I can't decide who I like better: Joyce as a singer, or Joyce as a teacher.
This woman is an incredible teacher of interpretation. She is so humble about stating she is NOT a voice teacher yet her simple explanations of her technique, when required in the various Master Classes, is clearer than many teachers, famous published vocal pedagogues and vocal coaches that I have studied or worked with over the years. A real communicator and a REAL PEACH!
I love how all of her instructions are based on the characterization of the role. Almost like an acting-class-like emphasis given to it.
That young singer is so beautiful to watch. So much passion.
I love Joyce Didonato, she is so great as a teacher and also as a singer !
7:02 "I'M JUST VOCALIZING~!" HA~! lol. She's so fun ^_^
Daaamnnn... Ms. Didonato teaches REALLY well! o_O
I'm not an opera guy. I am an aspiring singer. This woman (DiDonato) has me absolutely rivetted. This is about the 10th video in a row I've watched. WHAT a great teacher. Her comments in each instance have been right on the money and achieved a superior result from what the student started with. How inspiring she is. I hadn't heard of her until today when I stumbled across one of her master classes. She's an extremely amazing teacher. I hope she is still doing this kind of thing.
Joyce is such a good teacher
They are both so adorable!
I love how I can learn from these videos :,)
Oh my god I love her sooo much!!
There is a nice middle and low with Maria.
Great singer. :)
my GOD! Joyce is so wise!
Amazing!!!
Wow, joyce is an amazing teacher. She knows what acting is. Brava!
Fiselier did quite well. Christa Ludwig did a master class with her too, and Fiselier handled Mahler well.
nah, people like exciting opera, which is one of the reasons Joyce is a big star. And this video lays out nicely why she's the best Rosina :)
That was a great masterclass!
This mezzo has great potential, the voice isnt there yet but she's smart and full of ideas, i hope she blossoms even further. More lessons with DiDonato and boom, she's excelent and nothing better than how she makes them comfortable, i had masterclass and some can be terrifying, you have an audience and a famous singer, you might end up learning very little
💝💝💝💝👏👏👏👏👏🔥
For Maria coloratura tres diffisile
singing this area should be really hard
I like di donato to Mach bad this women no colatura mezzo
I think she's tame.
you do it then!
I'm a countertenor and Oh Joyce opera-goers LOVE so much generic ópera. Actually they disdain any kind of updating to the generic ópera. This people don't care about the plot or the state of mind of the characte, they want to see costumes, wigs and to applaud when an aria is over. It's very frustrating as a singer cause it seems that you can't/shouldn't try search deeply in your character or in the plot cause people is not interested.
I wish this was true (about the people) But at least in my country they are still very narrow minded.
Which country is that? It certainly isn't true for Europe, and I do not think it is true for the USA or Canada either. What people don't like, is when the staging sacrifices the story, music, mood, emotions or characters for the sake of eye candy, and that is true whether it is a modern or an old fashioned take
With all due respect, Joyce, where did you get your outfit??! I adore you as a singer, BUT you need a gay man to advise on your wardrobe. And those shoes?? Really??
Your comment is disrespectful, sexist, and cringe-inducing.
Ole Nielson ......hahaha...yes she has a dreadful taste in clothing
Well shucks, I always liked how she dressed...and she seems like a really lovely person to boot.
