I thought the same about the Asics but... once I got used to them/broke them in, they were amazing for that little extra support the week after my last 50k.
Neutral vs Stability build style is the difference; even though some are placing shift 2 in neutral category but I leaned toward stability, tough call on it
I think you should include some notes on how suitable the shoes are for midfoot vs heel strike. I have a 10mm GT1000 and when I transitioned to midfoot, that heel got in the way a lot. On the other hand I have Reebok RFP and RFP Londons and they cannot be used for heel strikes due to lack of cushioning.
I don't get the weight scoring. If I'm correct, yesterday the Shift 2's weight was 9.6 and got a 7.5. Today it is 9.2 and it gets a 6...? Both stability.
Kayano was always the top of the line shoe for Asics I always found it overly expensive I wish they brought back the DS trainer that was my go to shoe for training.
Just my opinion... but the Kayano is all that is really needed for an Asics support shoe. Soft pillow ride and built much better! The lite is just a shoe to fill the store shelf!
Would love to hear Seths view on the Kayano 29. I'm flat-footed so I need the support and I find them fantastic. I think the Tempus support not enough for fully flat-footed runners.
With so many stability shoes being relegated, it may be time not just to adjust the full review milage but to create a separate scoring system as well. Just a thought. Stability shoes probably need a longer break in period.
Who out there is doing a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving? I'm doing the 5 mile route in Green Bay Wisconsin. A fun time to run with friends! Happy Running!!!
My daughter, her friend and I are doing our first Turkey Trot this Thanksgiving. A new tradition, hopefully! Back in time to get the pies in the oven, ha!
Qd. Running is my little thing each day. Lol. BTW, have you done a review of the new Brooks Launch stability shoe? It's hard to find a stability tempo day or speedwork shoe.
I'm a little curious what goes into the weight score for some shoes, but maybe this will have to wait until you have time for the scoring system breakdown you've mentioned before. I believe yesterday's review of the shift had a 9oz stability shoe scoring a 7.5, while today's review had a 9oz stability shoe scoring a 6.0. Does one shoe feel heavier than the other even though they weigh the same?
QD ... Sitting outside in the sun with my wife and playing with our dog, after an afternoon run. Clears the mind and makes everything better
The sun? Which state are you in? In new jersey it’s dark and cold 😢
@@cyprinkanneh probably south east US. I dont think its got colder than 45 in Ga this year
Nice. Keep up the running. Seths channel is refreshing and inspirational. Enjoy your warm days ha.
COMMENT OF THE DAY!!!
@@cyprinkanneh haha I'm in Australia! Slowly starting to warm up here now

MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY
QOD: words of affirmation lift my spirit. I know not everyone else is a “words” person but I try then to recognize and affirm those around me.
Excellent!
Why Saucony Edrorphin Shif 2 gets 7.5 points for 9.6 oz. and Asics 6 points for 9.2 oz. in your size?
Didn't see your message and I posted exactly the same. 😂

So if both considered stability shoes, it makes no sense the way shoes are graded 😅
QD: my wife and I got a new plush carpet for our apartment, now I love stretching and rolling out in the morning. So soft and comfy on the floor 😊
For me is when I’m able to be with my friends during our walks/hikes at different spots here in the island and soak up the Beautiful scenery.

Qd: with my wife and I now both working from home, I always cherish having lunch together each day

. My 4 and 6 year old boys are the “small things” that make my day better (usually 😂)!
QD: Motion activated lights! So nice to walk into a dark garage or entryway and have the light come on automatically!
Heated car seats on a cold morning like today.

Not having to scrape car windows in the morning. Brrrrr!
Night sleep makes my day and life better but sometimes sleeping at night doesn't come often enough .
Seth, do you ever worry that running in a stability shoe, when you don't have a need for it could cause injury or discomfort?
Flavored coffee creamer hazelnut everyday everyday!
Finally running shoe reviews 🔥
That shoe makes me feel a bit like my ankle wants to roll outward.
QD: Coffee!!! Today was tough because I ran out of coffee :(
The Prism v2 is a good shoe for halfs. Done 2 in them.

Does the heel area press on the Achilles‘ tendon?
Asking because I got medical issues in that area (FQAD).
QD: Oatmeal with raisins, walnuts, sliced almonds, frozen blueberries and a little bit a honey! And non-fat milk! 😎😊😍
What is the lowest ever score a shoe got?
QD: a small run like a 10k ;)
Sun
QD: Love messages from my wife 😀 ❤️
QoD: Everyday run with my lady.
