Damn shame you didn't include tears of the light from bbs. Genuinely the saddest track in all of Kingdom hearts IMO.
Listening to this brings back so many memories. My dad was obsessed with this game. He played it all the time and got me into it. He recently passed in October and I had dearly beloved playing when people came into the church for his funeral. It brings back so many good memories of me and my dad. Just slaving away at the game we both loved so much. I immediately started crying at the first song. Just how beautiful it is… I miss you dad…

KH 2.5 Roxas Theme made me so painful because of the flute is so sad... and make me think of Roxas.. he is just a kid, wants to play with his friends, Summer Vacation, and eating sea-salt ice-cream during the dusk....

A 19-year old college student remembers back to when she was 7-years old and trying out this weird game with a kid, a duck, and a dog on the disc before shrugging and shoving it in her old and beaten up PS2. How that god damn game just grabbed her arm and tugged her forward across the field, handing her off to other games as she had to keep running to keep up. Even as she grew older, and the running became easier to manage with each step, she never really stopped. She'd slow down at times, come to a walking pace or even turn away entirely. Time seemed to slip through her fingers, as did any other material thing she once held dear to her. All of it, fading away as she got taller and her hair got longer and her smile started to vanish. Where the weight of her life started to grow stronger and stronger on her aching shoulders until she was sitting on the floor and wondering when it would become too much to bear.
She felt a shadow cast over her, but it wasn't threatening. And when she looked up, she saw that same, stupid game about a boy and his friends, holding out a hand and pulling her to her feet once again.

I was 19 when I heard about Kingdom Hearts for the first time. Kingdom Hearts II had just been released and my nephew was playing it on his PS2, and I couldn't take my eyes off the TV. Since then I bought the entire collection and played all of the games multiple times. I'm 35 today and I still get get excited every time I talk about this game series. A true masterpiece!
This Playlist literally saved my life. My summer vacation was finally over... I feel you Roxas, maybe I was a nobody. Things are looking up now, but back then, not so much..

That's just how it is in reality, what we appreciate today might be all but forgotten in the future, in a few hundred years (if humanity lasts that long) we might be considered similar to one of those ancient civilisations that we think of right now.
The most KH statement ever
Me and my brother grew up with Kingdom Hearts saga, we were 8 and 4 when we first saw on our little tv, Sora and Riku challenging each other around Destiny Island. We didn't understand much of the game since it was in English but we were just in love with it. We grew up together but eventually, we developed different tastes that put us apart. The years passed and the story of the game went on and so did our lives but our love for this game always kept a common ground for us to agree with. We also come from a tiny place on an island and we also had to leave our home to seek a better future. After a very long time, I and my brother had finally the chance to be reunited in a place we could call home again. Even if distance and time kept us apart our connection and love for each other never disappeared. After a beautiful year of living the best life back together, a month ago, one early morning he suddenly died because of a terrible illness at the age of 23.
A few days before he left, we were still listening to KH songs together and now I like to think He is out there somewhere exploring beautiful worlds while I am here left to fight the darkness that keeps trying to wrap around my heart. Maybe one day we will meet again but until that moment I will have to keep going on for both of us.

I am 25 now, and I still love it, those melodies will stay in my heart forever.
Yeah these Melodies have a sense of nostalgia I’ve never experienced before… I’m 23 and I started playing when I was 7, on my gameboy lol. For some reason, the twilight town song will always hold a special place in my heart. Maybe it was the peace the city exemplified that I wanted to live vicariously through roxas and sora lol… who knows
