- "HOW IS IT POSSIBLE???" they ask.
Well, when you marry Sara, pretty much anything is possible.
I love you, Sara.

sara superwoman confirmed
Rowboat I bet she literally has superpowers... it’s always the least you suspect.
She assertively shops, she plans, she sews, she bakes, she designs bouquets, she looks like a bridal model. Good gracious.
She's like the perfect bride Jordan is so lucky
Well, the Bible does say that of a Proverbs 31 woman, so good for her.😄
Excuse me, making a dress out of three mass-produced dresses is even more difficult than just cutting it from scratch. Sara is such a boss 😎
We forgot to add in the video that Sara did her own hair and makeup as well! Thanks for watching everyone :)
For a future video you should look for the fish VHS tape that you've talked about a couple times.
😮 makeup yes!, but hair is hard , thats impressive
Did you do your own hair and makeup, Jordan? Lol
Sara is impressive!!
@@ev_green_ right, I could never do my own hair that well
point of the video: learn how to do everything yourself, or find friends that can do it for free, so you don't have to pay
it an easy gift. someone cooked our meal for us as our gift. (we paid for the food)
Moral of the story: Pay however much you want for your wedding, but whatever you do, don't invite Aunt Jose...
Facts 😂
😂😂😂
YESSS this is the comment I was waiting for
Aunt Jose. LOL
These are the comments I expect to see when I look at comments
Good job Thanks
To make a long story short, Sara is a magician.
When you’re watching this and your spouse still doesn’t know who you are
Or dO they
@@victorialester1634 😂
🥺😂
I sense a new Messyge incoming.....
Yo Sara should do weddings for people. She knows what the heck she's doing!
What married people do: kiss
What homeschooled married people do: eat the same cotton candy while making eye contact
lol yes
They have a picture with them kissing
This makes no sense. As someone who was homeschooled.
Hahaha!
Who’s watching while being single, and VERY far away from marriage? 😂🙋🏽♀️
Edit: ps I was the 100th like and I’m so proud 😪
I am watching and I'm 15 years old... and not even dating anyone! xD
Also, I'm the 672nd like on the video! LOL
@@JohnCarter-nw4tg same dude
Yup
same 883rd like
I’m 16 and don’t plan on dating until like, the end of college so... yep I’m here!😂
The answer to this? It's in Tennessee. A wedding venue in California, no matter how crappy, would NEVER be as cheap as $1200.
Cheap venues in California include women's clubs, rec centers, county parks, community association buildings, and some churches, a lot can be under $1000 :)
Just want to answer Jordan's question, "$20,000, is that how much wedding dresses are?"
On average, no. $20,000 is on the higher, (much higher) end. On average, wedding dresses are between $500 and $5,000. It is still a lot, but not as high as $20,000.
Sara said it was a designer dress
You can get them on sale at David's bridal for $99!
I got mine for like 50 bucks on ebay. XD
Unfortunately, I don't have Sara's sewing skills. At best, I can hand-stitch a hole in a shirt or whatever - and it is barely passable. If I had her skills, I would absolutely custom make my own dress. I imagine Sara had spent years to hone her craft. I think even if I spent a year to learn to sew more, I would still end up getting frustrated because the dress wouldn't come out like I would want it to - so I'd end up buying a wedding dress anyways. Lol!
That being said, I do have decent graphic design skills, so I will be creating my own wedding stationary. I'm excited to be able to add that personal touch to my wedding should I get married.
hayley paige dresses are around 3ish k and up eeek
Thank you for a reminder that it can be done! Getting married in 10 weeks with a 4k budget
Also, that potted plant idea is freaking GENIUS.
I ABSOLUTELY love this two. No hype. No drama. No pranks or other bullshit. Just two beautiful, sincere, flawed people.
I love all of Sara’s DIY decorations and cakes and floral arrangements, and now I want to see her crafting in action. 😂 Jordan vs Sara crafting competition?
Your wedding was so beautiful! I would not have guessed that Sara's dress was homemade, either. She did a great job!
S: "Don't worry, it's still a bridal color."
J: "WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?"
:-D
Love this! I also have a hard time believing people spend as much money as they do on weddings😶
My wedding didn't cost much either.
Venue: Free! Our neighbors owned a christmas tree farm and let us use the barn
Dress: Paid $15 at a thrift store and had it altered for $35= $50
Food: my mom cooked everything! Basically a chicken dinner with a fall twist since we got married in autumn. I wanted to pay my parents for all the food they bought (we didn't invite a ton of people but the food was the most expensive part of our wedding) but they wouldn't tell me how much it had cost.
Photographer: Free! My aunt took all our photos
Hair and make up: also free. My best friend went to cosmetology school so she volunteered to do it, gratis
Cake: My then fiance made 3 cheesecakes, because he makes the best cheesecake in the word. Those were approx $35 per cake, so a little over $100 for those
I bought a few random decorations for the barn, like a garland for the center pole and some tablecloths but I don't it amounted to more than $50.
I skipped some stuff for my wedding that people normally have like bridesmaids and sound. I didn't have any music for the ceremony and just made a cd of my favorite songs to play during the reception afterwards.
We dated for a couple months then got engaged and then married 4 months later. We'll be married for 6 years come October.
Edited to say I forgot about flowers! My sister grew a lovely patch of fall colored zinnias and I made my bouquet out of them the morning of the wedding. A pack of zinnia seeds is cheap! Less than a buck
Wow that was very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
We spent over $50k on our wedding... it does happen.
@@courtneysokal6590 I don't think they were saying it is bad if people do it is just very expensive. Me personally, I couldn't justify spending that much but if you have the means go ahead.
OH MY GOODNESS LOOK AT THE DESCRIPTION
That's so cute 😭😭
that’s literally adorable 🥺
Love it! Inexpensive weddings statistically last longer :)
My husband and I got married at a chapel in Helen, GA for around $3000. And our engagement was 9 months. I agree with not having a long engagement...
Helen is a beautiful place! I'm sure it was gorgeous! And I agree about not having a long engagement.. I think drawing it out for too long can steal some of the joy away and just be hard in general, especially for Christian couples who are trying to stay pure until marriage!
This reminds me a lot of my wedding! My husband and I just celebrated 21 years of marriage. When we git married we had $2000 and ended up only spending $1600. So many friends and family helped us plan and organize it and it was perfect! My dress was $42.02 at an outlet store, the cake was gifted to us, the large backyard for our reception was free (people jumped on the large trampoline and played football), the tux rentals and church fee were the most expensive things! The flowers only cost $75. I got so many compliments, it was a great day.
Back in the 80's my mom worked in a bridal shop. She got her wedding dress on sale plus her employee discount. 😊👰🏼
Anybody else now DYING to see Sara do more cake decorating??! I lovelovelove cake decorating and always wished I got into it. That's amazing!
Also Jordan's description for this video 😭😭😭
it's honestly really refreshing seeing a wedding that's like $3000 instead of like $30000 haha and Sara was sooo creative too! Like making wedding favors that are also decorations? brilliant!!
Only just started the video and I'm like what sorcery is this? After watching your wedding video I'm like the beautiful wedding was $3,000? In the UK, where I live, the average wedding is reportedly £17,000!!!
Oh it’s the same here, people say the average wedding is like $30,000. But I have no idea how they came up with that number, Ive always suspected their stats are from wedding planners, which of course their numbers will range a little higher than the diy weddings I’ve always been more familiar with
I'm also from the UK & married and can confirm that a venue under 3k is often some kind of soical club or village hall! Weddings are expensiveeeee
Exayevie weddings in cities are expensive and that’s factored into an average
@@LetsWatchTheSunset From helping out with friends' weddings, I've found that here (in the UK at least), the minute you mention it's a wedding the price shoots up. It's much less for, say, a family gathering.
The average in America is still over $10,000, mine is going to be as cheap (relatively) as possible, but because I live in an expensive area, I’m betting it’ll still be over $10,000
this is so weird because I have the same wedding budget... THIS WAS SO HELPFUL THANK U
Wow! I can’t believe how timely this is. I’m planning a wedding for September and with a similar budget. I appreciated hearing how you did what you really thought was right for you both and didn’t try to make something huge for appearance sake. That is so right. Thanks so much for sharing! Always enjoy you guys!
Thank you so much! 🙂
7:26 "Cotton candy machine maker"? You have a machine that makes cotton candy machines?
What I would really like to know is how being responsible for preparation influenced the way you felt on the day. Especially Sara, seeing how she seems to have done 99% of everything lol Were you not too tired to enjoy the day, gurl?? I don't even mean being pampered, just normal amount of human resources... How about you family - I'm guessing your Dad did a photoshoot rather than stayed on duty all night, but did you get any photos of the party? Usually DJing is also a job for the whole time of dancing, did Josh not dance at all or did you take a more relaxed approach and used, like, playlists and stuff? I guess I might be thinking more in terms of how these things are done as a profession, certainly it has to be more relaxed this home-made way. But I'm still curious.
Ah, also, you didn't mention Jordan's suit, I'm guessing he already had one?
It seems such an amazing way to organise things. Completely personal and unique, and tbh it seems like it could in many ways be less stressful, even though the workload is incomparably bigger. If I ever marry, God willing, I would like it to be like that. But as you said, it's not gonna work out quite as beautifully for everyone.
How did Sara's dad walk her down the aisle while being the photographer?
As a photographer I wonder this too! I love my job but if it was my kids wedding I definitely would want to just enjoy the wedding!
David Tierney if he’s a photographer (professional) I’m sure he may have other people who work for or help him? So maybe they took some of the shots that he was actually in?? :)
My brother would tell me exactly what to do and when to do it when I helped at weddings. I'm sure there was a cousin or someone that took his place for that moment.
Wow!! Sara's so creative!!❤😆 This video really inspired me to be artsy!😁 I love how this is turning into more of a "Jordan and Sara Taylor" channel, rather than just Jordan. Love you guys!❤❤❤
I was super proud for spending under $8,000 total for my wedding, and we had plenty of connections that helped us out... But this is insane! And awesome! As I'm sure you've figured out, while the wedding is an awesome day, it's by far not the best thing about marriage and it's so not worth going into debt. Y'all nailed it.
Is it bad that I’m watching this am I’m not even close to getting engaged yet?
Not at all my friend, I follow a wedding planner's channel because I find it interesting for some reason😂 I'm not even dating anyone.
No, I haven't even started dating yet. But here I am...
Heyyy. I'm 17 and not planning to be in any relationships til college 😂😂
Nah because better to have some idea of how a wedding can be planned so it's not all new if you need to plan your own or are helping someone else with their wedding. Plus seeing how others plan could help with planning a big party/reunion etc.
nope, im in a relationship but not engaged. this showed up on my feed out of nowhere hehe
When acquiring anything, you will either spend money or you will spend time or someone else (family and friends) will spend money or time on your behalf.
This was awesome. I'm impressed by how much you did, Sara! I would freak out too about the cake. Guess I should refine those sewing skills I started learning when I was 10 years old.😅 My mom also made her own wedding dress.
Wow, your wedding dress came out amazingly, Sara! I aspire to have your sewing skills 😊
This so reminds me of our wedding in so many ways! I made my dress, did my own hair and makeup, we got an amazing deal on our venue, put together decor as well as had a friend who loaned us a bunch of decor. It was great!
Looks wonderful! It’s tough right now with COVID. I’m engaged and because of military we had to move the location, trying to be thrifty and some of these tips are really good! Bulk and bundling is a great way to save.
The fact that you made so much of your wedding elements yourself, especially your dress, is inspiring! I’ve always wanted to hear your wedding story details, so thanks for sharing!
Did Jordan do anything? Sounds like Sara put on a wedding in 12 weeks for less than $3000, that's hard work!
I think Jordan actually helped make all the decor, but Sara was the creative mastermind :)
This was pretty great. Thanks for sharing this, you two! It is refreshing and inspiring.
Sara you did an amazing job on your dress. So inspiring!
Wohoo, another video! Love you guys!
I love you guys. Your videos are so encouraging and helpful. So happy that you share your lives with us. Also, go Sara!!! Everything looked beautiful on your wedding day.❤️
I really enjoyed this and I think sharing how you did it will be helpful for lots of couples!
My husband and I got married in the middle of the afternoon, between Christmas and new years in our home church. Our decorations were greenery and white lights - basically we just took down the Christmas decorations we didn't want. We also had a few hors d'oeuvres instead of a meal - which saved a bunch, and I got a dress at David's Bridal for only $99
My brother and sister-in-law got married in their small home church the week before Christmas. They just asked the church that year if they would use all white poinsettias instead of a mix of colors. The bride's family are lifelong members and my brother was the music director, so they were able to request with no problem. The family may very well have been in charge of decorating the church for Christmas anyway. The children's choir from the church did some music and both the bride and groom had friends who provided music (my brother was a music major in college). The reception was in the small fellowship hall with white Christmas lights and I think food from church or family members. (also, no big meal but still enough to not be hungry) My brother had worked for a company that did weddings, so they gifted him a groom's cake and my sister-in-law bought her cake from them. My brother did the sound - I think just a CD player (late 90s so i don't think there were computer play lists). That's the kind of wedding I want, I just don't know if there will be people around to pull one off. Right now I go to a huge church so it is more difficult to create an intimate atmosphere without more decoration. The biggest issue right now though is lack of a groom!
Beautiful wedding! I love how diy you guys are!
She did everything. That's amazing. The pics look beautiful!
Perfect timing! I’m getting married in 2 weeks and having to DIY a lot with the COVID crisis! Very encouraging!
That was such a great video, and a lovely treat for a Saturday! I thought you would have made this two years ago, to be honest hahaha! But great job putting your wedding together in such a short time and so economically. And beautiful photographs, too!
I didn't graduate that crazy long ago but in my circles this was the goal not the exception! Prep for the marriage more than the wedding :)
This is the video I’d been waiting for 😭
I think this earliest I’ve ever been....wow, what an adorable wedding! You guys are so cute. I want to meet you and Sara in real life someday. I think me and Sara would get along really well!
AWWWWWW!
Also I didn't know about blush wedding dresses before today and THANK YOU, because they are gorgeous
This video was really encouraging to me!! Im trying to plan a wedding and its nice to hear from someone who did a lot themselves, because we're trying to do that too.
I love the idea of making decor/centerpieces functional as the wedding favors!! So creative
Hooray for budget weddings!!! My husband and I had a potluck reception, my sister made the cake, and my mom sewed my dress (which cost $200 in materials). It was a perfect day and everyone still talks about what a great time they! 🎉💜
I just love listening to you 2 talk. It relieved some stress from the week. Take care!
Wow Sara has superpowers! That sounds super stressful and I'm happy the wedding did turn out great for you! The photos are stunning and you as a married couple are, too! Where i live you have to start planning at least a year before because all the venues are booked (and i have a huge family)
I got engaged today and I cannot wait to plan my wedding the same!!
Honestly love your relationship. Jordan is a great encourager and Sara has such a sweet supportive vibe. Love watching your example.
Bless up! This is so encouraging.
You're incredible Sara. That's amazing how God just worked everything out for you. 😊
Great video!! I love that most of the wedding was diy!!
Yes! I’ve always wanted to do almost everything for my own wedding and people always tell me it’s not possible, but this is proof that an inexpensive DIY wedding IS possible!
Thank you for breaking down the time line, cost of each thing, and exactly how you did it. This is the best wedding on a budget video I've seen... and I've been binge watching.
Wow amazing. My wife and had a budget of 3,000 and we were engaged for 8 weeks. We had everything we wanted and it was perfect. So cool to see that other people have done it too! Blessings!
Going back and binge watching some of your videos. Always love your content!
Hey guys, could you post the name of the Sound Josh's company if he has one? Get the word out and whatnot.
spending more money on the big day doesnt mean much but being able to have something that truly resembles you two as a unit is remarkable. i love the venue and how everything was nature-like, so simple yet beautiful.
I'm getting married next year and this was so helpful! I'm planning to DIY my decor and I loved hearing about your experience!
Glad it was helpful! Doing it DIY was really fun AND brought us closer together.
Your weddimg might be cheaper than you thought of this Covid 19 keeps up.
I am so impressed Sarah!! Awesome!! I think you have inspired lots of future brides!
The DJ and Photographer for free?? Now that’s why it was so affordable. The photographer is easily 3-5k 😫
Mine was $700 and took better photos than most of the pinterest shoots I see. I'm in Washington DC. It all depends on how, and who, you source.
I love ya'll are both present in this video and both contributed so much to make this a thing.
Yay! So glad you guys did this video after the livestream. My engagement was 10 months and it flew by! My dress got ordered in November and it didn't arrive until March. The lady in the shop said I had so little time (10 months) that there were some dresses in the shop I couldn't even look at/choose from as they wouldn't arrive til after my wedding!! But there's no waaaaay I could have made my dress. I was oraganising a two cultures wedding with half of the wedding coming from a different country and bridesmaids and groomsmen in all kinds of countries and cities so it was stressful, so glad I didn't have to do it in 12 weeks! I crammed so much in. I would say the guestlist took us 12 weeks alone hahaha. But wow, Sara is the woman who keeps on surprising with her talents. Made her own dress AND her own cake!? You go girl.
This is exactly the video I needed
We had a 4 month engagement - it was the perfect amount of time! We spent about $5000 tops. We got married in my home church - free. Set up a tent in my mom’s cousins yard for the reception. Tent and tables and chairs were about $500. My dress was about $300. Flowers maybe $400. We bought fabric for the bridesmaids to make their dresses. Photographer was a friend and did it for free but we did pay for him to rent a specific lens. Friend made our cake for free. Music was free. Fake flowers to decorate the church. Friends did music. Reception was organized potluck style of friends and relatives. It was simple and so wonderful and not stressful. It’s some of my happiest memories of just being together and celebrating our marriage.
Both my older brother and sister had 3-4 month engagements and both of their weddings were perfect. I completely agree, you only have to be engaged long enough to put together a wedding, whatever that looks like for you!
I'm glad both of you had a great time at your wedding.
All these ideas are so awesome and what a great way to have a lovely wedding. Sara is amazing. 😍
This video was perfect!
This is so encouraging. My boyfriend and I (he is an enneagram 2 and I am a 4, same as you two btw!) are pretty much ready to get married as soon as he nails down a Grown Up job, and I think it will be a short engagement and cheap wedding. Honestly we’d probably be satisfied with not even having a full blown ceremony, but I would rather save money for the honeymoon rather than the wedding. I’m glad that this isn’t so out of the ordinary.
Well done, guys. My wife and I married 5 1/2 months after meeting each other online, 2 months after meeting in person. My wife's dress cost 30 dollars. A wedding is one day; marriage is a lifetime.
The description melted my heart 🥺
I totally understand Sara! I did the same for my wedding. Only we had $1000 and also about 12 weeks. Making your own decor and such makes such a difference!!! I had a gorgeous wedding, never forget it :)
The description!🥺❤
The 4 dislikes are the aunt Karens who looked too closely at the straw cages
I'm offended that you didn't post this before i planned my wedding 😂
IMPRESSED!!!
Sarah, you are awesome! Both of you are wise beyond your years.
Wow. You all are SO creative.
First time to watch your video😊 Sara is so amazingly talented, an ideal woman. Jordan is so lucky to have a bride like her. ❤️❤️❤️
Subscribed 👍👍👍
I bet you made your own wedding invitations too? ☺️ That’s the one thing I was bold enough to DIY 😂 Sara, you are soooo talented! 💛
@Jordan and Sara
I love you guys! Thanks for another video
PS. Love your house!
I feel you guys! My husband and I had a 14 week engagement on a budget of $5000. Slightly longer time but I feel you guys on minimizing price by doing things yourself, or reusing previous things in my case (i.e. I wore my mom's wedding dress and used some of the stuff my sister had from her wedding which she'd had not long before). And people from church volunteered to do things like the food and cake for free as a gift excepting cost of materials, and we ended up using CD's for all our music, so a lot of it worked out really well for minimizing costs. Honestly the most money was spent on photography of anything. 🙌 Overall that's awesome! Great work Jordan and Sara! Sara, your dress was beeee-youuuuuuuu-teeful!! Love it!!
Me after watching this video "Wow that's awesome I could totally put together my wedding myself, I should start working on that! Oh, wait... I don't even have a boyfriend." LOL
My thoughts exactly😩
Ooh I would actually love to hear more about Sara's past cake business, maybe in a future video? Your wedding sounded so lovely by the way! 💕
Yeees!!! I've been wanting this!!
SARA you are a queen! I love your dress
