt Monro loved this song so much and performed it so will, it was written specially for him by his lifelong friend the great Don Black. Two equally gifted men who rose from humble beginnings to worldwide fame. We won't ever see their likes again!
I'm getting old ,but this guy makes me feel young every time I play my very big collection of his music !!
