Listening to these hits again after so many years, it makes me realize how LITTLE he actually shreds. He spends so much time building the chord progressions, outlining the themes, building tension, and he keeps coming back to them. What a consummate artist.
I'm proud to say I have the original cd with the alien on the cover & saw him live listen to a song called all my friends are here for you progression loved this guy since he first hit the seen & he's going out with Sammy & the circle as a tribute to Eddie who else could do it maybe Nuno but I'll take Joe Satch
Totally. Joe creates and plays musical art of the highest level His songs are created to convey emotions and ideas in a very particular way. The number of notes and difficulty of the passages have no bearing on why Joe includes them in his artistic sonic arrangements
This guy is an absolute beast, we love what he plays and how he plays.. but he loves it even more, it looks so easy and smooth..... To note he's 67 years old showing he is the 7 stars General of the music.
I was just listening to this album yesterday and man, what a scorcher of a tune! Not only that, but his subtle use of the wah pedal is outstanding. He reslly gets more out of it by using it so minimally.
Joe is the best of all the instrumental players. His songs and melodies stick with you forever. His shredding is also melodically strong and memorable. There are lots of great players out there but none do it like Joe.
If he can still play this well at 67 there is hope for all of us, myself included. Granted so few of us will ever make it as an instrumentalist I can impress my friends lol.
Thank You so much for posting this Stephen.. a Legendary show for sure in the most unbelievably intimate of "Venues". I can only hope that Joe may do a Official video (DVD / Blu Ray) for this at some point.. maybe as a Bonus Disc for a release or as a stand alone Release. Amazing 🤘😎🤘
I’m such a fender Jazzmaster freak, but my affinity for Joe’s excellent taste in taking postmodern replicative media production and using it in a similar way that Lichtenstein did by using techniques that were designed for mass production for one of a kind renditions makes my experience and upper education in contemporary art super appreciative. but I’ve always had a spot for Ibanez after seeing a pair of 1980s Roadstars in blue and red - first electric guitars I ever saw in person. I was hooked from that day onward at around 8-10 yo. Loving all of the renditions and finishes I’ve seen so far. My own visual arts would translate very well to guitars - just wish I had the $ to do it.
Que bonita musica has creado Joe! Enorme!!!
It’s been years since I’ve listened to Surfing w/the Aliens album. Soon as Joe switched over I knew it immediately. One of my faves and got me hooked on Joe Satch.
Circles was the beginning of the contemplative aspects of Surfing With The Alien's B side. Preceded by the barbarian opera of Hill Of The Skull, and leading into the eastern psychedelia of Lords Of Karma, Circles reveals hidden truths of Satriani; Less is more, but more is still more.
Sweet! I've been a HUGE fan since the mid-'80s and have seen TONS of his and G3 shows when I lived in Cleveland, then traveled from Cleveland to Toronto to see a G3 show in Massey Hall ('02 I think) where I saw/heard John Petrucci play for the first time...and then became a huge Dream Theater/Petrucci/Rudess fan. I then moved back to CO and saw all the other shows and G3 shows until I moved again in '18. In '19 I met Joe at an art gallery in Hollyweird when I bought some of his artwork thru Scene Four. REALLY cool guy, way humble and down to earth, even got a couple pics with him. Glad I finally got to meet him after so many years and I thanked him for turning me on to Petrucci and mentioned the show. He was surprised and really moved that I'd traveled to see him from one end of the US to the other and seen that show in Toronto. It was a really cool chat. Later I sent him a fan letter thru the art dealer (Cory - really cool guy) and Joe signed the Massey Hall ticket stub and 2 others because he really liked my letter. Just an all around cool guy, hopefully I'll meet him again. I saw Scene Four has another new piece of his artwork, so, if he's actually going to do a song or 2 like this in the gallery, I might be pursuaded to visit the (typical) blue "D" shithole of LA to see him again. Or maybe I'll get lucky and be able to see him at a place that's NOT a blue "D" shithole.
I'd much prefer to see Joe in this setting with backing track vs a live setting. The vantage would be amazing and he wouldn't be distracted by everything going on live. Thanks for these vids!

Well said, yup he a master
After so many years of shredding, he´s still the man. So much passion and joy in his eyes. Lots of respect for Joe
I still have his CD (surfing with the Aliens) from the 80's. One of the best out there!!!
my first cd❤
Probably THE best
I like this sound! Reminds me of the early 90's.
Well, the song came out in 87, so...
This is one of my favorite songs on the Surfing album. Super creative and original, pure Satriani gold! Thank you!
No singing, it's not a song.
Such an awesome track, too bad bout the tay tay fans in the comments….. keep ripping
Great piece of music. One of his most underrated (though not as much as the stupendous ‘Echo’ from the same album of course).
Oh the memories....absolute classic album.
Joe never disappoints, his music paints images in the sky
This guy is an absolute beast, we love what he plays and how he plays.. but he loves it even more, it looks so easy and smooth.....
To note he's 67 years old showing he is the 7 stars General of the music.
Wow, 67! That's wild. But yeah he's still got it doesn't he? Totally awe inspiring.
67! Wtf
One of my favourites Satch's songs!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!! 👊😃🎸🇧🇷
Probably my favorite Satriani tune ever, and he plays it just like he wrote it yesterday.
Cool you know Steve Hackett😊 on youtube🎉🎉🎉
I was just listening to this album yesterday and man, what a scorcher of a tune! Not only that, but his subtle use of the wah pedal is outstanding. He reslly gets more out of it by using it so minimally.
One the best songs from Joe. An extension from not of this earth.
I don't know why, but is probably the most beautiful Joe's guitar that I ever seen...
How so?
It's definitely up there. He does create great obscure art for his guitars.
INcredible!!✨🌊🌊🦾
have to say , surfin with an alien and flying in a blue dream are my favourate satriani lps, circles great track
DS-1. That's what he always steps on. Awesome.
Amazing Satriani, I love the song, the easy way he plays every part and use the pedals! Thanks for the video!
Song? Where's the singing?
Joe is the best of all the instrumental players. His songs and melodies stick with you forever. His shredding is also melodically strong and memorable. There are lots of great players out there but none do it like Joe.
100% agree....
Joe is still the best.. That Marshall combo sounds incredible
Timeless pieces, every album. 🔥
Joe Satriani is incredible and puts on such a great show! I’ve seen him probably 8 times and the first was in London in 1992. Absolutely awesome!
Been listening to this master his entire pro career. Never gets old.
Omg! I would love to see Mr Joe live!!!
Flying In A Blue Dream is it for me.
Reminds me of the good old days when I first heard this back in ‘88. Magical tune.
I was a teenager when I first heard this. Now in my 50s and it's still my favourite song from Surfing
impeccable performance
one of the GREATS!
Joe is the man. I've listened to him play for 30 years and he's still kicking ass.
If he can still play this well at 67 there is hope for all of us, myself included. Granted so few of us will ever make it as an instrumentalist I can impress my friends lol.
Thanks for uploading all these tracks. Whoever you are. Enjoyed them so much.
Awesome tone!
Doesn't get any better man!!!

Awesome tune!! Well done Joe!!
This song is one of the most difficult to play. The ending of this song on his album is insane also. Satch is a Genius!
This guy's amazing 👏 ❤
Saw him live around 1988
What a tune. Always loved to blast it.
Rock On Stephen Rock On You Are Awesome 😎😎😎😎😎!
Damn Joe, you just keep getting better and better! I wish you would come to Connecticut!!
I like that guitar the colors bery nice guitar
Like others have already said… one of my favorite songs he does. It’s both parts beautiful melodies and face-melting solos. Such a jam!
Thanks for sharing 🤘

He sure is! One of the greats!
Ahh, the Circles....my absolute favorite.
The greatest body of work by any electric guitarist. Every 18 months for 40 years a new record.
And it's all listenable, all with Joe's style and class!
Being a professional acoustic drummer for many moons this is my favorite Joe Satriani song.😊
Dude you are a guitar God! Wrote my dissertation back in the '90s listening to surfing with the alien, thank you! ❤❤
This was the first Satch jam I got into and learned to play, even performed at high school. Short solo, but straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of my favorite ❤️
Dang... that's sweet to hear that!!!

That little JVM 215c sounds great. Like to hear it without pedals.
Excellent
Pure awesome
LENDA SATRIANI 🇧🇷
My guitar MASTER!!❤❤
Dam that was good man.
🤘🏼All The Way🤘🏼
Awesome live show
He's the man
Semoga pak Joe selalu sehat dan panjang umur
It’s been years since I’ve listened to Surfing w/the Aliens album. Soon as Joe switched over I knew it immediately. One of my faves and got me hooked on Joe Satch.
Wha wha é viciante
Thanks for the videos. Greetings from Brazil
The touch, the feel of Satch. The fabric of our lives.
Hell yeahhhhhhhh. I love it.
Monstro !!!!
Love you Joe!!!
So nice 🤟
When I was in high school I bought an Ibanez because Joe Satriani played Ibanez. Amazing to this day. Legendary guitarist. Master.
One of my favourite.👌
Glorious...

Awesome!
I love this tune. I’ve been a Satch fan since Surfing with the Alien was released
❤
one of the best air guitar tracks of all time
Which guitar do you use? Ibanez, Fender, Gibson?
@@FriesinNF depends on how I'm feelin. generally a strat if I'm wanting tone.
Nice sounds..
What a guitar player !!...Satriani live with surfing with the Aliens 💪💪🎸
