    The roots looked incredibly dry. Shouldn't you have soaked it before moving it ? Maybe that's all it needed.

      Roots look dry because I did not water it for few days in order to take it out of the ground. The tree had been in the ground for about 3 years and had not grown and was slowly dying. Now it is in a 25 gallon pot. It has grown big with many branches and holding about 12 fruits.

    Sorry to hear your delema…your soil needs some gypsum mix to help break up that clay….gophers will attack our mango roots…

    hi Naveed, what do you feed your mango trees?

    • @TheNaveed787
      @TheNaveed787  Před 3 lety

      I use Avocado/Citrus granular fertilizer from Home Depot. I also use Epsom Salt. Also potassium, and Magnesium fertilizer at the time of flowering.

    Awesome video - appreciate the time lapse so we didn’t have to wait for the results! Just to be sure, you didn’t seal any of your cuts? I have to make a pretty big cut on one of mine, about ¾ inch on an Alphonso, and I didn’t know if I should paint, tar or leave the cut alone.
    Thanks for the great videos!!!

      @TheNaveed787  Před 4 lety +1

      No I don't seal the cuts. It is hot n dry in Arizona so no danger of fungus or moisture issue. The cuts heal themselves pretty good. May be in your area you may have to seal. Thanks for watching.

    Nice video, I live in San Diego CA. my Valencia pride hasn't grown in over two and half year. It looks the same, but it has 3 mangoes this year. Not sure if I need to remove it from the ground.

      Thanks. If the tree is young it will not grow much or not at all when it is holding mangoes. Also in hard ultra compact and low drainage soils, mango struggle to grow. If you tree is at least 5 years old and it is not growing then your soil is not very friendly to mango growing. I plant my mango trees in raised bed or raised mound formation. Please see the Super Julie Mango planting video on my channel in playlist called Mango Planting. Good luck.

      @@TheNaveed787 thank you for replying. I think it must be my soil. I will buy another mango tree and use your planting method. I would sure love to have my own mango tree.

    Do you have experience with Manila it grows well in SoCal, it is almost the same as Ataulfo. If you have Ataulfo how many months does it take from flowering to a ripened fruit? VP is very vigorous like Kent.
    Could you tell me the measurement of your 25gallon pit? Width height in inches or cm?
    How many weeks are between two flushes? Thx for answering.

    • @TheNaveed787
      @TheNaveed787  Před 4 lety +1

      I have one Manila mango tree. I don't have Ataulfo. I plan to use Manila mango to graft other varities on it. The pot size is ... top diameter 24 inches, height 19 inches, bottom diameter 19 inches. The growth flush when starts finishes in about a week, then hardens off and waits about 2 weeks and flushes again. I don't have the exact number of days.
