  • How should cities design transportation policies like tolls and public transit? In this video, Chicago Booth's Milena Almagro quantifies the impact of different transportation policies and applies her approach to the City of Chicago. Among her results, Almagro shows that charging drivers to use roads would reduce traffic and pollution, but increase costs for consumers who travel by car. Almagro also makes suggestions for public transit policies to offset these costs.
BFI’s Student Lunch Series invites prominent speakers to engage undergraduate and graduate students in discussions on economics. The talks highlight the practical use of economics for answering real-world questions pertinent to businesses and policy makers.
