Alexey, thanks! That's awesome. I've checked some dance videos lately and discovered that different people are doing lock step in a different way. Thinking is it right, is it wrong, why they are doing that way and these are doing another way) this is the answer - there are several lock step options. Thaaanks
I also know that there is a Continuous Lock Step for the follower after you do the Hockey Stick - overturning the Follower into a Overturned Hockey Stick on "4 and 1", then back to Open facing on "2 and 3", and then back to Overturned Position (or RSP) on "4 and 1 and 2 and 3", and so forth. Another Lock Step that is Continuous in Cha-Cha comes in the Regressive and Progressive 3 Cha-Cha-Chas which is used as an Advanced Variation if one does the lock step, with the timing - 4 and 1 (hold 2) and 3 and 4 and 1, 2 3, 4 and 1 (hold 2) and 3 and 4 and 1, 2 3. You do the "Cuban breaks" on the 2 3 between each lock step series. The "hold 2", Alexey, as you know already, is this so-famously-called "guapacha timing". I love guapacha timing myself too! It puts some more joy and competitive excitement in my International cha-cha dancing!!! I also studied the old ISTD books and found another lock step that is continuous in cha-cha, called the Merengue Cross. The old books call it the "Travelling Merengue Cross" or "Travelling Merengue Crosses". Fortunately, I was schooled in merengue because I used to be merengue-clubbing in the late 1990s, so I think of this "merengue cross" as you are doing a merengue action while lock-stepping in cha-cha. I know what merengue is - the dance. From the Dominican Republic. Sadly, merengue is mainly a club dance - but there are merengue competitions that are still done, but not the scope as what it is in cha-cha. Cha-cha is still the heavily-loved competitive dance - more than even the merengue!
Yet another great tutorial from you. Thank you.
