- BY SPECIAL REQUEST! Here's How To Place Text Behind An Image In Photoshop. This was requested because I use this technique a lot in my thumbnails on CZcams. Let me know if you have any other topics you'd like me to cover!
Also, I am, by no means, a photoshop expert... but I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I think are useful for people and someone specifically asked for this video.

Hey Dunna, this is great! I definitely learned some things. The way I have always approached doing this was to select the object (you) and then copy it on a new layer that is in the foreground. So there would be 3 layers total. Bottom - backgroung (original image), Middle - Text, and Top - Object. This way you can still move the text around and not affect anything else. Thanks!
DUDE THANK YOU SO MUCH I FINALLY DID IT! I have a project for school and I kept trying other tutorials but I didn't quite get it, and it got frustrating. However, you actually were so helpful and I really appreciate it!
Awesome time saving tutorial! I’ve always used the mask route and never knew about the select subject. Thanks Dunna!
Glad to hear this will help you out!
Fantastic video! Thank you so much for the awesome info ❤

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! I learned a slightly different way using Selections, but I think this is quicker.

Thanks for watching!!
Hey Dunna. Very nice tutorial. Your way seems a little bit easier than the way I have been doing it. Thank you.
Thanks for watching Brian!
Using PS 2021, and Subject Selection has improved quite a bit FYI. Soooooo much easier to get a selection started, especially if there is decent contrast between the subject and the background. Thanks for the video! :-)
Agreed! This takes me like 1/8 the time now! Cheers Chuck!
Thanks for the info!!!
Very well done thanks for the great info! I use Affinity Photo for my thumbnails I will figure out how to do something similar using the principles you have outlined. Cheers.
Should be pretty similar I think! Have fun!
AWESOME !!!
Love it!

Thank u! been asking youtubers who create tribute videos of series and movies and they use text behind a photo..but now i understand that they probably just use photoshop lol
Dunna teaches me everything I know 😭❤️ I've always wanted to be a photographer and a photo editor and I started from subscribing to your channel. It didn't take much time before I made my first 3k dollars 🙏. Much love from Nelson 🇳🇬 Dunna and thanks for tip on how to text behind images 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
THANK U SO MUCH
Thank youuuuu
Now, this is a useful video. Thanks bro.
Thanks for watching!!
Dang I have been doing this the hard way! Just been using the eraser on the text once I have it where I want to go. That Subject select seems awesome. I also always forget about content aware feature. I am such a photoshop newb. Cool tutorial.
I hear you dude, I'm sure there are still a ton of things I'm doing the hard way without knowing it. We're all learning, one day at a time!
Thanks, this works in Photopea too :)
Nice Job❤✔✔
Awesome tutorial as always bro.
Thanks dude
Man I had no idea it was that easy. I really need to get better at Lr and Ps. Thx Dunna.
Yeah it's not bad! Like I said, the "select subject" isn't always perfect but it helps a lot!
Best video ever! thank you so much mate, happy 2024
help to get the basics and I'll jus move from there. Thank you!
This was a helpful Photoshop tutorial.
Glad to hear that!
ITS LOOK PRETTY EASY BUT IT IS QUITE TOUGH JUST TRIED THIS EFFECT
BTW THANKS DUNNA!!!!
It takes a little practice for sure and every picture is different. But keep at it and it will get easier!
thank you
Jus what I was looking for!!! Thank you! Ps makes my head hurt.
Me too! I only have a few tricks I use and then I get the heck out!
awesome channel! very helpful
Thanks a ton!
Ok cool to see new perspectives other options 🙌
Glad to hear it! How do you do it?
Dunna Did It I masked it on my own (the subject) duplicated layers and put in my text layer lol haha
Pls I need you to help me with this question? How can I reviewed text covering up with biro or ink to know what is written in background
Like ur intro . Great video 👍👍
Thanks dude! Appreciate it as always!
Oh thnks for sharing brother 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for watching dude!
thanks
Another great video, thanks Dunna! #edmontonstrong
Thanks for watching!
I can’t drag content / sample into my playlist on Mac? Anyone know how to fix
Mr. Duuna! GREAT video...Quick question...a while back you did a video on improving audio...you used a Zoom recorder...but since, in your Gear List, you are now using a Roland recorder....have you switched? is the Roland Superior?
Not necessarily! I like the form factor of the Roland more for tossing in my backpack. But I also have the zoom h4n because it has xlr inputs and that’s super handy!
so interesting watching your editing process! I personally use Canva 😁 there's a feature that let's you erase the background so I just layer to pictures over each other and sandwich the text in between haha
That's awesome! I used to do it similarly by cutting out the subject and pasting it to the top layer on top of the text and background layers. It's actually a similar process to the way I do it now, just whether you'e masking the text or the subject lol.
Heya, can someone help me with a persistant issue i'm having?
Whenever I follow the exact route and press mask on the text, the text OUTSIDE the subject gets removed instead of the text overlapping inside the subject.
I checked and the mask slowed my object being white and background being black, is there any way I can solve this?
How can I do it on phone?
dunna, please what L bracket for your a6600 are you using, it seem's like it fit perfectly!
I believe its one by UURIG. You can find it in my kit.co/dunnadidit
😍😍😍
🙏 🙏 🙏
bro where can i dm u please i need help
*DOPEEEEEE*
🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥
Thanks dude!
just a quick question, does it work well with if there's a lot of hair going on in the picture ? 😂
Hair is definitely the toughest part. Once you've got your selection, if you select the marquee or lasso tool, you can click "Select and Mask" at the top and it will give you some extra tools to refine the selection.

WOO WOOOOOOO!!!!

Actually i never expect you do such silli tutorial but now u have motivated me to make more basic level video /editing tip.. thanks mate💓
I often forget to make the basic videos and yet they seem to make the biggest difference. So many people are just starting out and need these kinds of videos!
Indeed thanks 😊
It didn't work
Where's the beard?
It comes and goes lol. Its mostly a matter of laziness when I have it haha.
Still waiting for you to message me so I can help you with grading your Slog 🙃...
